Livia has been running things since Tony's dad was alive. She's the true gangster and nobody knows it. p.s. Paulie's car horn is the Godfather theme song and 4 dimes meant 4K 💸
Been re-watching this show to celebrate its 25th anniversary and thought I'd check out a reaction, so I stumbled across you guys. You're both so fun so I subscribed. 👍 I'm from New Jersey - where the Sopranos takes place - so I'll occasionally recognize shooting locations. I used to live down the road from where Makazian (the dirty cop) jumped from the bridge. I drove over that bridge almost every day and my old apartment complex is actually in the background when he climbs over the guardrail. Didn't realize it until this second watch lol
@@weebitlorna It's a dangerous game. No spoilers for the show but the way our federal cops work is that they have nearly infinite money to prosecute and wait you out even if you try to feed them bs. It's also illegal to lie to them. They have a 95% conviction rate.So if you're indicted, you're more than likely convicted. And if you're indicted, they've probably been on you for years already and have more than enough on you.
If hes wired he's already snitched. It doesnt matter if it was just one thing, it doesnt have to be murder or posession of 50k worth of heroin. It doesnt even have to be that Tony was caught saying something. Even if Puss wore the wire ONE day and all they talked about was the food at Vesuvio - Pussy still put a wire on in order to catch Tony in a crime & send him to prison. That's a hanging offense. The person isnt just out of the gang-theyre marked for death. Writing it on a piece of paper isnt changing anything.
I was meaning that maybe he didn't snitch but they forced him to wear a wire and he could have wrote it down right away to let everyone know. My thinking was that pushy was too loyal to snitch so if he was wearing a wire it's cause he had no choice... obvs in the end he was loyal and wasn't wearing the wire anyways :)
FYI: This is how Nancy Marchand, who plays Livia, was like in real life 18 years before The Sopranos, when she was accepting an Emmy. Just so you can appreciate the performance she's putting on: th-cam.com/video/VJwuvNgEnBw/w-d-xo.html
The package was pretty much, verbatum, a scene from THE GODFATHER 2, where the young Don is handed a wrapped up gun and asked to hide it, but hold onto it by a young criminal. That guy had been getting a vicarious thrill from Tony's mob status, but didn't want to get any of it on himself. I think Tony was just enjoying scaring him.
They kept the same theme music throughout all the series, though there was talk of editing then opening credits (I can't remember if they did) because in the opening shots you see the twin towers, which were gone some years before the series ended. The music did give the band some fame and brought some interest, though over the end credits they sometimes used music too. The song they used that brought a huge amount of interest was "Evidently Chickentown" by Manchesters John Cooper Clarke. I don't think that they play any Bruce Springsteen in the show, despite him being from New Jersey - and despite the fact that "Silvio" was not an actor before the Sopranos, he is the guitarist of Springsteens band and has been so for about half a century. - He was also one of the leaders behind a single in the '70s, "Sun City". Sun City was a dodgy tourist destination set up in South Africa to get around apartheid laws and many musicians refused to play there. The single is mostly African stars, but Bono and Ringo Starr are both on it. - The band Queen, did play Sun City and were fined by the UKs musicians union
Chris makes the only Springsteen reference in the show. He's late to a meeting & his excuse to Tony is that the "highway's jammed with broken heroes on a last-chance power drive", quoting "Born to Run"
@@adrianmcgrath1984 He's vowed to leave the country if Trump is elected in 2024, so he'll be gone soon anyway. Good riddance then - just so he takes the current F-up in chief with him; He's done enough damage to our country.
LMAO, Colin's hatred for Tony's mom is so funny, I love it!!! JUST WAIT till Tony's sister Janis comes back to town, you will learn a new definition of hate!!!!!!!
Where does the term grass come from??? Like to grass someone up??? I know what it means, but where the hell did it come from??? I don't get the correlation!!!
I think.. and don't quote me because they would be considered a snake. So like "snake in the grass' being shortened to grass. I think in England it's different but here that's what most people would say it's from hehe
@@weebitreacts Aaaah ok thanks, that totally makes sense, I been meaning to ask somebody from the UK or Ireland that forever!!!!!!! You'd think with all the Irish that live here in Milwaukee I would've asked by now!!! 👍😁😎
Loved the reaction & especially the Scottish colloquial bits in the outro. Definitely deepens the connection with you guys, which is special✨
Thanks bestie! 💖

What's a stomachbutt? 🤣
Yeah, if i heard my kid was dogging, I'd be much more concerned than if I heard they were skipping school. 🤣
You guys are so cheeky, love it 😂
Ahaha! Thanks!
I love when Lorna imitates Carmella talking to Olivia but with her Scottish accent!!!!!!! LMAO 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 BRILLIANT!!!
Lorna, after seeing how affected you were by Vin Makazian's death, I am sooo glad you are watching this show with Colin 😟
Yeah I need all the emotional support I can get hahaha
Back to the the Sopranos ! 👍🇺🇸🇮🇹🇲🇽
23:14 😂😂😂
We all hate her with so much passion, guys, you're not alone in this. 😂
Shows what great writing and performance it was.
I thought a lovely songbird had flown into the room during the intro but then realized it was just Lorna saying the word "subscribe"🐦🥰
The closest to your " going" is "fixing to" as in about to do something
One thing to understand is that if you're wired, you're already in it. Everyone is technically forced into it. Otherwise you'd be in jail immediately.
Yeah but you can also be forced into it but still be loyal as fuck? So that the police don't get anything? No? Haha

I hope it doesn't take me that long but I have a feeling you are right 😂😂😂

Wow. Never seen her outside the sopranos. Nice one. Her performance in the sopranos was excellent.
ohh this was a great watch, thank you!

Luckily you can skip it, the content has chapters so you can skip to the reaction quicker than it takes to comment on the length of the intro! 😂
