“Roaches…, you may not find them, but they gon’ find you “🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
too funny
Oh my 🤣
😂😂😂😂
That’s not true
Great video and one of the most accurate that I've seen! Overall Houston is a great city, there is always something to do and it has a lot to offer..
Forsure! Thanks for watching!
Short, to the point, and some major details. Thank you lol. Especially mentioning the bugssss. Had no idea it was that bad!
Great video! Great info! You’re very well spoken & professional 👍🏼🍃
Thank you, and thanks for watching 🙏🏾
The lack security at apartments segment was a major point
Most definitely.. thanks for watching!
You’re hilarious ! Lol I just visited for the first time and definitely looking into moving. Great vid
Lol, thanks for watching!!
… I’m a New Yorker, rodents are like our neighbors.. we don’t know them but we see them all the time 😂 Wanting to move out there with a job transfer. TY for the video.
For the most part looks like you love living in Houston so far. You are 100% correct in terms of the cost of living in the Galleria area vs the suburbs. While it's tough to find anything nice for $1,000 in the Galleria area now, there are some hidden gems out there. ( not luxury apartments tough).
I have been doing apartment locating for a bit over 2 years and I do feel the same about the fact that you can get an apartment that's 10x better in areas such as Katy, Cypress, even in the Woodlands for very similar price as in the inner city. Plus traffic in the Galleria area is getting out of control during rush hours.
Love to connect man! Just subscribed to your channel.
Most definitely! I appreciate you watching!
Hi. How is Ponderosa Forest area? Is it diverse?
I knew you weren't fully from Htown when I saw one of your other earlier videos.
Though all in all, dope vid!
Yeah LA Native! Thanks for watching!
I’m currently in Phoenix, AZ as well highly considering moving to Houston or Dallas soon. I love AZ and the scenery is amazing but it’s more of a retirement community. Thanks for this video.
Couldn’t agree more, You’d definitely love it here or Dallas! Thanks for watching 🙏🏾
I'm here in Phoenix AZ as well and looking to relocate to Houston, too!
Nice! I’d love to help, feel free to reach out!
@@_twelve20media_I'm from upstate ny looking to move to Houston tx been planning but need more information

Mike!
I used to go to high school with you I recently lived to Houston with my wife.
Godbless
Lived in Tucson for 6 months. Honestly a very nice city.
Yeah, just a bit too slow there for me, being from Los Angeles it’s like night and day!
Loveee the comments! 😂ppl are hilarious! All of your questions can get answered just from the comments lol.. Love it!!!
😂😂😂
@@_twelve20media_ 🤣😄
Nice video!
Thank you!
Glad you are enjoying the city. I personally hate any establishment that has hookah lol. While there are a lot of those joints, there are plenty of places that don't do the hookah thing if it isn't your vibe. You're also absolutely right, some places do catfish on the food and it's more of an "ambiance" thing, rather than quality. There are a lot of great restaurants though, but they are usually not all that popular and serve a variety of different foods from around the world. I strongly suggest dodging the chain restaurants and popular spots and just google the best restaurants based on country or ethnicity.
Yeah that’s true, let’s keep the good places unpopular, so they can stay authentic lol
I’m 26 from wisco hoping to move to Texas I visited humble and Baytown and enjoyed it I might just have to take that leap
Go for it
Love Houston but just the heat like down in Arizona i cant take.. Even the California heat i cant take. Love my winters.
Hey loved the video it was very informative, but what are some safer suburban areas that arent too far from Huston ?
Thanks for watching! For that, I'd say Sugar Land and Pearland would checkoff those boxes!
Nice video…moving before the year is out. Is there an artsy/boho city area in Houston?
Yes
Just came to say Bear Down 😺
Nice video.
🐻⬇️!!!
HTown gives you back, the love you give it. Real Talk.
No doubt 🤘🏾
Uber if you are going out in Houston or any major city. For one a DWI charge is expensive as hell, you don't risk your life or anyone elses, you are going to have to pay park anyways, and it burns your gas up. If you stay within Houston proper it may cost between 25-30 bucks to Uber to the venue you are going to and back. It's well worth the cost. Parking is free in the streets at night pretty much everywhere, but you just have to make sure you aren't parking in a tow zone, more than likely the vehicle will be good but it could always be broken in to or bumped by drunk people walking, and you have to keep an eye out walking back to the vehicle afterwards....especially women. It's just better to Uber.
Yep, well said!!
Is it true about expensive it is to live there and how pricey the tolls are and how many you have to go through?
Always try to get a place with a garage here.
Definitely!!
