I've decided to stop thinking too much about the Impressions and Views and instead to fall in love with the process and have a space to create a library of content that I am proud of. :)
@@BebaCalvert I stopped caring about metrics a long time ago, and it earned me a viral video. That video is just unused footage that I put together since a fan asked for it. It's not really edited properly at all, and here it is taking off. I create content that I love creating, whether I get 100 views or 100k views. It doesn't matter to me. Some videos will strike gold, others will not. It is what it is. Focus on creating what you love. That is the best thing to do. But while doing that, make sure to keep to one niche, since that is the main driving force of your channel and the algorithm. It finds your audience by being persistent in one particular niche. Being all over the place will only hurt your channels performance, whether you care about metrics or not.
TH-cam changed mid 2023 and started pushing shorts, which took up a huge chunk of the main page. They also started posting ads and sponsored posts in the spots for long form videos. Most long form creators too a huge hit since their videos weren't being recommended as much. That's why in January of this year you saw all those large channels quitting or scaling back. I'd expect to see another round of this again this January after creators have a poor December, which is supposed to be the best month for revenue. I regularly run into subscribers who ask why I stopped making videos when I never stopped. YT just stopped recommending my videos to many of my subscribers.
Same for me. Since shorts came, my last good year was in 2022. Since then I dropped and I couldnt get it back. I did a lot of changes this year so Im still being positive about it. But a lot of people also are not getting recommendations for my vids. As I said, I didnt give up yet, I like to do what I do, and I see some positive things happening after a huge analysis and changes I did😃
@@BeamngTV I cover classic car shows and events. I’m not giving up since I enjoy making these videos and meeting people while doing so. I don’t have the budget to travel further to film anymore and have had to scale back on my costs. I keep hoping that TH-cam will fix things.
This is exactly right. TH-cam pushes shorts too much and I found if I don't do shorts my channel just dies. My shorts average 10 cents per thousand views.
@@MikeFrankovich Same here. In some of my videos is a story telling and the voice actors could get pretty expensive.. So I got also pretty limited with budget.
They always say "Don't think of youtube as PUSHING your content, think of the audience PULLING your content." That's...hard to believe. When my {other} channel first started, the content was terrible but the views were through the roof because YT GAVE ME IMPRESSIONS. As time passed, my content got way better with much, much more engagement and excellent ratios...but my views have absolutely stopped. YT is NOT giving me impressions anymore. And that doesn't seem like it has anything to do with the audience. The platform is literally NOT promoting my channel TO THE AUDIENCE anymore, even though the content is objectively superior to before (I can prove it). You get views when you get impressions. If youtube doesn't give you impressions, you don't get views. If this is a pay to play scam, where do I pay?
@@alexamplatz I took a look at your channel and I think you confused the algorithm by posting speedfly videos and then battlefield in between. Your target audience has been divided and I guess YT doesn’t now know who to push your content to. It’s just a thought. I’m only a small time creator so I don’t know much ☺️
I had a short do really well (for me on my main channel) and YT is still promoting it 45 days later. The next short I did in the series had WAY better analytics and it was skyrocketing better than the previous short at the same place marks. YT stopped impressions and it died. I don't get what YT is looking for. All these how to channels say they know and that "this is how it works" but it is entirely false in my opinion. YT algorithm is all over the place. Analytics mean nothing
@@CJsTakes13the most sense I've heard about that is that the youtube algorithm is running machine learning. So it is litterally a machine making decisions based on previous outcomes of decisions it has made. Ofc it's gonna do some weird things every now and again.
Same is the case with me 😢 ... When I started uploading videos 1.5 years ago... I immediately started getting views on my channel... All due to good number of impressions.. even when everything... The packaging.. the video quality.. everything was below par ... Now when everything has improved a lot .. reflected through analytics and audience comments .. still after 90+ videos... I have been searching for THAT video ... I'm not complaining but just curious to know what can I do better to tame the algorithm...
TH-cam doesn't hate anyone's channels, they just push big names and authoratative content more. I did a big investigation into this and spied on the raters that rate our videos. We get a reputation score, and if you are a famous person with no bad press, you get a good reputation score. This pushes you above other channels as more relevant. If you are a big media company, then you get pushed out more. The algorithms are trained to do this, and it's not right. TH-cam was a lot better years ago.
I agree. I’ve been here since the inception of TH-cam (I’m old.) Big corporations and content farms have over saturated the platform now. Just means we have to grind that much harder to be seen 😂
Agreed. We are news channel, professional, authorative as far as content. We get impressions thrown to unrelated topics where people come from non topic related videos
@@SeanzViewEnt you are a testament to staying focused and you will succeed. 11 years and thousands of videos later…well done sir. Im a few months into my journey and hope to be successful one day too ☺️
