I remember Epal did a cartoon show on the NBC station as well growing up.They changed the opening when Dr. Witty made Epal a new hand and incorporated it in the opening.Very creative for its time for local television with a limited budget. We used to pick this up on antenna in NJ back in the day because we had a rotary antenna that could be oriented to any direction, and we used to also watch Creature Features (WNEW 5) Chiller Theater (WPIX 11) and Fright Night (WOR 9) just to name a few of the NY channel frights. And of course we got the UHF thrillers as well! All BEFORE cable!

Dear "Mrhalloweenmovie", so nice of you to mention that Dick Jacobs and his music, because he also did the music that became known on WNEW 5's Creature Features as well, as I remember getting that in New Jersey as a very young boy thanks to living on high elevation and the rotary antenna we had.

I remember this show and all the black and white horror movies they had. Many fond childhood memories.
When I was really little, old enough to know what's going on, but young enough to still believe it was real; my mother would say, hurry up and get ready, the monster movie is on... I would run to my room, rush to get my "cowboy " hat, and cap gun. I would stand guard in front of the tv in the living room ready to shoot any monsters that broke through the tv. My cap gun wouldn't work against any Monsters if I didn't have my cowboy hat on. I would duck behind the cover of living room furniture so I could get the right shot at any on screen Monsters.
Things were a lot more fun for kids back then.
I grew up in Parish, NY Oswego County about 20 miles from Syracuse proper.
