many ppl commented WH play better but ML won. The reason is ML is slowing down the game. ML is very good at breaking the rhythm of opponent. When opponent is very excited and can't wait for the next serve, he tend to slow it down to piss off his opponent. This also gives him more time to think and breathe at his age. I use the same tactic in my game, it works. This is very important tactic when you are older but your opponent is young and want to keep attack you.
Stalling tactics doesnt work against me at the club level, I just wait stoned faced unfazed, OR I put them on the spot and get in their face and bark at them. Sometimes it depends on my mood or my quality output at the moment, or if I had a good meal. Either way it usually shakes out for the best, if I lose, its because my opponant played better, or I played less tham my best, simple as that. And all that over 'choing' from 'club' players who think they are real serious, and the next Fan Zhendong, I just chuckle and silently laugh it off. I play reverse penhold and love it as my backhand continues to beffudle bread and butter shakehand players.

Ma Lin has a way of pulling a rabbit out of a hat on big points. The "Get" Ma made at 8-8 in the last game was unbelievable,
Then the crosscourt shot he hit on the next point off of a very difficult net shot was even better. You could see the fear in Wang Hao's eyes...Knowing he might blow such a big lead....

But Ma couldn't do that against Wang Liqin. At least not at the WTTC events. Poor Ma never won the WTTC. If they did not alter the genuine TT ball and rules, I think Ma then would be the #1 dominant player for at least a decade and he would have won at least 3 WTTC Single. The 40mm ball took away Ma Lin's serves.

Beautiful match. Wang Hao should have won but he choked. Wang actually choked against many players. The only surprise is that he eliminated the great Ma Long in 3 consecutive WTTC Single. Maybe, Wang Hao is the only player possesses a winning record against Ma Long. I cannot think of anybody beating up Ma Long the way Wang Hao did.

Wang Hao's skill was better though, he didn't use his mind well. He always hit the ball to Ma Lin's back hand side & the latter always waited there...

So at 51:22 when the game is at 8-8, didn't the ball hit the table on Ma Lin's side twice before he returned it? Did the referee just miss it or am I wrong?

Wang Hao was the #1 player of his team and Zhang Jike at #2. How ironic he lost twice to Zhang Jike at the 2011 and 2013 WTTC. He should have won at least once. But Wang Hao was really good at beating up Ma Long though.