But it sure seems to be the right word... From what I've seen so far: the better my videos got and the more effort I put into them, the harder they flop. I honestly still fail to see a pattern, especially when the vast majority of comments keep telling how underrated my channel is...
1 month old TH-camr here. One thing that is helping me is learning that the video I want to make is not always best for my channel. Being successful on TH-cam is making videos other people want to watch. Now the creative part is finding how to blend the 2 worlds!
This is actually a half truth. If you want to survive on this platform, you have to make content you love creating. It means you have to make content out of your passion in life. Anything else would just become a job without much pay. And hitting it so big you can live off ad dollars is pretty slim in chances. Create what you love doing, and stick to that. There is always people who wants to see that. Saying you should adapt to your audience and find a niche with high yield is nonsense. It gets boring pretty fast.
@ItsMickeyTeller yes, pay attention to the comments people leave. We'll, not the ones that tell you that you suck, but ones that are like hey this is great. Also, watch other creators in your niche to see what they do. Are you watching them because of their content? Then emulate them with your own twist of why you are now making the videos. I dropped my best ever video this past week. I usually test car care chemicals and give a review. In this one I just explained this is how I do x in cold weather. I'll take 300+ watch hours in a few days any day. All because I got the idea from another video I saw from another channel in the same niche and I put my spin on it.
@@mikezupancic2182 Thanks! I think I found a good balance that I'm starting to lean into more. the 2 videos that follow the formula I think is working have both exploded (at least for me) and are out performing anything else I've made. It's not exactly the content I wanted this channel to make, but its adjacent to that content, and I really enjoy doing it and learning the new things I come across. Thanks again!
While I totally understand and mostly agree with what you guys are saying, I still feel like TH-cam, or someone at TH-cam suppressed, and may still be suppressing, my content/channel. Back in June and July when my channel was only 1.5 months old, I started getting views and subscribers like crazy. It continued for exactly 42 days with each day better than the previous. I was getting anywhere from 10-18 subscribers and thousands of views per day. My impressions peaked at over 55,000 in a single day after a 6 week gradual increase with a 6.6% CTR, dropping to over 45,000 impressions the next day, still really good. Then suddenly, the next day, my impressions dropped to 7,000, then a couple days after that, below 3,000. Now I'm lucky to get over 400 impressions per day if I'm not uploading a video that day. Meanwhile, my CTR has soared to 15.8% occasionally and since then an average of 8.6%! I can pinpoint the exact day my channel started getting suppressed, or "shadow banned." If things had stayed constant or even just a little worse than my peak, I'd still be pulling in over 2,000 views per day, but I'm lucky to get over 100. I can't think of any other explanation than TH-cam suppressing or lightly "shadow banning" me especially since I feel like my content has gotten better, my audience retention has been better, my CTR has gotten better, etc. I simply don't understand.
I’ve been uploading videos for a month and have surpassed 100 subscribers, but sometimes I doubt myself, my content, and wonder if becoming a TH-camr is a pointless dream. But you guys help inspire me to keep going, and this gives me hope to try and surpass 200 subscribers by the end of the year.
i've been uploading since 6 years. after 5 years and 400 videos posted i was at 2.300 subscribers. this year i went to 13.600 subscribers after 700 videos published. if you want to make it, you cant pretend to see anything good happening to your channel within the first months (if not in some rare cases), this can take years, otherwise everyone would do it.
As a new channel I have experienced a few times that Old AL (the algorithm) is slow to put it out there, with as few as 11 impressions for the first hour. I believe it is not a "hate" thing, but the period where TH-cam is figuring out where to send the thumbnail. Patience is definitely important with this venture...
I don't think TH-cam hates everyone's channel, you guys just need to be consistent and hardworking, and as usual good luck to everyone pushing up their channel!
Its just more of the same rubbish talk. When the platform won't give your video a chance, then it is dead. It's as simple as that. Example. I had one video that was a 30 minute long form video (the longest I have ever done). Metrics was: 650 impressions, 45.4% CTR, 56% audience retention, 45 likes and 34 comments. What happened? It FLATLINED. Totally dead for over a month before I just deleted it since it was polluting my channel. TH-cam HAS to give you a chance too. If it doesn't, it won't matter if you are the best creator on the platform. I mean, I create model videos. I am a swimwear model, and I do videos mostly in the 2-4 minute range with pretty good stats. EXCEPT for impressions. I mean, on a video with over 2k views, I have about 14k impressions. What is that nonsense? Then, all of a sudden, the algo reacts, and I get a "viral" video, which of course is one of the worst videos I have on my channel, which is closing in on 100k views. Stats on that: 900.5k impressions, 85.1k views, 7.8% CTR, 40.9% AR, 952 likes and 113 comments. THAT is what happens when TH-cam finally decides to give me the impressions I need. the CTP is like 1/7th of that first video I mentioned, and when it started to pick up pace, the stats were all lower than the first video. It truly makes me confused and depressed that it is this way.
