For anyone else wondering i just tested it and if you pop a golden fowl foot immediately before dropping it will in fact last long enough to apply to the runes obtained after falling.
I failed to remember to pop a golden fowl foot 😫😩😩😫

Edit: it was how I jumped, I guess lol it finally worked!!!
And if you forget, you can always do the bird rune farm.
I prefer my method of dying approximately 87 times and then getting lucky on my 88th attempt.

It is!!! I missed it the first few times then I understood why he said double jump beforehand.
If you struggle with your horse disappearing in the gap like i did you can keep traversinf the rocks past the gap and double jump off the edge of the map works the same

@@chrisingram8233 well I certainly didn't think he was easy. even with mohg's shackle, black tiche summon, and the purifying crystal tear I had a struggle and took me several tries. but I did get through it.
@@hatefulworld5965 mid game? you can't reach him until you unlock the snowfields where the portal is located. That is definitely late game stuff.

@@nunniunI just figured out why it isn’t working bro, so basically you wanna go up and enter the boss battle until his health bar shows up, then exit to title screen, then load back in go back down, and then try it from there and it works

As of August 20th, 2023, it still works! The double jump at the end for the melee is crucial for this to work.

If it’s taking a while to activate the runes. Keep swinging your sword and tilt the L stick side to side.

No longer works post dlc, I believe they added a giant kill screen floor in the whole area because of the many glitches just like this, was a good time but now we must play the game normally I suppose.

Just did this on PS5 and it worked perfectly!! I even had on the golden scarab and used a golden fowl foot and got 797,617 runes... Nice!!

Doesn’t work anymore I reset the boss went down in the crack double jumped swung my sword over and over again and died nothing happened
Just use your mimic tear and get him to max level
Yes, an excellent cheese, that goes well with red wine.
I hate jumping games and it took me many, many attempts to make that second jump onto that large ledge.
I also forgot to double jump with Torrent into the bottomless ravine.
Even though I made so many blunders I managed to be successful in the end. So I urge all my big clumsy thumbed comrades to persevere and never give up, unless you go for a cup of tea etc.
I did like 10 attempts and then just gave up and actually killed him with physic that makes you immune to his AOEs

Still works (6-august-2023) but you have to enter the boss arena, log out, re enter and go back trough the elevator, don't tp to the site of grace, you can use a gold chicken to increment the runes ;)
This should be pinned. Important step right here, is the ''enter the boss arena, log out'' and then go down the elevator and do the cheese.

After repeated failures to make those rock ledge jumps, I think it might be easier to just beat Mohg!

I've been trying to replicate this glitch on PC and apparently it kills mods around but does not kill Mohg? Any idea as to why this is?
Edit: Forgot to quit out of the game when entering Mohg's areana. It worked perfectly fine! *Thumbs up*

@@mus3591 you have to double jump from the ledge as you drop into the gap, otherwise you just fall and die. Double jumping clears the invisible wall and allows movement 👍
@@mus3591 Mathew said it best. You have to time time the jump.
1. Make sure you double jump, this makes your player model not register Torrent as "falling" but "jumping"
2. This allows your character to register as "mobile" and allows you to attack.
3. The reason you time the second jump slightly later is to gain distance away from the rocks, which puts you out of bounds of the map. If you are registered inside the map then you fall to your death, but outside it will constantly try to register your player position on torrent.

Thanks Guru! As of January 2024 it still works. Soooo much cheese. I gave Mohg a pretty good go, but in the end the fromage won. With the scarab and the yellow bird foot you'll be swimming in runes!
