I would have liked a similar DLC for TLoU 2 that covered the days leading up to Lev and Yara's escape from the Seraphites. They could have even had a moment where Lev is looking in a cracked mirror and the player has to move their finger across the touchpad to have Lev shave his head. And with every stroke of the razor, the camera angle moves in tighter until Lev's reflection is only show in the undamaged portion of the mirror, symbolizing that by embracing his true self, Lev is now "whole".
Imo, that would be trying too hard. People don't need these kinds of visual references to understand what goes through the characters mind. A close up showing his facial expressions would be better imo. Obviously, thats just my opinion, and your idea isnt BAD to me, just too much.
Showcased Ellie's courage, knowledge, and skills obtained from Joel while going at it alone. She is dedicated to keep him alive. I played it on ground mode and that last section where I have to fight waves of enemies alone was quite possibly the most difficult gameplay I've done in my life till this day. It took me like 5 days to get the pattern down.
I've often wondered if Ellie's immunity is due to something special about her physiology, some kind of mutation on the part of the runner who bit her or some combination of factors. Marlene mentioned that the cordyceps inside Ellie had mutated. The cordyceps, not something specific to Ellie
Well actually it says she has the virus, but her immune system isn’t reacting to it. Highly likely she is just infected with a different cordyceps fungus, the doctors test isn’t specific enough.
My older brother bought me a PS3 for Christmas one year and this game was included. At first I wasn’t interested, but I gave it a chance and I’m glad that I did. I’ll never forget the emotional rollercoaster I was on while playing the story because originally I didn’t think I would enjoy it. As a fan I think the HBO show is doing an excellent job so far and I can’t wait to see more!
7:21 it’s so amazing that playing part 2 and replaying the first game and Ellie asking Riley if she found dinosaurs and knowing as the player that Joel gave her the best birthday in her life taking her to see some
One small little detail there is a note from Elies mother in her backpack, it goes into some small details about the fireflies and just really nice that Ellie has a small peice of her mum ♥️
I remeber when this DLC came out and 8-bitryan played it, i screamed and giggled when i saw riley and ellie kiss because i had a feeling they'd be together when the game first opened up. I loved The last of us, DLC and part 2 despite peoples mixed opinions on the second one, i also love HBO or here in Australia Binge TLOU show. Im enjoying it so far just as i use to enjoy watching TH-camrs play the games and make them in to a mini series.
Recently finished this DLC, albeit in TLOU Remastered, and it’s probably some of the best 2 hrs I’ve had in gaming. Everything about Ellie and Riley’s relationship, to the former’s desperation to help Joel, and having both the infected and humans fight one another during gameplay was such a treat. Even if it ends on a somber note. 😢
One thing I see absolutely no one mention is that this dlc of a love story came out on Valentine’s Day. I like to think that this story takes place on that day but sadly It didn’t. When we cut to Joel, the subtext says “summer” so that’s may at the very earliest. Then we meet Ellie and she says her bite is 3 weeks old so the dlc took place early April the absolute earliest. Btw we can see the very second the runner bit Ellie. She was holding it off with palms at the shoulders and for a second, she used her forearm to block it and that’s when she got bit. It oddly wasn’t shown in this video but watch the scene unedited and it’s there.
I actually really like the duality of the last of us part 1 & 2. The first game was about love, the second was the mirror image of that about hate and the rage that drives Ellie, and she doesn’t get a happy ending she has to live with the consequences of her actions, and u think if they did a part 3 it would be about healing. We would play as an older Ellie and find a young boy that becomes her companion. Or at least that would be one cool way to make the games rhyme more yk
@@TarunKumar-vp6wi True Abby lost her friends, but she also got a happy ending with Lev while Ellie lost everything. Also Abby killed and tortured Joel out of revenge for her own father who was a villain that wanted to rush an unconscious child into a fatal surgery to create a vaccine against a fungal infection (which as any doctor knows is impossible). And even though Ellie was on the same revenge kick as Abby, Ellie showed remorse when fighting Abby and was even visibly traumatized when she tortured Nora for information on Abby. Abby on the other hand took pleasure from torturing and killing Joel.
I absolutely love this DLC and the show. The show is a perfect example of how to adapt a game. It is a perfect adaptation, keeping things the same while changing others. Watching episode 4 and seeing the Truck scene not only in the show, but exactly the same was amazing
i really enjoy the tv show, but the one thing that bothers me so much is, that every dialogue they copied from the game feels so forced. idk like the whole car scene and the conversation in episode 4.. they’re trying too hard to copy the scene from the game, it just feels so unnatural
I think it's called Left Behind because, as Ellie says ( *SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS* ) "I'm still waiting for my turn". She came to terms with the fact she was going to turn and then... didn't. She had to keep on living. We don't even see what happened to Riley - Ellie is Left Behind to carry on. It's survivor's guilt, through and through.

Your ending absolutely hit the nail on the head about what The Last of Us is. Everybody has their own opinions but to me The Last of Us Part 1 has always felt like a candle in the middle of a really dark, cold room. That despite the world gone to shit, there is always light. Especially, in the light that is love, though the power of love is terrifying at times. I never understood them why Part 2 strayed so far away from that fact, but hopefully we get a Part 3 to bring us back to that message. I absolutely love the HBO series and I’ve been pretty much telling everyone I know to watch it
I wouldn’t say they strayed from that fact, more so that they put it to the test. The candle is still lit in part 2, but it’s weaker against the far more oppressive backdrop of Part 2’s world. The wind makes it flicker constantly, and you start to wonder if it will ever survive. By the end of the game, it definitely feels like the flame has diminished when compared to how it used to be. But it’s still there. There’s still hope for it to grow again.
Remastered has factions????? And I bought part 1 while it was on SALE FOR $50??? So what you’re saying is I can get both for the price of part 1, nice?
If you get the chance, play Days Gone! The game got a lot of hate but I found it to gloomy, sad and terrifying but by the end there was hope. Oh and there's nothing in gaming that's as nerve racking, heart pounding, and exciting as taking down hordes of freakers!!
No win for Ellie calling forward to her birthday trip with Joel by asking if it's a dinosaur? Come on