AS I NOW KNOW FOR FACT, TH-cam TREATS YOU LIKE TRASH UNLESS YOUR ARE PARTNER MONITIZED. HEARD IT DIRECT FROM SUPPORT SO I KNOW ITS FACT. TRUTH HURTS. YOUR ON YOUR OWN.
@@jasonrobards4939 That is not really true. It helps to he monetized for sure, even if TH-cam says its irrelevant with the algorithm whether you are monetized or not. But it's not really the biggest thing that is driving a channel. Being consistent IN YOUR NICHE (meaning what YOUR audience wants), creating quality content and focus on eye catching thumbnails and descriptions means a lot more. And I am proof of that. My channel is 4 months old. I am not monetized. But I am still able to drive views in the thousands, and even had a viral video already. It is possible with the right combo of luck and skill to get your channel off the ground without getting monetized. You just need to find the balance and figure out what your viewers like about your channel and focus on that.
Yeah the head of the TH-cam algorithm, department keeps saying get your thumbnails titles and hooks up to scratch to get more views, and that youtube will at least give your videos 20-100 impressions, and the rest is up to you to keep viewers interested, that's all well and good if your video's get those test impression, but a lot of the time it wont even show the video to one person, and when you go into analytics and it says 0 impressions or only about 5, and no views, something is clearly wrong with the basics of the algorithm, and it comes in waves also like gaps of about 2-4 weeks of these low view rates on video's, then all of a sudden boom a video will take off just a little bit.
We can't think like this. TH-cam wants us to do well cause they benefit from it. Work with it and not against it. On 635 and heading to 1000 by the end of the year!! Wish me luck!!
I keep seeing your comments on these videos. You have grown quite quickly. Congrats! I am looking forward to reaching my first 100 subscribers. Let's keep posting!
I'll have an mediocre video that will cross 10k, 30k, 70k with the original thumbnail, title and tags within 3-12 days. I'll do another video hitting all the metrics same topic or even a continuation and everything is tweaked..... 10/10 flatline for infinity. It is what it is (frustrating)
Yea how are we supposed to learn from that? You have great views on a video, so u replicate the formula and it tanks. It' s a flip of a coin not actually repeatable knowledge. Very frustrating. Especially when all the GOOFY type videos are effortlessly growing but actual knowledge and entertainment-based content is all over the place. I've seen some really good content, and they have 1k views in a year. YT must not care about quality content only foolish nonsense seems to make it effortlessly. Maybe YT isn't for me. I don't want to make videos I'm not interested in the subject just to make money. Sounds soulless
I used to make videos that I didn't know would perform well because everything just scked... They're deleted now but they got me the subs and views while I didn't do anything. So it aligns with your mediocre videos and very good videos. There's no logic. I could have had a lot of subs if I would have stuck with the type of content I made back then... Now, it's a gamble every single time 😢
What great info. Ok, here I go, starting my channel this week. What a great and supportive community your channel has. Inspiring. Third video coming in hot today! 🎉
11:00 to your final point. It doesn't make sense for YT to not allow you to upload because, for all they know, you're about the drop the biggest video in history. When you have a trillion videos to choose from as vehicles for recouping your investment, you have the pleasure of promoting ONLY the top percentile. That's why yt is successful - SO many people upload that YT is bound to find their ROI among them. And, when they find that video, they promote it and ignore the others. Why wouldn't they? Further, they NEED the 9/10 rando, small creators for every 1/10 big dog. Because we're also the audience. AND, it's always possible that we'll grow into an ROI machine. So, why limit your potential by not allowing uploads? This argument doesn't convince me shadowban isn't a thing. Not saying it's real, but your position hasn't convinced me. Cheers.
@@8-Bit-Babes I NEED VidIQ to respond to this bc I really think I'm onto something. ( PS for youtube: Hiding and deleting comments does nothing but pisss people off.)
I had been live streaming 5 days a week from May until this past week(mid nov). Things were trending upwards until I had a pretty abnormally successful stream late september that doubled my subscriber count. Around mid-October my impressions went from 500-6000 per stream to 30 or less. My assumption is that youtube is testing my streams to my subscribers, and all the people that suddenly subscribed are not coming back for future streams. Additionally, those who do come back can often only stay for a short period. I believe it's a combo of retention issues, and I don't think I have a way to resolve that. It's not that I've changed anything that I've been doing, but audience behavior has changed, which has stunted growth substantially. I'm honestly not sure if i should still be streaming on youtube or if I should be moving to twitch at this point
Streaming ONLY works if you have a basic X amount of support. If nobody of your community watch livestreams then nobody will care. You need your audience to watch and interact and if that goes well, TH-cam will Push it.
@SolvingYourProblemRightNow right, so it doesn't seem that a person can naturally grow via streaming long term on youtube. It initially worked, but the second I received a larger following, it killed my momentum. It doesn't seem like the algorithm knows how to account for user behaviors for streaming. At least not for smaller channels.

