my dad served with the british paras 3rd Bn C Company, my dad done an exercise with the canadian airborne and told me they were a fucking tough bunch of lads, but unfortunately they were disbanded because they tortured some people, but thats against the gionovice convention, just shows how fucking tough airborne are!!!!
Nice video !! Looks like you guys had a blast !! I remember jump school and getting yelled at by Sgt Airborne lol two weeks of pure shit but one week of pure Awesomeness !!
Wow nostalgia moment. I remember these jumps, the hollywood jump is where I did my first ever roll. haha good jumps. Got a concussion on the third one tho.
To be a paratrooper, you need to serve in the CF for a few YEARS. Afterwards, you'll hopefully get the opportunity to attend a jump course (main requirement). Serving in the infantry trade of the Combat Arms will maximize your chances of becoming a paratrooper. The Army Cadets also offers a jump course virtually identical to the CF version as well. U join cadets at ages 12-18 and usually do the course at age 17. U can also join CF part-time at 16 on top of financial benefits that come with it
you can join reserves at 16, thats what im doing. Just ask a recruiter about the army co-op. It allows you to do BMQ and SQ during a school semester, then go do your trades training during the summer. that would be a good place to start, since you'll get priority over guys coming off the street when you want to go transfer to regular force.
Uk forces have closed off commonwealth nations joining b/c of cut backs for the time being. i already looked into it. my buddy joined after reserves told him 2 years to join reg force, so he went and did 4 years in the british infantry instead. a great experience he said but glad to be home. 1 iraq and 1 astan tour.
Depending on your medical condition why not check out the U.K forces, they may have different requirements regarding your condition. Were part of the commonwealth Canadians can join. Also check out the French Foreign Legion, do not know their medical requirements but wont hurt to send a email and ask.
RESPECT
from scotland
Crazy bastards....... I applaud them, biggest balls of any soldier. They aren't falling like a reg parachutist, fall fast and heavy. Good job lads
Exactly right, day, night, land, water and even snow jumps! Great memories of those days and fellow paratroopers.
These are my boys! Salut from the 3PPCLI!

Static lines. They are attached to a line inside the aircraft and pull the chute open when the men are clear.
