I thought this was a really rough episode. (To be fair, yeah, it's the pilot. The show gets better pretty quickly; I'd say season 3 is easily peak, but even episode 5 of season 1 is an all-time great episode. But still, that doesn't make episode 1 any better; it's uneven, that's all.) BUT "it's a figure of speech, Morty; they're bureaucrats. I don't respect them" is an EXCELLENT joke.

I have seen later episodes, so I know a thing or two about "R&M." After seeing a number of episodes, I saw this as a child abuse cartoon and put it in my rear view mirror.;)
