"Please walk down this path to get to the bridge. You will find the arch bridge over there just like the one before us. This one is called Mei Hachi Bashi and that one over there is called Mei Jyuu Bashi, build in Meiji 8 and Meiji 10, respectively" said he.
Excellent translation. Thank you!
Which means one of the bridges was built in 1876 (Meiji-hachinen = 8th year of Emperor Meiji’s reign) and the other was built in 1878 (Meiji-junen = the 10th year of Emperor Meiji’s reign)
Thank you for sharing ✌🏻
By far, you both are my favourite travel channel.. Love your take and pov of Japan (and travels, in general)!
And even after I've seen all your vids, I love leaving them in the background while I do some light work and follow along your trips. ❣
Glad you are feeling better Ralph!
Love to hear that! Thank you so much for the kind words 😊🤍 Hope the background music helps you be more productive too! ✌🏻
私は日本人ですが、お二人の視点を通して見る日本は、私が知っている日本よりも素敵に見えます☺️
Thank you for making time to comment. We are glad to add beauty to your perspective. Japan is beautiful 🌸😌😌🌸
I’m moving to Kumamoto in August with my husband and kids and I’ve never been before. Yours is the best video I’ve come across showing Kumamoto! I’m so sorry you got sick, but I’m really happy about you sharing your experience 🙏🏻
Wow, what a move! We really enjoyed the vibe of Kumamoto and would definitely visit again. Such a beautiful little city. Wishing you all the best on your big move. 🤍 And thanks for the well wishes! The doctor in Kumamoto was so helpful and kind.
Another lovely Japan travel video, thank you ❤ Sometimes it feels like these videos are all about Ralph eating eggs in various shapes, forms and cooking methods! 😂
😆🥚😊 what can I say, eggs are not only delish but nutrish 🥚🥚🥸🥚🥚
Absolutely 😄 Anyway, love your videos and travel choices, keep them coming! Cheers
I had stomach sickness in Nagasaki I met a lady as I was walking to my hotel in Hakata as took train early morning had thrown up all night before and Diarrea was awful she took me to pharmacy and got medicine for me .I went to bed when I checked in to hotel early afternoon slept the medicine was so good .I did not eat for 3 days just drank so much water .At home my doctor gave me that medicine you got last summer acid reflex really helps .I think the food in Nagasaki made me ill .I am more careful what I eat on my Japan trips food can be to rich .Glad you got good care .
Sorry to hear that! You're very lucky you met that lady who helped take you to the pharmacy. Stomach sickness on a trip is no joke. And you're right, definitely led us to be more careful on our future trips by moderating how much rich food we enjoy. Hope all is well with you now 😊
Falling sick either before or during a trip has always been one of my greatest fear and it's right up there next to missing a flight. Glad everything turned out well for Ralph 🙏 Also your vlogs, especially those in Japan, always make me wish I have a bottomless pit of a stomach so I can sample all those food!
Thank you! With how often we travel, getting sick was bound to be experienced. Hope I come out stronger. Fingers crossed for all of us 🤞🏼🤞🏼
You guys definitely make the best chill vlogs on TH-cam (especially Japan ones.) And I didn’t know I liked cameras 📷 so much until I found this channel. Hope the medical issues are good now 🙏🏼
Thankfully got better with presription meds! Yes we try to include all our film pics for the memories 🌸🎞 nice username and thumbnail by the way 😊
I really enjoy watching your videos, you are my favorite TH-cam couple❤
Cheers and thank you for watching! 😊✌🏻
Glad you are ok and got the medical attention you needed. I have just come back from Japan where I also ended up spending most of the day in a clinic getting medical help for badly infected bug bites. Got 4 kinds of internal and external medicine, all with print outs in English. Final costs: 8500 yen in total. Staff all spoke really good English. This was in Kamakura, like you said I was glad I was in a smaller town rather than Tokyo where I was staying. Left very impressed with Japanese healthcare.