Great info!
Thanks for watching!
The music is too loud babe!
agree
Thought it was just me. Such a distraction, takes away from the video!
From phx az looking to move to Houston
Where you recommend to live at and new or used apartments?
Give me a call (713) 474-4531!
How often do you see palm trees, driving through the city, commercial area, neighborhoods, etc?
Not often to be honest! In my experience, you may see them at an apartment complex here and there, but it is far from a regular occurrence!
There aren't any palm trees here, lol. I LOVE the greenery here tho. I'm from California and have been here in Houston for 4 years now. The trees here are BEAUTIFUL
❤
Thanx. Is there a way you can avoid roaches? Like how about the suburbs? I can’t do the roaches bruh but I’m tryin to move there
Living in a single family home and getting pest control should definitely eliminate the problem for the most part!
You will have to have pest control on RETAINER, 4Xyear!!!!@@_twelve20media_
Don't move into apartments..they don't spray properly and if you get a neighbor sometimes they bring Roaches with them and infest your home too. Was here about 2 1/2 years before I got a next door neighbor and she brought Roaches with her
Im in Atlanta im trying to move somewhere cheap and houston is where its at! Im talking about on living ive heard houston is way more affordable than Atlanta so houston is my number 1 choice charlotte is my 2nd choice but over all im 100% HOUSTON is way more gorgeous ❤ im picking houston instead of charlotte i have to visit Houston im autistic so i love huge cities like the 4th most largest city ❤
Lmaoooo houston is not better looking than charlotte ill tell you that. The suburbs yea maybe
Traffic in Houston in general is TRASH!! Drivers are even worse. Lol also been here about 2 years
I’m closing in on my retirement and I’d like to move from Houston to a warmer climate, but the prices on homes are stupidly ridiculous and Mortgage prices has been skyrocketing on a roll(currently over 7%) do I just invest my spare cash into stock and wait for a housing crash or should I go ahead to buy a home anyways.
A recession as bad it can be, provides good buying opportunities in the markets if you’re careful and it can also create volatility giving great short time buy and sell opportunities too. This is not financial advise but get buying, cash isn’t king at all in this time!
On the contrary, even if you’re not skilled, it is still possible to hire one. I am a project manager and my personal portfolio of approximately $750k took a big hit in April due to the crash. I quickly got in touch with a financial-planner that devised a defensive strategy to protect and profit from my portfolio this red season. I’ve made over $350k since then.
@@MarkFreeman-xi3rk I've been thinking of going that route been holding on to a bunch of stocks that keeps tanking and I don't know if to keep holding or just dump them, do think your Inv-coach could guide me with portfolio-restructuring as i wouldn’t mind a recommendation.
Actually, I've shuffled through a few advisors in the past, and Margaret Johnson Arndt remains the most resourceful thus far. Her strategy proves profitable, and sustainable both in a bull & bear market. Most likely, her deets can be found on the net, so you can confirm yourself.
Insightful... I curiously looked up her name on the internet and I found her site and i must say she seems proficient, thanks for sharing.
Crime is really bad in Houston, crazy the see you're down playing it.
How is Houston for new grads? Jobs? Dating? Nightlife?
There are plenty of jobs for sure. I think the hiring process is a bit slower here at times tho! Nightlife is good any day of the week! I met my Fiancée before I moved here, so I can’t help you with the dating scene, but I heard it’s rough lol
you wont see many attractive females down here.
Hi! New subbie here. My husband & I are planning our move to Htown in March 2024. We're still on the fench about what part of town to move. We have decided to move to an apartment first. In your opinion what part of town should we be looking. By the way were not clubbers were empty nesters. Any help would be appreciated
I love Southwest Houston Richmond/SugarLand/Katy/Fulshear ❤
look into tomball, cypress, and spring, if you want to live in the city center i would look at the heights
Hey, thanks for subscribing!! I definitely think the Heights and Upper Kirby are some good areas to consider if you two would like to be in the city! If you want to be in the suburbs, I'd recommend Sugar Land, Richmond, Katy, Cypress, and Pearland!
What areas are you looking in that you are paying that much in rent? When I looked for places in Houston, I found a lot of nice complexes cheaper than what you are paying. You must have a really good job.
In the city, I was looking in the Galleria area, but now I live in a community in the suburbs!
Tons of good luck! Can you do a vid on where to meet and make friends if you’re new to HOU
What is the name of the nice suburb area?
If you say “59” or “Southwest Freeway” instead of “69,” people will think you’re a native.
Noted ✍🏾
I was born in the original Hermann Hospital by the zoo back in 1965.
