Tomas you have such good help in Anna who’s got the best attitude for a farm helper it’s just a blessing how she sneaks in on the videos! Do me a favor let her do the singing on the video as you sound like that squacking four year old.
good thing Anna is there to keep Tom in line, and I agree let someone else do the singing because you sound like the squacking albatross in the Disney movie The Little Mermaid
Notice that the Highland cattle were out of ear shot, when you said they were useless. 🤣😂 Anna should have her own U-tube channel, think she's a real star. 👍
Tom Tom Tom !!! Don't ever complain about the rain !! It's not surprising it's so wet up there with you !! 😮🎶🎶 You need to release a TH-cam soundtrack, I'm forever downloading your music 👍😊
Great video nice to see some livestock work I love the mix of breeds you have its really interesting and they seem to serve you well nice to see someone going away from holsteins and back to more traditional breeds Great youve now got some good staff Anna seems to have settled in nicely
I am happy with what ever you have to time to put out. Just no idea how you keep track of it all. Bummer now have to wait till next Tuesday for another video. Thanks BC Canada
Yep saw the splash first off Anna but had to go back and see it again!! And such a great farmhand!! I like seeing whatever you do....I'll just let YOU decide!! Have a great day.
Good video Tom. It is great to catch up on things you were doing over the last while, but did not have time to post. It is good to see “how the sausages are made”, so to speak. It helps us to see how you made decisions, like what age to put the young heifers with that handsome young bull. 👍😊👍
I really like the animals and learning about them Because of you and your dad, I was able to answer a question my husband asked me about cows and eat grass and break it down to make milk 😅
Thanks for the video Tom. I was really thinking we need more cowbell… Tractors and tractor bits are cool, but those highlands are fantastic!! BeWell and StaySafe Everyone ✌️
My grandad got a new bull. He went out amongst the herd and got straight to work. After a day or 2 he went over under a shade tree and lay down lookin sick. Gramps called the vet and he came right over and examined the bull and gave grandad a bottle of pills. He told him to give the bull 1 pill a day. Gramps did and after 2 days the bull jumped to his feet and went back out and finished off the herd. I asked grandad what do you suppose was in those pills? He said dunno fer sure, but they tasted a lot like peppermint. !
Tommy Tom! I have an idea for a video idea… I’d love to see a rundown (high level) of the whole process of cow farming. Including everything… there’s so many bits as I watch videos I just never knew about.
MOO vin cows. 🐄🐄🐄The edit's kinda confused me, like shuffling sheep or playing chess ♟♟♟Great to see Anna, she is a real asset to the team. What are her future plans, vet / agri college? You need to get Katie in the picture too Tom. Be sure to try some Currywurst , zigeunerschnitzel and pomme frites on your trip to Germany.
I love that cute cow that you have that is like a roan colour, black white grey hair interspersed face . In horse it's called Roan. I don't know what it's called in Cow.
Well, now I understand why my great uncles that worked cattle used old telephone poles that didn't have rot, cut them in thirds, and then sank tandem polls like O[]O on either side of a fence post about 20 feet either side of the gates and used the biggest J lag in hinge posts to hand gates off of. They had about 5 feet of telephone pole buried and stout 2x8 planks for fence slats. They did it because when the herd walks through the gates, they tend to just bounce into the fence posts around the gates... Maybe do that, keep the gates standing.
Could someone please tell me the name/artist of the song near the start of the video? Seen the peak and valley. I've tried searching and I can't find it and it's really doing my head in.
Humans in principle are all born premature as a compromise to standing upright. Taking this out the equation we would be closer to 11 months gestation.
The difference is that with big bales you have to Cary hundreds of round balck 600kilo bales and with silage you can carry a lot faster and as well you don’t have to load
I'll take a guess since my entire farming experience is watching Tom's videos. Silage is collected by the chopper which chops and adds additives, it's then stored in the clamp and rolled to allow the additive to work and "improve" the grass. Big bales is collected from the ground by a baler, it's not chopped so doesn't have additive, and it's wrapped and then needs stacked somewhere and watching Tom, it looks like theyre never stored in the correct place as he's always moving them multiple times. Happy for a real farmer to explain properly.
@@graememckay9972 Balers can cut for a farm Toms size a sillage pit works better! .. more hussel with those lummpy bales .. smaller farms .. bales are more better

It’s nice that you touched on the retiring milkers today, think it’s important that people know the cows don’t last forever 😮

Gestation for an elephant is 22 months. That's even lo0nger than the largest animal the blue whale, their gestation is around 10-11 months.
Humans in principle are all born premature as a compromise to standing upright. Taking this out the equation we would be closer to 11 months gestation.
Crackin video Tom. Machinery or stock or construction, makes no difference to me. Hope your time in Germany goes well.
😂😂😂 gotta have the cow karaoki
Hi Tom, could you explain the difference between silage and big bales? And your hatred of big bales?
The difference is that with big bales you have to Cary hundreds of round balck 600kilo bales and with silage you can carry a lot faster and as well you don’t have to load
Silage and big bales are different in quality and nutrition as well. Moving and storing big bales is a lot more work.
I'll take a guess since my entire farming experience is watching Tom's videos.