What happens is if people aren't in tune with what you have to post, try to seek an audience outside of your normal reach and go from there. When I jumped from one niche and touched others, I had met up with new audiences, triggering TH-cam to try out new things and what resonates. It's best to work with what sticks though. It takes time, you need to build a loyal audience. I would HIGHLY NOT recommend you have people you know subscribe to your channel -- unless you know they will keep checking you out. I had more retention time amd CTR improved from people who I never knew versus the people who say they will support your channel when you mention it to them, like your co-workers, your friends, etc. and barely many of them look at the content you provide, whether it be lack of time, work, etc. Once you build a LOYAL audience, you can start branching out easier and growing at a reasonable pace. Don't be afraid to try new things if you aren't really working things out. If you know you have some pretty great videos but not enough exposure to show them to the others yet because TH-cam hasn't picked the right audience for you, keep those videos there and keep on pushing. You know you've already built up for success in the very long run. Hope mamy of you reach that 1K sub count with time! Don't worry about your sub count and view count way too much at the beginning of the journey, and you will grow naturally when you least expect it. As long as you know you have amazing content, you are already ahead of the pack. Your content will draw people in. I had a unique journey this way -- so many more people met me in person to tell me how good the videos are. Not from the comment section on the Internet as much (for now anyways, my silent audience lol). Cheers!
Slow growing channel. Suddenly, one random video gets tons of impressions (and therefore views), spikes for 3 days, garners tons of likes and 1/3 of my total subs....and then DEATH. If youtube is throwing spaghetti at the wall, why didn't they notice that this one stuck and was doing great? Why did they cease giving me impressions when I was winning their game finally? Why, further, did they throw this video to the 55+ age group? And, if this analytic can be trusted, why didn't they push my other content to this age group? (analytics says my viewers are 25-45). Either they're mistaken about my target demo, or they're too thick to notice when my content finally hits the right chord with the right audience. It's very hard to not take this personally. From my perspective, YT just is not logical. Bonus, why does youtube completely ignore Like/View ratio and View/Sub ratio?? I find these 2 metrics to be INCREDIBLY helpful. It's kind of hilarious that youtube doesn't value them in any way whatsoever, it seems. Thanks for your tips!
I totally agree. One of my videos rolled out and initially got 50 views, 30 likes and 10 subscribers, had 80% average watch duration. It was going strong and then flatlined almost immediately after. It doesn’t make any sense.
@NebulaSnoozeAmbient when you say "DEATH" do you mean to that specific video or your channel as a whole? I focus on live streaming, and from May to mid-October, I was seeing small but steady growth. In September I had a stream almost double my subscribers, things seemed like they were picking up. Only a few weeks later my impressions completely fell flat. From 500-6000 per stream to less than 30. Which implies to me that it's not even showing my subscribers my streams? My assumption is that the large wave of subscribers were interested or wanted to support me, but then didn't feel like coming back after or became busy and didn't have time to dedicate to a stream. Then the lack of action on those impressions being sent out is making TH-cam think my content is no longer good and isn't pushing it as far as it used to. I have no idea though, just a guess
@@ForestKanagawa Fair guess. I was talking about just that one video, but really, everything is down. Oh well, I'm bound to get lucky with a spike one of these days.
I've just uploaded a video yesterday and it's a completely different content from before because I wanted a change of pace from what I usually do from my other videos. I did wanted to be like favorite content creator, MxR Plays, but within the gaming sphere. It's sucks they were banned from TH-cam and you can't find them other than on Patreon. With 29 subscribers I have now, I would like my channel to continue to grow and if you guys are interest, the Heimdall community will always welcome you as one of our forces. Let's try to hit 100 subscribers before the end of the year!!!
I am at a point in my TH-cam career where I really stopped giving a s**t about views, retention and everything else. Right now, I am just posting because I think making videos are a fun thing to do. In the past, metrics drove me crazy. There is no logic to the algo at all. One HIGH metric video tanking, and one mediocre video going viral. Things like this is just mind boggling, and makes no sense at all. I have seen this in so many channels that it's not funny. So, as a measure to keep myself sane, I basically stopped looking at the metrics. I know I put out content people like (I mean, a young model in swimwear is always in demand haha), so I am not worried about that. But whether I get 10 views or a million now, I could care less. I didn't start this journey with monetization in mind. All I wanted was to share my passion. I think people worry too much about all these metrics. Try to put them on the back burner, and just enjoy making content. It's very healthy for your mindset to stop obsessing over analytics. The only thing I can recommend is to stay within one field of expertise so that you at least try to help the algo to perhaps promote your content to the right audience. By "perhaps" I do mean that. Sometimes it won't promote at all.. haha.. but it is what it is.
