Very nice! We lived for many years in Fukuoka, been to all the places you visited. Kagoshima is a favorite, a pretty little city and good food and sake. Sakurajima has a massive eruption right now Nov-24. Yoshinoya and also Matsuya are great beef bowl chains. Mentaiko is wonderful, a tip is to buy broken mentaiko if you are going to eat it the same day, a third of the price, if it is not a gift of course. Motsunabe is very good, some European recipes call for the motsu to be cooked for many hours, I had motsunabe with cabbage in Fukuoka cooked for 15 minutes! But it takes a lot of prepping and cutting first. There are many onsens and ryokans in Oita and also in Saga prefecture. Saga wagyu beef is just as good as Kobe beef. A tip is to contact a travel agency to look for special prices for onsens and ryokans in advance, off big weekends and holidays, it can be affordable and a very special experience. Nagasaki is extremely hilly and the atomic bomb museum etc is very gloomy, as in Hiroshima, not recommended. But the view of the city at night from the other side of the bay is spectacular. And, yes, many places close very early, even in Chinatown. Miyazaki has great chicken and beef plus ofc seafood. Great clip! Arigato and xiexie.
Hey Mike, thanks for dropping all the great tips! I still think about the Kyushu trip from time to time! I am inspired to be living in Japan one day. Thanks for stopping by😇
You seem to like trying the food where you are 😊. I live in Kagoshima. Im glad you spent more than a few hours here. FYI Sakurajima hasnt been an island in over 100 years. It's an interesting place to visit. Whats "Juan" Central Station? I'm trying to figure that out. You were good to go in May. Its the end of the most comfortable timevto vidit weather wise.
Thanks for the video, how many hours did you have to drive in total? any of the location or place of interest you feel can be skip if running short of time?
@@jonho6038 Hi John, thanks for stopping by! In total, we’ve drove for around 14-16 hours for the whole trip from Fukuoka to Kagoshima. I would recommend skipping cape toi/miyazaki if the weather is not its best! Hope this helps!

Nice itinerary. But I couldn't watch after 10 minutes. Try to steady your camera the next time!
