Penholder serves are just as good as the shakehand players. No better or worse. But penholders' backhands are inferior. So far, Wang Hao was the only penholder who could compete against the best players in the world. I mean with his backhand to backhand. Since Wang Hao, there are a few Chinese players with good backhands but their forehand side sucks big time.