I remember Houston history from then to now personally, and my 86-year-old mother remembers even more.
Lemme know if you have questions. I love my hometown, but BORDER PROBLEMS are causing a LOT more crime in decent neighborhoods.
I live in a predominantly black apartment complex, and until Biden got in and opened the border, this was a SAFE, FUN, pleasant place to live.
Now, we are dealing with child & women sex trafficking on an unprecedented scale. They had a big bust in an apartment adjacent to mine, just last month! We have our "powder" and wont hesitate to use it, but, still... ive never seen ANYTHING like this!
Anyway, if yall are moving here and want GOOD things, like a good CHURCH, I'm happy to help, just lemme know!
Be blessed, from Houston ❤
There’s always going to be bad traffic by the galleria because of the galleria, that’s it😊
it's getting really expensive in the Galleria area, you have to make good money if you want to live in a decent apartment complex, otherwise you will have rats and roaches no matter how often you call the office for the exterminators
Im coming In April from Cali❤❤ cant wait!
So exciting!!! Congratulations!!
you lost me at the flying roaches 😭
Houston is 20 times bigger than Atlanta.
Agreed!
Bigger doesn’t always mean better, because Atlanta is way better than Houston.
@@chantell6060that’s subjective
Yeah move to Atlanta it’s better
Houston sounds like hell then
It’s packed because to many people are moving here whe they not from here….
How is the jobs
Great question! Plenty of jobs here, especially for oil and gas, healthcare, and logistics, those are a few of the top industries here
We're full.
Apparently not 😂
@@_twelve20media_ 😂
Yes we don't need anymore 😅
I have been trying to move there for YEARS! They always say there are SO many opportunities and I caint land ONE! My background both education and experience are over 15 years and I have zero luck. Do you mind sharing how you landed a job in TX while living in AZ?
Forsure! For me, it’s pretty easy to get into real estate once you have your license, you just find somewhere to hang your license, so the barrier to entry is very low. Education wise, there are plenty of jobs across various school districts, and there is a shortage of teachers, so I suggest staying persistent, the right people will hire you!!
Texas is always looking for teachers... especially large cities such as Houston.
Depending on your industry, the job market here can be extremely competitive. They typically give priority to current Houston residents, because they don’t want to pay for relocation expenses. Make connections with hiring managers. That’s the only way you’ll have a shot.
@@_twelve20media_ Wow, are you in real estate? Commercial, residential, multi-family?
Right off the back bro your music is too loud.
Thanks for the feedback!
cockroaches big like a cat , everywhere in houston TX
😂
Is that just Houston or all of Texas?
@@marriejames01yea and they fly
The flying roaches are outdoor tree roaches that on a rare occasion gets inside the home. They are about an inch-and-a-half long.
They can fly. I was swatting at one. It flew and landed on my bicep and bit me. That roach did not live long.
@@michaeljozwiak25 geeeez 😳
MOVE. NO city is perfect. Maybe things will get back to the way they were before all these criminals moved here. Crime is horrible.
How?
2-inch long cockroaches climbing the walls of newly painted (empty) garage in greater Houston suburb (not inner-city).
Yikes 😵💫
Your guide to all things Houston???? Stop it.yall are fn hilarious. Please get some more content.
Aww hell nah, I’m so terrified of rats 😭 so disgusting
Lol people really be trifling with their trash, that's the problem!
Houston would never be the “new Atlanta”… Houston, Texas is Houston, Texas, and we could never be compared to Atlanta simply because we are in an exclusive lane completely on our own.
Just “Energy Capital of the World” things 🤷🏼♂️💁🏼♂️
no rat problem "YET" but there is cockroach problem already. roaches out number humans in this place
Sound more like possums than rats. The are everywhere here in Houston
Nah I know what a possum looks like, encountered a few of those too, but they we’re definitely rats that night
All this sounds way better then California living in Southern California has become impossible im lokking over there fo sho lol
Nothing beats Cali for me personally, but if Texas had Cali weather, then they’d definitely be top tier lol
it does have cali weather, it’s hot af
@Art Rea Cali cold right now lol but SoCal prices are atrocious af right now hahahahah
@@RichLikeTheCarnegies made the move to Houston last October from Riverside. absolutely love it out here

No way I would die off the rats 🐀
😂😂
dont ever move to NY lol.
@@RedeemedAThe last time I visited I saw them in the subway station. I visited Chicago and they were literally walking across the street with us. Good places to visit but I’d never live there.

How you gone have on all that Laker gear and complaining about Houston traffic and parking???