The best athletes in the world use coaches. And those coaches are usually NOT as good an athlete as the person they are coaching. We need someone outside of our own skin to see our faults and recommend improvements. And we need to listen and put what they say into action. In the absence of a coach, the audience becomes your coach...if you'll listen to them by analyzing your stats. But maybe you'll need a coach to help you understand the stats.
Awesome! I used to think the same thing but overtime I’ve learned a great deal and am happier now too. Thanks a bunch folks! Being 300 odd subscribers away from 1k makes everything worth it! Wishing everyone the absolute best 😎
I believe Im very close to getting it right and ny videos start off quite well but then TH-cam suddenly just stops showing my shorts in the feed, which is weird because the retention and viewed to swipe ratio were both good. But anyway, will keep pushing because we're in it for the long run💪🏼
I just wish we could get the algorithm playbook. I have a video from over six months ago just randomly getting tons of views for no apparent reason. My content hasn't changed nor the style in which I deliver it. Just wish I knew how to replicate the success on a consistent basis.
TH-cam dooesn't care loving or hating your channel. Either people enjoying and watching your content and TH-cam can get money from Ads from your video - in this case TH-cam will promote it. On the opposite side - people can't find your content fascinating, not watching it. Of course, there is no point for TH-cam to promote it. Many creators think, that they can start TH-cam channel about "nothing", spend 1h a day to record their speaking-head and succeed with that. That doesn't work anymore. People pay a lot for watching videos - and the payment is their time. And the content should be well prepared and the most important - it should be either entertaining, either helpful. Building a channel - is a job, that requires a strategy and consistency.
as a small 1k channel I think this is gold and you 2 are so freaking great.. if ever in Vail please lmk.. I got you all, just good vibes you all give off, good stuff
To all New TH-camrs. Don’t compare yourself To others, we don’t always need to be ahead of someone else we know. Sometimes it’s not our time just yet, be patient and keep moving.
At the end of the day, TH-cam is a business, and it wants to keep people on the platform, so when you post a video, TH-cam will try to present your video to an audience that would be interested in your content. So ultimately, we need to figure out what the audience wants. As a new creator, I am at the stage where I am trying to learn what the potential audience within my niche wants to watch.
@itsvictoriaangel Fair point. I find that my impressions tend to increase after someone has commented on the video, so I understand the point you are making.
Question.... Does TH-cam punish a creators videos when they flag a video as "made for kids" when it wasn't that to begin with? whenever this happens our views drop and the videos for that week or two suck for views.
This is exactly my problem 100%. I got some really good views. I’m stuck at only 100 subscribers but I’ve only been doing it a few weeks. And now I’ll a subscriber and gain gain couple, etc.. But I had some videos that really got great views for me considering how new I am and how few subscribers I had some that had several hundreds of views and one that had over 2500. And it’s like I just forgot what I was doing and started overthinking, you know what can make them happy , what will make them actually watch me and I have bombed on the past maybe three videos that I posted. And I am just freaked out about it because I don’t know how to stop overthinking.
sometimes it does feel like i don’t get views but i still keep posting because i know one day that video will get views . I can possibly put my videos on end screens and cards to try to get more views on shoes vides .
I just had a setback losing 4 subscribers one day (as a small channel, that's big) but I stayed consistent and gained back 7 subscribers. Don't give up, just stay consistent and success will find you my friends! 🤩
Like you said subscribers mean nothing anymore. Out of Bell Notifications 11 views. On the other hand my age and gender is 100% male and 100% 55 and above for long form videos. My shorts are not matched to my long form in age and gender. Top geographies for my Shorts is 27% India, 73% male and 56% 25 to 44 age group. I have around 5% that watch both my shorts and long form. I do think that this miss match does hurts my channel in youtube has no idea what group to aim the videos at my shorts for younger people in India or older people in the united states. Thanks
Favors Shorts over Long Form, even Though The Platform was built on Long Form Content, Shorts have only been around for half that time, And Shorts are basically Tik Toks.
As a new TH-cam channel, a little over two month and just about to hit 150 Subscribers, its frustrating sometimes but I think it's part of the process when one video gets over 10 000 views, then the next one gets 10 views. Thank you for your awesome videos and constant guidance 🎉🎉🎉
This is great content. I'm partial to my own work. So is everyone on TH-cam. It's hard to understand what others are interested in watching or listening too.
I use to get lots of views on my channel and then all of a sudden I stopped getting views. It's almost like I'm shadowbanned or TH-cam Algorithm shift. I'm so confused.

