Keep the Highlands they’re cool and your visitors like them
If he doesn't have space for all of them, there's no reason to keep all of them.
As challenging and precise as the Red Tractor scheme is to achieve, as a consumer I intentionally choose to purchase items that have that little sticker on them, to support the farmers who have worked so long and hard to achieve that designation. Didn’t know that herd health data was included in all that collected data!
Do you know that the ref tractor logo is put on some food that is not british
Now my Tuesday is complete! I was working away and then thought hang on where is Tom and the Farm YT. Happy days loving watching and as the Wurzels said Oh I wish I was back on the Farm! 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😍
Your not wrong sir
Oh what a nice video, got my Highland fix! I laugh when you call your self lazy, Tom you are the most un-lazy person I’ve ever seen! And off camera you have the family stuff happening also. Tom you’re a good man. Loved seeing you and your dad taking the calves out. You guys so easily fall into that natural rhythm of working together, it’s neat to see how you barely have to talk to one another, you just know what the other is going to do. Hugs to Joanna and Harvey! Love your video’s, they are always an enjoyable treat. ❤❤
Loved seeing the highlands again its been to long since I have seen them more videos of the highlands please good sir! Hope all is well
16:55 great content again
Cheers to TOM !!!…..happy family, married, new birth, happy cows and SUN Shine.!!!!! Youd the best!! Lovem videos. I’m riding my stationary bike while your running around. I’m trying to keep up !! Lol
Lovely video. Thank you for showing us life on the farm.
1:31 love the moments in life is a step toward happiness
Interesting about the bull chat on still born ..
Next book you do Tom a child's book on Neptune .
I watch when he came to the farm to the sad day he had to be put down .
He was special .
I would even put the bit of why he had to be put down .
Why because it's a reality of farming .
I am not a farmer . He was a great story
The life and time of Neptune
And you loved that bull . Great story for your child .
Thankyou for the video .
Good one Tom, you have a lot of animals, lots of work taking care of all of them.
You are definitely not lazy - you have lots on your plate most importantly your new little family.
Thanks for the look at the Highlands they sure are a shaggy bunch of ladies. 🥰
Trailer hitch - that was the work of the devil if ever I saw it! Get thee behind me Pemberton
Fantastic to watch Tom 😊
Love the highlands but those horns are super scary. Well done you legends 😂. ❤❤❤
Mr.Tom as usual you have done an excellent job thank you for sharing
February 2 is the half point of winter. Only 6 weeks until spring!
Awwwwww l❤ve them so cuteeee ❤ at least they can connect through the fence 😮
What a great farmer he is 4:18
Nice video Tom, I like this kind of thing moving cars around
😊
It'll be a hell of a lot quieter with highland mums being able to see their calves, because they'd be bawling all night long if they couldn't see them. Another excellent video Tom lad. 👍
Great video Tom
Absolutely love the Highland cow breed there gorgeous built 4 the winter ❤
You are the man. Great job
Hi Tom. What you lazy. A farmer is never lazy with all the work you do far from it. You just have certain priorities that you have to take care of first. Great video. So cute your highland cows, such beautiful animals. I fell in love with this type of cow. I know the mother cows were not to happy but the babies are surely enjoy your new space. Great idea. Please be careful. Say hi to big boss . Have a blessed week.
I do love a good mixed farming video, even with the paperwork😢 but it has to be done to tick all the boxes👍🏻
Tom I love your book I have it now on my farming book display In my room 😊❤
Another very interesting video Thank you 😊😊😊😊
Cracking video as always
You are the man tom😊
Danke!
Hi great video hope family OK see you on the next one,
Great video. I'm going on holiday soon so I'll finally get chance to read your book.
Great video Tom i hope everything goes well with the red tractor. I hope Jo is getting better 👏👏👍👍
Your highland cattle are awesome
Grand video as usual Tom. Any news on the calf with the broken leg?
Here is a wroten thumps Up fore your thinking! I agree with you, close to 100% Tom! Tack Cares of familly & Animals, I know you do that! Best Regards Peter Eriksson Sweden 😊😊😊!
Praying for joy
Thanks
Sometimes foals are weaned exactly this way from mares and it is called soft weaning. Also you're so right to be cautious of highland mums, i remember when i was in Scotland at uni a local guy was nearly killed by being gored by a highland mum when he wandered into her field and thought he would pet her calf. Not a good choice, you would think those horns would send a message but apparently not always!
Great job
Interesting video 👌
Tom surprising what happens when your ball in the right place 😊😊😊😊
I love the silly noises you make 😂
Tom, love a bit of fluff ❤. 🥰🇦🇺
Afternoon Tom
I would LOVE to see some Halter Trained Highlands!
I have got to say all kilco products are good I've sprayed loads of there different chemicals in poultry sheds and they are brilliant
I think my favorite cow/bull has to be the HAIRY COOS aka Scottish Highland Coos.
since you like the jcb you schould look at a manitou mlt625 ,its the diesel version of the electric manitou you saw at lamma and it has the same dimensions as the jcb
If you could get pedigree papers on the weaned Highlands I would. For the future….
