Go pro is marketed as action camera. It would be interesting to see the performance of both iPhone and go pro underwater, skiing, mountain bike and in parachute/sky gliding (especially considering these are the use cases of go pro)

You lost me with the dynamic range comparison. The go pro had details the iphone didn't even pick up. Take a look at the shadows in mountains in the background at 3m:27s, and also on the road and the clouds. If you honestly rate the iphone better in dynamic range you're either an iphone fan boy or need glasses. Also, the skin tone comparison is subjective. I personally liked the extra detail in the hero. And I would like to see an audio test with the go pro media mod attached, which I am almost certain would be superior to the iphone. And don't forget durability. I'm pretty sure the go pro would survive better in extreme conditions. Mounts, the iphone has not much to offer. And last but not least, price. 400 vs 1200. We clearly have a winner . People who buy the gopro are gonna use it mostly for action/slowmotion, not just as a standard video camera. We are comparing apples to oranges here to some regard.

Personally being an iphone fan, i found go pro better than iphone, only in low lighting conditions iphone performs better.

When we want something to win, we only look at their advantages. Just because yes. The video content has quality, but I just didn't like it being biased towards the iPhone. Points that could be commented on in the video: So what about the abysmal price difference between one piece of equipment and another? The practicality? In my opinion, one thing is a cell phone with an excellent camera, another is an action camera (which is not an exclusive photo/video camera), another is a car, another is a motorcycle, etc. Each one serves its purpose, and in each one in its category, there are better and worse ones. This type of videos only lead iPhone users to think that what they have is superior, when in reality, it is not so. Whether in a device or another, the quality of both the photos and the videos, always depends on your settings and your subsequent work (does everyone know how to do it?) but we can always reach a point where what is fine for me is not for someone else. It's very relative.
Well said. My biggest complaint about cell phone cameras reviews is when they The reviewer says phones are close to digital camera format. Id put my Fuji gear against anycell phone any day.

thanks for your great comparison. i’m looking for a light portable camera for travel and it takes me to this clip. i’m not a photographer and strangely i’m more satisfied with most of the images and video taken on the gopro. is it just me and should i take the iphone instead? would it be difficult to edit and post files from the gopro?
all of the beginning points can be changed in the gopro settings so it you want a softer picture you can change that in settings if you want a cooler picture you also change it in the settings

However, I've different opinion about the FoV.. in terms of day to day photo/video or travelling purpose, the 3 lenses of iPhone surely are more used and important.. but for action footage, I would prefer the Go Pro. For example, if i shoot a POV driving video with the iPhone, the FoV of ultra wide lens is somehow still not enough, especially for a tall person like me.. I think it's better if we have both 😆😆

That was one of the best comparisons of both devices. I have felt that the video quality is better on Gopro and Audio is better on iPhone. But from a usability point of view, i would still prefer iPhone, because you can directly record and post on social media, you have a larger screen, on gopro its hard to align the device horizontally using that tiny screen and sometimes i get it wrong.

Great video! Ability to change focal length is a big advantage for iPhone. One thing I would perhaps consider to add to the comparison is ability of the camera to withstand impact forces. This is another important factor for action cams.

I make all my videos by the iPhone but i hate edit videos by the iPhone I prefer use the computer … thinking to buy a go pro just to be easy to send my videos to the computer because with the iPhone it’s painful
GoPro video looks more professional, but iPhone 14 pro for what it is can't be beat...
In some countries like mine iPhone 14 pro max cost 5x more than a gopro 11 and iPhone 15 pro max 7x
After wathing this video i understood 2 things.
1.) You like iPhones
2.) You just prefer iPhone camera more

Listen. One is a phone. The other is a dedicated camera. I'm not going to use a phone when I'm seriously filming I'll use a dedicated camera. In this case GoPro 11. I don't care what Apple fan boys say. The iPhone isn't an action camera and can you imagine the cost if you break your phone?. I'll stick with the GoPro 11 creative edition I bought.

I don’t doubt that iPhone can have superior specs, but I hate how the processed photos look. I don’t prefer the whole hdr toning look it automatically applies to photos, and I don’t like the Dolby hdr space making the photos unnaturally bright when viewing it next to other content on my phone.
In capturing videos, Iphone 14 pro is a point and shoot device while you need to do some tweaking to get the best in s22 ultra. BUT S22 Ultra will destroy the iphone 14 Pro when capturing photos and other smartphone features. IPhone is so expensive, here in Australia you can buy a new S22 Ultra and a new GoPro11 at the price of Iphone 14 Pro Max. Getting 2 devices is like having the privilege of an action camera and avoid abusing your smartphone.

The review is so biased. Go pro 11 is more realistic and detailed. You can do more in editing. Test point no.3 about skin color is good at iphone? Thats hilarious, go pro reveals every detail of your skin while iphone hides the imperfections, iphone is not realistic then