I’ve been learning how TH-cam doesn’t just ‘push’ content to people watching but ‘pulls’ in viewers searching for the type of content they want to watch. If they come across yours and like it, there it is!
I got more views when I was less than 1K subs. Now after I got over 1K my views got worse because 80% of my views were subs, which eventually was hurting my videos. So, from now on, I’m not going to notify my subs on uploads and let YT find organic viewers. I’m testing it out for the next 8 uploads and see what the data shows.
Hi VidIQ, Want to thank you for providing such a useful information about TH-cam 🙏 Just because of you, our channel already got 38 subscribers and our goal is 40 🎉 Thanks to everyone! ♥️
Almost 550 subs which is amazing! Though I stopped doing quantity over quality since it was ruining my experiment, so I'm back to doing quality videos again. 😊👍
Of course TH-cam doesn't hate its creators, it wouldn't benefit from it. But depending on the mindset, making content for TH-cam can be extremely unrewarding even if you do it for the fun of it lol. After a few days all my videos just flatlined in impressions (sure they get a few here and there still but nothing like at around the time of upload). The result is they just don't get views anymore ahah. But it's a learning experience and success depends on the kind of content produced too. Overall I've been enjoying doing TH-cam but I would NEVER do it full-time. Too stressful and unreliable. I have no clue if the platform will suddenly promote my stuff more, I did hear that's the case but I'm not holding my breath. Even after changing all thumbnails and titles. TLDR: TH-cam doesn't hate and doesn't love. It's just a cold and money-oriented machine lol.
10:10 hehehe I was uploading videos everyday for 75 Days no wonder why my views recently stopped being high like it usually took 6 hours to get 15k but now it takes 4 Days to it almost 10k
Haha I did the same once. Now I just post once, maybe twice a week. Seems to give the algorithm time to find a suitable audience. I like to drag out the last couple of views of my short until its dead. Then post again 😂
@@EtchAndSketch it is possible to cheat that with the view, just upload a copy of a video leave it public for 30 minutes and then delete it, then next day 10k views
I couldn't help but notice that my videos have been shown in the shorts feed and earning shorts and revenue. None of the videos are in the aspect ratio for TH-cam shorts. So I figured part of the lower views for me this month was TH-cam showing my videos in the wrong feed. Anyone catch this for videos between 1 to 3 minutes in length?
I'm amazed that I have as many views and subscribers as I do. I don't have very many, but I just went into this as a hobby. I didn't know what a thumbnail was when I started. I didn't know that there were channels about how to start channels. I just started posting really basic videos.
Same with me I used to get above a thousand views almost every short now, whatever happened, I'm losing and gaining subs and getting rarely above 10 views now. What happened chat?
80% of the times you don't get views is because your ideas just sucks let's be honest, just think before creating the video is it something that you would want to watch? because if it's not appealing to you chances are it won't be appealing to anyone, If you are a new channel do the things mentioned above and when you finally gain an audience you can look up youtube studio's inspiration tab to find what your audience are searching for and start making videos about it Hope we all grow our channels to success
I do think with my videos not getting enough views & watch time it does feel that if it's not TH-cam that hates me it's those who don't watch my videos and don't watch them until the end that hates my channel.
I’m at the dig deeper stage. In public subs I see many accounts that aren’t interacting at all, no comments on videos, shorts or community tab ever. How do I fix these ghost subs?