Wow now that's a story! What kind of bugs? Where in Kamakura did you go? Did you recover quickly? Glad you got impressive local help ❤️
Not sure of the kind of bugs. Maybe black flies, maybe bed bugs 🤢 The anti biotics stopped the infection quickly and the creams healed the wound and stopped the itching. It was KaMarin dermatology clinic in Kamakura. And tourist information in Enoshima and Kamakura were a huge help.
❤❤❤❤❤
🤍🤍🤍
Thank you Ralph and Sam for sharing this beautiful city in Japan. I wish I can plan to visit someday soon. What’s the name of that hotel by the way? It is so nice and helpful with the in room facilities.
It is scary getting sick while travelling in a foreign country. The travel insurance is definitely worth it. Glad to hear Ralph could get help quickly and got better with much needed treatment 😊
Our hotel was Fav Hotel Kumamoto 🤍 They were also nice enough to help us make a hospital appointment 😊 Can't recommend them enough
@@RalphSam Thank you so much with the recommendation. Look forward to see your next travel adventure 😊
I LOVE your style of videos, and just got back from Japan myself and you captured it beautifully. My favorite is when you insert the film photos you took with the video.
Thank you so much for watching ! 😊📸
I love these videos indeed. I think you both are coming up in the ranks of showing the most videos of traveling to Japan. keep bringing them on!!!!!!!! much love from NEW YORK!!

Glad I recovered in 2 days but it was crazy! Thanks for watching and supporting ❤️🌸
Glad it wasn't too serious Ralph and that it wasn't crazy expensive to visit the doctor and to get the medicine. I hope you are all well now!
Very lucky on both counts. Thank you for the well wishes. All better now 🙏😊

I enjoyed your new video . Please take care 💐🌈
Thank you! Feeling better with the right prescription medicine 😌👍🏽
Thanks for visiting my hometown!
I am sorry to hear about your abdominal pain.
I am glad you were able to get treatment.
I wish you a healthy journey ahead!
We still enjoyed your hometown. Kumamoto was peaceful and beautiful 🌸 thank you for your comment
The man who manages the riverside explained the history of the bridge!
素敵!
Amazing ❤❤❤
Thank you! 😊🙏
3:43 In this scene, Ralph is my spirit animal. Appreciate the narration too! Love it!
Hahaha it's the Kumamoto breeze effect
Ralph, I'm glad you are ok! The end of the video was scary! If you mentioned gastritis, please have your gallbladder checked out. Something similar happened to me and well, I don't have my gallbladder any longer. Life changes. I wish you well brother. Thankfully Sam was there! Our better halves are there for us through thick and thin!
Thank you! No way, thats even scarier! Are you okay now?
@@RalphSam yup yup. I’m going on two years and the surgery scars are nearly gone. Small adjustment with diet and stuff but overall life is good. The wife really pampered me but when I was able bodied she said you’re on your own. 😂 I’m sure Sam has tough love too. 🙂 Must be the island blood. Haha
yes new vlog, I can't believe they still have cherry blossoms, I assume this is mid-May? Glad you are okay
Thanks! End of March actually. Part 6 of our Spring in Japan vlog series 🌸😊😊🌸
What month did you guys visit Kumamoto? Planning a trip to the Kyushu region next spring and I want to make sure we catch the cherry blossoms.
We arrived in Kyushu the day the cherry blossoms were forecasted but they were famously late this year! They only bloomed a week later, around March 31. By then they were in full bloom in Kumamoto and Fukuoka. 😊
@@RalphSam Thanks!
So sorry that Ralph had such a bad experience. Glad he had Sam and doctors to help him. Was this an extension of your Hiroshima holiday, or another trip? Very interesting. Thank you. X
This was right after our Hiroshima trip. We have a couple more Kyushu videos to edit! 😊 Thanks so much for watching 🤍
Poor ralph 😢😢 hope u are safe and well now
Thanks for the well wishes! I did much better on the third day after 😌✌🏽👍🏽
4:55 You had me at sashimi ❤
So fresh!