Too many highlands! I was wondering where they’ve all gone! 😅
Love your Duanes hat Tom....from my local agri store Kiltullagh Co. Galway.
omg early! love your vids x
If it was not because I’m in Denmark , I would be happy to buy one or two of the highlanders
They would be perfect here as we need some New blod 😊
Again a great video 👍thanks
Greetings Jonny
Soft weaning is kinder to mums and calves when you can do it. It's a pity it's not so easy with the milkers.
I like the idea of almost starting over with the Highlands so you can 'Pemberton' the young ladies. That Harriet can be a menace so yeah, maybe sell her and the other ginger mum on with calf at foot. ❤
Tom, just a thought, if you’re keeping the heras fence for any length of time why not consider getting a couple of Heras vehicle gates so you don’t have to drag the fencing all the time, they are very cheap and easy to set up.
Tom how is your wife and son doing May God bless you all.
Just call YOU lazy?! THAT made me laugh out loud.
Are all the calves except megans papered? You could sell the mums and calves you don't want for good money with papers. The ones you want to keep, would putting Hugo in with them help tame them down,? No one would be mad at you about the pool table that would have been the least of your worries these past weeks. With Jo sick and in hospital, newborn who isn't sleeping well at night and all you have going on the farm is too much for anyone. Hopefully now that Jo's feeling better and Harvey is over 2 months old. You can now get him into a routine where he will start sleeping all night and all will be better for everyone . You have records of all your cow's now so when there are still births you can also record what might have happened ( calf big got stuck,) or whatever and that will help when you do these checks. Love your channel and your family hope all goes well from now on !!!
pmsl was watching your video and at 4:06 when you started to try to move the cattle with the strange whistle, my cat jumped up and ran to the otherside of my flat. Hope everyone is doing ok.
Great separation strategy. Have you checked your FB page lately, only because there seems to be some strange videos appearing? Great vlog as always Tom. 👍👍👍🇬🇧
LEGENDAIRY ??
A good farmer keeps his equipment clean!
Nice
Solid work Tom - Quick Question - Do your highlands ever get "processed" and is there a big difference between the end product?
Yes, they do - saw it in a previous video. The meat gets labeled as being from Highlands, and I believe it is sold in the family’s farm shop. I believe I’ve heard certain chefs have developed specific recipes to make the qualities and flavor unique to Highlands, stand out - but I’m not talented enough in the kitchen to taste the difference.
If sold through the farm shop or similar the meat will be worth a premium, if you sent them to a commercial slaughter house they would be a financial disaster. Strange world we live in
great video tom how is harvey and joanna doing
Just gutted they won’t be so small when we are able to come up 🤣🤣
1:38 Don't you wish they has a super slow speed creep buttons on the back fender?
Tom. I have a question for you. Why did you and Luke bury the old fuel tank beneath the muck bay. Did it have something to do with the separator?
Makes sense to reduce the Highlands because they are a hazard to manage. If you keep Meghan have you thought that perhaps a couple of Belties might be an equally spectacular, but much safer option? - Says he who was bunted over a wall when (aged 14) I inadvertently walked between a Galloway calf and her mum. Even without horns they can do a bit of damage. 😄
Who doesn’t love the HAIRY COOS aka Scottish Highland Coos.
You should adjust the drawbar height on the trailer so it runs level behind tractor
Megan knew where the camera was that was weird. Did Nigel get the highlands in ca lf? Great job on the trailer hitch you are a legend 🎉
That's a normal process. The cows need some time to get in top condition for the birth of the next calf.
107th! GOOD TUESDAY AFTERNOON TOM,LUKE,HIEDIE, THE GINGER WARRIOR WITH A MUSTACHE! Roger in Pierre South Dakota USA
Hmm hard decision but I vote haulers train ..😮❤
Maybe you could demo a fendt telehandler, that could be a good telehandler.
I’m needing a Milk Shake fix…
What flavours do you have in atm Tom?
That aside cracking wee video love the Highland Coos 🏴
I would be surprised if it was easy to halter train them now, my Dad started halter training at about two weeks
They are truly like teddy bears, love Highland calves😊I’d like one as a pet if they stayed small…🤔hmm, and poo’d less🙄😬
Brand new parlour but no gates !
🙈😂
TOM! The last thing you are is lazy!!! Love you, and the farm + family.
Legend Dairy Tom? Is that a Dad joke? Hahaha
Red tractor. Just renewed ours then a few weeks later we had a visit from the abattoir we sell to and they wanted to look at a lot of the same stuff🤷♂️. What’s the point do they not trust red tractor
I have a halter trained highland heifer u should try training your calves aswell
‘Sorted suzie out’ 🙈🙈
That book I sent you on riding cattle should have a guide to halter training. You may have already waited too long, though.
💯☺️