It is what it is. Focus on creating what you love. That is the best thing to do. But while doing that, make sure to keep to one niche, since that is the main driving force of your channel and the algorithm. It finds your audience by being persistent in one particular niche.

This is exactly right. TH-cam pushes shorts too much and I found if I don't do shorts my channel just dies. My shorts average 10 cents per thousand views.

That's...hard to believe.

I had a short do really well (for me on my main channel) and YT is still promoting it 45 days later.

@@aquagoddesses Yes! That's the part I'm trying to figure out now is how to blend the two worlds. Any advice?

Patience is definitely important with this venture...
same, just uploaded a good vid with only 12 views but compared to vids from the past i believe the views are gonna come in
I don't think TH-cam hates everyone's channel, you guys just need to be consistent and hardworking, and as usual good luck to everyone pushing up their channel!
It’s not the audience when the algorithm is not even trying to pux your videos out , if I get 0 views they didn’t even tried
I have to agree on this sentiment.
@@Captainscifistories Agreed on that.
Totally right
It's not trying because you content isn't entertaining. Just think to yourself, "Why would the algorithm push a video with 5% retention?"
We can't think like this. TH-cam wants us to do well cause they benefit from it. Work with it and not against it.

@SolvingYourProblemRightNow right, so it doesn't seem that a person can naturally grow via streaming long term on youtube.

My reach is very low

@@UntoldScares Hard not to! Ha

WE GOT THIS BOYS NEVER GIVE UP
I am at a point in my TH-cam career where I really stopped giving a s**t about views, retention and everything else.
I almost died in the retention graph. You are superb guys.!!!

To all New TH-camrs. Don’t compare yourself To others, we don’t always need to be ahead of someone else we know. Sometimes it’s not our time just yet, be patient and keep moving.
This one is hard to do, I see myself comparing a lot especially since I'm just starting out
@@TriNintendo But, We have to do.
I think sound " Hate " doesn't compatible on TH-cam. The word " Inspect " is the best
Makes sense only if TH-cam ACTUALLY gives you impressions. But many times they don't even do that.
@itsvictoriaangel Fair point. I find that my impressions tend to increase after someone has commented on the video, so I understand the point you are making.
@@ShammahCorner I had videos with good comments and likes as compared to the views, and still the impressions flatlined faster than anything.
I felt like TH-cam made me fall off when I renamed to “Just A Christian Gamer” so I had to rename it back, I got more views 💀
It's a bit of SEO (title)
Even if you feel like TH-cam hates you, keep doing what you like and believe me, everything will be the way you want it, just keep going 💪
The algorithm doesn’t watch videos. People watch videos…Simple!
@@EtchAndSketch but algo analysize video 🤨
@@MBX_25 agreed but the viewers watch it 👍
@@EtchAndSketch yes
sometimes it does feel like i don’t get views but i still keep posting because i know one day that video will get views . I can possibly put my videos on end screens and cards to try to get more views on shoes vides .
Yea, TH-cam doesn't hate your channel, but people might lol
I just had a setback losing 4 subscribers one day (as a small channel, that's big) but I stayed consistent and gained back 7 subscribers. Don't give up, just stay consistent and success will find you my friends! 🤩
3rd Like 👍🏻
From India 🇮🇳
I don't think youtube hates any channel. only consistency and doing the right thing will help all the creators
Thanks
To all TH-camrs out there. I wish you all good luck on this platform as creators. ❤
You got this!
I would think TH-cam does hate my channel because the algorithm hates me 💀
Nope. Gotta breach the threshold
They have been loving my channel. Or at least the audience has :-) wishing everyone a great day
Thank you, vidiq! Because of this video, i have found my motivation and discipline to upload and edit a new video! ❤
Favors Shorts over Long Form, even Though The Platform was built on Long Form Content, Shorts have only been around for half that time, And Shorts are basically Tik Toks.
Never stop chasing ur dreams guys! ❤