Gosh thank goodness you’re ok! And definitely lucky it wasn’t appendicitis! I never ever travel without travel insurance because of situations like this…worst case scenario…I’ve only ever gotten sick once really badly on holidays, and thankfully it cleared up after taking some panadol and sleeping it off. Thankfully you’re all ok and it was nothing serious!
Thankfully felt fine the next day with presription meds! Thank you so much for relating to me ❤️
Every traveler's nightmare is getting sick while on a trip. It's a good thing you only had minor issues and you have a supportive wife to look after you. Take care, we need more Japan vlogs from you guys. Haha. Oh, the gardener has that thick "grandpa" accent but was basically saying the history of the place how a particular area as built on the the eight year of the Meiji period which was 1875 and another on the tenth year, 1877. :)
Thanks for the kind words and the translation! Love the grandpa energy. What part of Japan are you from? 🌸
@@RalphSam yeah, grandpa seems fun. I’m from Manila. Just that I frequent Japan because I fell in love with country after my study tour days in Tokyo when I was in college. Also a good way for me to keep my Nihongo in check. :)
I just left japan about three days ago, and I've been dealing with the stomach flu! It was an awful flight back.
Oh no! Wishing you a speedy recovery 🙏
How is your stomach feeling after that?
Please take care of yourself and continue your journey.
I hope you recover and can enjoy Japanese food again 😃
I felt weak the next day but I even went to two castles. Japanese food made me strong again 😄🌸 thank you for wishing me well, appreciate it!
Oh my. Glad all is well now, Ralph! 😊 What do you think was the culrpit of your gastritis? Could it have been the sake? 😢 Travel insurance is so important. Glad the medical care didn't break the bank and more importantly, so so reliable! Gotta hand it to the Japanese.
Thank you! It might have been the sake because I had a refill but could not know for sure. I was in good Japanese hands though ✌🏽🍶
I’m so sorry you got sick! My husband and I also got sick in / after Hiroshima. I also felt dizzy, lots of pain and 🤮 We assume it was food poisoning, my husband had to go to the doctor twice because after the first medication it didn’t get better and developed and bad gastritis. Both doctors asked if we had Oysters in Hiroshima (we did) and said that they are only safe to eat from September until March and we were there in May. So now I’m gonna research more about sea food before eating them, even in Japan 🙈 we always thought it’s super safe. Hope you’re feeling better, love your videos!
Sorry to hear that! Sounds terrible. Mine might have been an accumulation of all the food. I wouldnt know for sure. Glad we're better now though. No joke getting sick overseas 😊
Love your camera shots. What camera do you use?
Arigato! Olympus mju ii film camera 😉🤌🏽🌸🎞
Thank you for sharing on the hospital part. Getting sick on a vacation is really no joke. Thankfully, you are able to recover quickly. Btw, what is the name of the best hotel in Kumamoto?
It was pretty serious, yes. Thanks for watching til the end! We stayed at Fav hotel. Lots of space 🌸👍🏽
Thanks. Always good. What was the hotel?
Fav Hotel Kumamoto 👍🏽
Haha. I thought you were telling us it was your fave hotel. Hahaha. Omg.

What ic card did you use in trams? Thanks

Do you have the address for the Kaiseki restaurant?
Sure!
梅鉢 on Google Maps
1 Chome-12-3 Senbamachishimo, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto, 860-0018, Japan
Enjoy and kindly say hi to them for us if you go 🌸
What’s the name of the hotel? It’s nice and spacious
Fav hotel 😌🤌🏽
Hôtel ? Name
I’m glad u are ok
Thank you
It's called FAV Hotel Kumamoto
Ano daw cause? Is it h pylori bacteria?
Well I previously had gastritis a few years ago when I had spicy food so I might have a sensitive stomach. I did not get to test for bacteria so hindi namin alam. Pero okay na ako in 2 days after omeprazole and rebapemide.
@@RalphSam ah me too di ako
pwede super oily food and also food with the actual chili seeds so i just remove it.
