Thankyou!! I had to use the very last option and I was getting pretty desperate by that point, but it worked. This is about the 3rd time this has happened to me. The first time, I was on the phone for hours with hp support. Do you have any idea how to prevent it from happening again?

just double tap on the touchpad left side, you notice a small light is on. Your curser will move again and small light will be off.
Note: I am using Hp laptop

when i open the "mice & other pointing devices" tab, i have *no* "Microsoft PS/2 Mouse" options, and actually 3 "HID- compliant mouse" options. Does that mean my pc doesn't even have the original mousepad which is a part of the laptop, or doesn't recognize it? And how should I go about getting it?

My mousepad works now but I cant use mousepad scrolling. The option doesn't come up on additional settings anymore. What do I do?

You can also select Roll back driver at the place where you update driver as it worked for me.....

Hey, I tried all of these options and it still isn't working. I used a mouse while doing them, could that be an issue in why they did not work? The touchpad was working until I plugged a USB in for a wireless mouse. I appreciate your video though, thank you for making it :)

My mousepad is super jumpy, the control menu opens up randomly, things get clicked on without me touching anything, the whole thing is terrible.
It says I have the latest driver already installed, but it's still jumping like crazy.

HP used to have laptop models that had a double tap the upper right hand corner to disable function.

I accidentally spilled water on my laptop yesterday so immediately wiped it off and turned it off for a few minutes. I turned it on to see if there were issues but saw that there was none. I was using a bluetooth mouse while using it and the cursor was moving and can click things. But after a few minutes, I tried the touchpad and saw that the cursor moves but doesn't click anything. I turned it off and searched for solutions . So I put my laptop upside down while placing rice on its keyboard and touchpad for 7 hours. I checked it again but it still doesn't work. I put it back upside down with rice again and hope that it works. Will my touchpad work again? I really need help.
still don’t work, when i upgraded my touchpad didn’t never show up and i’m wondering what’s going on mice & other options don’t show up for device manager tried many times, and last option thought it would work and it still doesn’t work me and my mom been trying to make it ever since i think there’s nothing we can do if u do please reply back
I know I'm late but if you can't see the mice and other devices press alt+v. After choose "show hidden devices"
