Steve, you are incredible, brother. While everything in our World is coming unglued, you have a Channel with informative, helpful, and entertaining footage. You are one darn great Ambassador for Alabama. So, let me jump in and say THANK YOU. To the folks who have never visited our Coast......well you need to! Y'all have to put in some fishing time when there.
Bro your Mama was the star of the show and she was not having those shark eat her fish!! Really nice video of you and your Mom having fun! Glad I found this video! Keep Mom fishing Bro!
Great video!! that kinda had me on the edge of my seat when your mom got hooked up and was trying to get that Spanish in. I had to keep from waking people up by screaming reel!!!!!! 🤣
Let me beging by saying as a new angler myself, I very much appreciate the detail breakdown of your actions and how descriptive you are. It is an instant sub for me. I look forward on leaning about his new hobby from you. Great video for a beginner. Very much appreciated. Can't wait to follow up and get the same fish with your instructions. Love it.
Just wanted to say thank you for your videos and all the info I got from you recently. I stopped at a local bait shop and bought a few of your rigs. I caught my first pompano with it and I’m getting my limit every day now. I’m staying with my wife and daughter near Gulf shores for the next couple weeks. We’re from Michigan and it was so awesome to get some intel from your content and within a few days I’m down here getting it done! Thanks again brother. Tight lines as always.
Dude.. just found and subscribed to your channel. It's awesome I can't quit watching your videos. I love that your mom fishes with you. I wish my parents were still alive so I could still fish with them. Keep the videos coming my friend.
Your channel is absolutely awesome. I come down twice a year from Missouri and always want to fish the pier. Unfortunately I don’t know the first thing about saltwater fishing, your channel is helping to make me more confident in giving it a try when I am down there in October.
Love watching you and your momma fish! I love fishing with my 16 year old son. We compete who can catch the biggest bass. Here in Idaho where we live we have limited species to catch. 😊
This is awesome! Gulf State Park is a gem in every way. Biking, fishing, kayaking, walking, and camping. I have not seen the sharks act like that but have heard of them doing it. Great catch for both you and you mom!
Got to visit and fish at that pier a few days ago. It was my first time fishing from a saltwater pier. Stayed for 4 hours and caught two stingrays and a 13 inch pompano (as well as some small croaker and trash fish). Really beautiful place.
Thanks for the efforts on your video. Watch at least one a week. I'm heading to Dauphin Island next week and can't wait to fish! Just visited the Sord website and bought a knife. Go Army!!!!
I use the same slip sinker rig I put a small crimp on split shot right at the swivel between the sinker to keep the sinker from rubbing the knot Gotta love them sheepshead. Excellent eating
Darn sharks! But they live there to. Some beautiful Spanish. Great job fighting the fish and keeping away from the sharks. Great job mom!! Always enjoy your videos and the info you share. Thanks
Thank you for making these educated videos. I'm learning quite a bit from your teaching and taking the time to explain. Those were nice Spanish mackerel.
You do a great job of educating and entertaining. Thank you for your service and best wishes for continuing growth. I'm going to be down there in mid-September and this is full of useful information.
Hello Bama saltwater, I love watching your channel and your videos. I have recently Incorporated some of your techniques of fishing, but I especially like this video here. Because I work for RTIC myself, and I seen you had one of our coolers. So with that being said I want to welcome you to #teamRTIC. I have been planning a trip to come down at the Alabama to do some fishing where are you be fishing at with hopes of running into you, and doing some fishing with you. Keep up with your videos, and tight lines.
Good trip for both of you-enjoyed. I stopped going to the piers for fishing, and if I were still going I wouldn't here in PCB mid-April through early July. I've seen as many as 25-30 runners abusing everyone else on the pier-and when I had to put one on the deck I said no more. That was a good crowd there, would be an enjoyable outing. Appreciate the pointer on the black dorsal fin-hadn't learned that. Caught a huge spanish the other day but I talked myself into maybe it was a juvenile king and I let it swim away. Did have the black so it means I released my PB.
Excellent content as Always by th way. Momma &me gonna be at West Pensacola gulf shores KOA campground July 28 through August 3. No Boat Access 😤 just need info on backroad & canal bridges & try to get what We can
Never seen a net used like that off a pier. Very new at saltwater fishing, yeah like never. Anyway videos like yours are very helpful and informative. Gonna go out on a charter here in Connecticut this summer to get some tips. Have a buddy who has a boat we take out on the sound. He doesn’t fish so I’ll do the charter thing, and videos like yours to learn more so I can do it on my own on my buddies boat. Thanks for the great videos.
Thanks for all the great content. **MOM'S GOTCHA PLUG** needs the treble hooks replaced , that front one is definitely bent out . And she still out fished ya. :^)
My friend and I had bought some of those fluorescent tube things that go on the arms of sunglasses at Walmart and cut them into small pieces then used it with a treble hook and the spanish loved it.
First time I've seen a Spanish mackerel. Bonnie fish. Had you're work cut out with the 'swimming tax man'. Great advice included in the coverage. All good stuff thanks.
Thanks for the video and it was very informative and well presented. Just a tip is to add a bead in front of that egg sinker to prevent it from wearing away the knot when the egg sinker slides into it. Thanks again
I agree, his and Max's are the best. We still use Max's Recipe often. And then Cher's Fried Spanish is amazing as well. I'll usually give some Spanish to Lou.
I went on a charter off Cape York here in Oz last week and had the same problem with sharks. I did catch a really nice Spanish at th end of the day though. Very exciting fish to catch, for sure !!
Steve I want to thank you for the break down of all your lines and tackle I appreciate that part of your videos. Also I want to tell you the education on how you are cleaning this fish is much appreciated too. I would like to see exactly the proper process to bleed out the fish so it can done right if you would show that at some point that would be greatly appreciated . Quick question before I end. Why are the sharks so protected if their population needs thinned out some? Is it a safety issue for people catching them from the park’s perspective or is it just Alabama law to help conserve the population?
Thanks for the kind comment, Alabama allows shark fishing, it's just the Alabama State Park System that does not. I'm not for sure what their exact reason for preventing it is. (maybe because they're dangerous? but so is a lot of marine life.). No clue!
@@BamaSaltwater DCNR is really weird about their rules regarding shore based shark fishing. they state that it's unlawful to fish for sharks from shore if it presents a danger to swimmers. which is really up to interpretation for the CEO at that point. and the parks are a popular tourist spot so it probably has something to do with that. on the park's side of the story i think they state that they're some kind of shark conservation sanctuary some people seem to think that you flat out aren't allowed to shore fish for sharks in AL which doesn't seem to be true. but man i can really see where they think that, i wish the laws regarding it weren't so vague.
The Shimano XG series is a fantastic reel, I definitely recommend all sizes, I run my 1500 for fluke, seabass, striped bass, and blackfish. I also run my 3000 for Bull Mahi. The reels are great, and I have never had a problem. You can even run them up on heavier catches. I also run my 1500 on King Mackeral. Definitely compare those reels to Van Staal's
It is an absolute crime that you don't have a million followers already. One of the better fishing channels out there.
LOL I love how your mom taunts the shark
IKR, she did well haha

