Can we set the adresses of both PLC Profinet interface to the same subnet (in this video PLC 1516)? For example port 1: 192.169.7.101 and port 2: 192.168.7.100. The other PLC would have the adress 192.158.7.102 so every device can communicate?
Hello. The model 1516F-3PN has 3 profinet ports. X1 is a two port switch composed of P1 and P2. This for me is the primary engineering subnet connection. For X2, there is only one P1 available, and used for MES or SCADA connections. The X1 and X2 interfaces cannot be on the same subnet. X1 is a 2 port switch so of course these have to be on the same subnet. This as you describe is not allowed by TIA portal software. Check out profinet couplers or a CP1543-1, really it's easier to redesign your ip addresses because that doesnt require physical hardware. You can software change that easier than spending money for equipment.
