Radahn was serving my ass on a golden plater until I decided to suck it up and use a shield. I used that “reflect” tear then Radahn went from the most BULLSHIT I’ve ever experienced in a boss fight to the most FUN i’ve had in a while. Now I wanna play throughout the whole game like this!

Not just that tear, but just using guard counter is great even if you aren't using the tear. The dlc bosses are just more suited for it and the tear makes it even better. Loved playing through Erdtree bosses mostly using guard counters. Especially fights like Messmer, Midra and Rellana. The last boss also kind of. Fun to try to to abuse the guard counters and watch him seethed for half a second after one

I would just like to add that it was great seeing your dlc build because I did pretty much the exact same thing as you, so it's nice watching you feed my superiority complex
The deflect tear and dueling shield got me through the final boss. It’s amazing, because after every attack the shield also acts as a shield, so if you time it right you can have a beautiful flow of attacks and deflects that don’t interrupt the combo.

Did most of the DLC with the Dryleaf arts paired with the deflect tear and there is nothing more satisfying than deflecting these monsters with your barehands and then eviscerate them with martial arts, i can reccomend anyone try that combo out, its so much fun.
@@jakestaheli8532 I feel it's too powerful to be a talisman. Talisman give like 10-25% stat bonuses on certain things, not completely change how you can play a character.
@@TuxedoKamina radagons soreseal, two handing talisman, the maxed out drake talismans, the great jar arsenal talisman, there are plenty of talismans that are super op, having this as one of them wouldn't be too bad.
The only thing i really miss of the old silent content (the one with the robotic voice) is your ispirational montages on hard bosses I use to be at work struggling and thinking "if Lenny did Orphan of Kos at lv1, i can get to the end of the day alive"

I know he's said he didn't enjoy Lies of P, but how that game did combat and parrying really resonated with me, and it instantly rose to one of my very favourite games. And now, I can get that kind of gameplay in Elden Ring? I'm beyond excited for going through the main game with this Tear, it's so satisfying to use!

Well this is some funny timing to see, considering I'm in the middle of a no rolling run myself so of course Lenny just takes it to the next level lol Heavy agreement on his point around Margit though, had the same issue doing a similar run in DS3 - getting knocked down (which can happen a lot against big bosses) is crazy lethal because you can't roll to get back up.
Don't know if anyone said it but you can completely skip stormveil castle by getting the servant who tells you about the secret way into the castle to raise the main gate. Then you can just run straight to the boss room without fighting through the walls and main castle.
When the easiest way to beat Malenia in the base game was greatshield + rapier, it's unsurprising that the healback is not a real issue with the deflect tear. People overrate the importance of the healback because it feels extremely frustrating when you're struggling against the boss and trying to heal and run away and so on and the boss that is already hard is actively deleting your progress against it, but it's basically nothing when you're using a strategy that allows you to deal consistent damage and also avoid most damage.
I still have to test that, But the Fun of the Deflecting Tear for me is that for some reason I fell you can to a Guard counter much earlier and faster than before; This makes Guard counters so much fun
they guard counter on milady/light greatswords is rather nice as well because you advance while you do the attack, might help for some of the range and aim issues, though i know i didn't make it to the streams to suggest this live i figured i might as well say it for other people who are interested
I think that the best way to use this Hardtear (which i think you may have said in the video) is to not substitute the roll with it, because it simply doesnt work for a lot of attacks, but it can be used to nullify a lot of attacks that you just cannot get the timings for (obviously the Cross Slash is the biggest example of this)
Even pre-deflection tear, blocking was always the way to deal with waterfowl. Just have to make sure you're wearing the greatshield talisman. Sure, the healback sucks, but it's a lot easier than trying to dodge it.
Pretty sure you can't dodge all attacks in Sekiro, you don't get i-frames the sale way you do in other Fromsoftware games. And believe me, banning dodge roll is the only way for this to be a challenge run 😅

nah, then you would not even be able to use it in coop, which would limit its uses, and would be annoying to keep having to use rune arcs

I think the Smithscript Cirque blocks with the L1 from recollection and has a throw counter, it's really smooth looking too.

Beast Clergyman is especially good for deflecting melee-wise because his moveset is almost entirely Guardian Ape's sword phase from Sekiro.

it only took 2 years for us to get a reliable (and not asinine) method of countering waterfowl dance
