THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!! It was only a matter of time till somebody figured out some major tech with this game! Chai now has the Trickster Style built in to him! I’ll definitely be labbing this for future playthroughs! Dope find my dood! -Sam
The exact timing window on the fast dash attack is actually the first half of the gap between beats. If you try to press light attack exactly on half-beat, it'll sometime result in a slow one because your hit is slightly late (thus registered on the next beat instead). Also, I swapped the dash to LB on Xbox controller, much easier to pull off consistent cancels.
here, give this a name: The Backbeat Dash why would i call it as such? the second version is basically adds a backbeat hit between the third and fourth beats, which is the dash attack between the third dash of the previous set and the first of the next count it as 1-2-3&1-2-3&1-2-3&1... so you don't lose track
It seems like its easier to cancel the regular light attack into dashes instead of the dash attack, and its just as fast. Only difference is i think the dash attack cancel puts out a hitbox
The extended dash technique almost feels like a 3-2 polyrhythm! If anyone is struggling with it, I highly recommend practicing that beforehand, it'll make it way easier to translate over to the controller. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to be madly dashing all over the map.
I found a different way by hitting the dash button sliiightly after the attack button and I've been using it ever since. It's pretty much two button presses for one dash but if you're consistent it's easy.

hi-fi rush is so goated even the speedrun tricks are on beat
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed this tech. This game is amazing...
yeah the combat's got a ton of depth, hard DMC vibes with this one
this is such a sick tech because it will force speedrunners to become half-decent drummers just to keep momentum
You’re telling me the tech is on beat too
TRICKSTER SWORDMAST--TRICKSTER
I almost think the timing is akin to half notes in actual music, if that's intentional, that's goddamn brilliant.
*8th notes
Half notes would be more like the heavy attacks that take up half a 4/4 measure
You're thinking of eigth notes
@@kyellebantog7720 Been too long away from instruments, good catch
And the speedrunner tech…advanced one stage that day…
speedrunners are in for a treat
Awesome guide, I can't wait to implement this! I also love the editing of Chai whacking away the text at 0:55, nice touch!

So basically, hit the dash attack on the off-beat. Nice.
the fact ive been doing this exact thing except the reset for so long makes me both happy and mad.
For some reason i hear "TRICKSTER" in my head
HOLY SHIIIIIII!!! The beeps and boops really helped me hear the pattern
speedruns of this game are probebly gonna be crazy.
I was on my bed, watching some youtube before going to bed, and this just made me get up, turn on my pc, boot up the game and try it. I hate you
the dash cancel to infinitely loop a combo reminds me of Elsword combat.
Okay, "dun dun dun-a-dun". Got it.

HOLY COW THATS SO AWESOME!!!!
Can’t wait to use this for those juicy s ranks
Dude this is awesome, thanks for showing me this! I’m not a hard core rythm game player, but I can get into this 👌
Thence forth I now dub the Combo Beat Dash or CBD for short

this is a really nice trick. thanks for the guide!

Omg, this is so cool, thank you, this will help a lot.
This game's got depth
I've been looking for videos like this to see if there's any secret tech found
This feels like some sort of classical dance beat. Its not waltz, maybe tango? If so that'll be ironic
while everyone us talking about the tech im over here vibing with the beat lol
great and stylish tutorial!

Ye I noticed you can cancel that ring thing on screen by dashing and being able to transition into another combo. Been using it for my aerial combos.
I hope you make more videos of more advanced techs, i find the 2nd dash tech to be easier on my fingers haha!
also just hit and dash at the same time
RB - RB - RB - X - RB - RB - RB - X
(repeat)

Yeah and it still counts as apart of the beat (idk in rhythm master tho, havent tried it) cause you can tell from the symbol

i wonder if you can get S rank in timing with this :O
Dante with infinite trickster would be OP
the sharing of one braincell
Ive done it so much that my controller hates me
What's the soundtrack played in this?
This
Wait... How are there health bars for the enemies?
The Training settings allows you to turn that on, can also be unlocked for story mode
New Speedrun? When?
If you don't mind me asking, what font does the video use?
The font is called "Luckiest Guy"