.my wife loves the way you take your Mom fishing.
Great video!! that kinda had me on the edge of my seat when your mom got hooked up and was trying to get that Spanish in. I had to keep from waking people up by screaming reel!!!!!! 🤣
It's funny how you can just feel the energy from the water when those sharks start kicking it up and making a ruckus haha! Thanks for watching
I love Mr. Lee cheering you on in the background, great guy
Awesome video. I had a good laugh watching your mom getting excited fishing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
So happy for your Mom catching those fish :-) I love when us Ladies show our enthusiasm when fishing....ha ha sharkie shark!!!

That was totally awesome, your Mom's response to those sharks, classic! Just started watching your channel, good stuff.
This pier was my childhood and it's so nice to see videos with it.
Outstanding catches! I'd hate to be in constant competition with those sharks though...like a bunch of bullies stealing your lunch money. 😂
New subscriber right here! Definitely love your channel. Greetings from Miami, Florida
I like your Mom. She gets excited like I do when I catch something.
She loves it !

You motivated me to get out and go fishing. Hit the local pier and had a blast! Thanks and tight lines!
Nice Spanish! Looks like a lot of fun. The Shark problem at the pier is crazy! Wish they would do something about it. Enjoyed the video, keep it up!
Thank you, they were on fire. Appreciate ya commenting.