The more and more I dig into TH-cam, the more it reminds me of performing live.
It's not TH-cam destroying you, Your destroying yourself...
You're lucky that you even got 10000 views on your channel I actually had this channel for over 2 years
Happy Thursday everyone! Today is a good day to post!
This is great content. I'm partial to my own work. So is everyone on TH-cam. It's hard to understand what others are interested in watching or listening too.
To all new TH-camrs like me❤ remember to be patient and keep posting. Let's take our time to observe our growth
I use to get lots of views on my channel and then all of a sudden I stopped getting views. It's almost like I'm shadowbanned or TH-cam Algorithm shift. I'm so confused.
No
They definitely hate mine lol
Me too
Does TH-cam Hate My Channel?

I’ve been learning how TH-cam doesn’t just ‘push’ content to people watching but ‘pulls’ in viewers searching for the type of content they want to watch. If they come across yours and like it, there it is!
That's one of the broadest over simplifications I have ever seen here.
Any ideo how to solve a "build your channel history"
I got more in to a specific type of games & my subscribers have jump up in the past few days
Hi VidIQ,
Want to thank you for providing such a useful information about TH-cam 🙏
Just because of you, our channel already got 38 subscribers and our goal is 40 🎉
Thanks to everyone! ♥️
remember that one time i got 15/10 in the audience thingy, youtube does
Sometimes i think that yt hate me, cuz it takes away subs from viral shorts 😢
My views dropped significantly, so I thought the same at a moment 😂
For us small creators, it can just get confusing when you release a very similar video to a previous banger and the new video just flops. 🙃
@@KrismondStudios Awesome!
🤷♂️
What exactly does external issue mean??
I think the title is for me 😢, youtube really hates me
No
10:10 hehehe I was uploading videos everyday for 75 Days no wonder why my views recently stopped being high like it usually took 6 hours to get 15k but now it takes 4 Days to it almost 10k
@@DanielaNutellaAnimation Cool. But I don’t understand. How does this work?
@@EtchAndSketch I have no idea, YT is just broken
If you are seeing this, I hope your channel grows. I see you, you got this. Let's keep pushing
I like it when Jenn roasts TH-camrs who compain. Her laugh is evil.😂
So with all this said. How often should a channel like mine look at the analytics on the videos?
I couldn't help but notice that my videos have been shown in the shorts feed and earning shorts and revenue. None of the videos are in the aspect ratio for TH-cam shorts. So I figured part of the lower views for me this month was TH-cam showing my videos in the wrong feed. Anyone catch this for videos between 1 to 3 minutes in length?
Just started my channel 2 weeks ago new youtubers dont give up we got this 💪
Just keep uploading everyone! You will get there if you don't get discouraged.
lol the editor had so much fun haha. This was wild!
I'm amazed that I have as many views and subscribers as I do. I don't have very many, but I just went into this as a hobby. I didn't know what a thumbnail was when I started. I didn't know that there were channels about how to start channels. I just started posting really basic videos.
Keep putting out videos . Focus on giving value and stop focusing on the numbers when you’re just starting
Yes!
I just wish watch hours from shorts counted for monetization. No one watches my long form videos...
Same with me I used to get above a thousand views almost every short now, whatever happened, I'm losing and gaining subs and getting rarely above 10 views now. What happened chat?
80% of the times you don't get views is because your ideas just sucks let's be honest, just think before creating the video is it something that you would want to watch? because if it's not appealing to you chances are it won't be appealing to anyone,
If you are a new channel do the things mentioned above and when you finally gain an audience you can look up youtube studio's inspiration tab to find what your audience are searching for and start making videos about it
Hope we all grow our channels to success
I do think with my videos not getting enough views & watch time it does feel that if it's not TH-cam that hates me it's those who don't watch my videos and don't watch them until the end that hates my channel.
I’m at the dig deeper stage. In public subs I see many accounts that aren’t interacting at all, no comments on videos, shorts or community tab ever. How do I fix these ghost subs?
Consistency is key and improvement is part of the journey so just keep going and never give up 👍
Atleast I don't use AI to make my videos.
Annoying Small Creator: "OMG I got shadow-banned! YT hates me"
Me: "um, why wouldn't they let u upload in the first place if that's the case? it costs them money to store unused footage lol"
