best video ever, the only one that works if you are in Manhattan
This is so helpful! I’ll be visiting NYC for the first time soon and it was great to see the full process. The information you provided all the way through is so appreciated!
Wow, I really appreciate this. My 1st trip to NYC was this past May & will be going back next year. The hotel we chose is right near the intersection of 43rd & Broadway. This video will help us as we ride the subway from the area. Thank you 😊!
Great video. For how much hate the Subway gets it really is an amazing system. The fact that you can go from The Bronx to Coney Island for under 3$ is still very taken for granted by New Yorkers
Yes, many people do take it for granted! It runs better than people bash it for!
who wants to sit on the train for hours lmao
@@joeoge9347 who wants to sit in traffic for hours?
@@foisixes677 in my comfortable, safe, clean, spacious car? yes, please
@@cruxiql “safe” hahahahaha you’re special
This is so helpful. We are visiting with children in August and I was freaking out about the subway. Thank you!
Same here I am going with my family
Great video, just got back from the city, wish I had seen this before😉 still enjoyed watching!
Perfect
Great Video. I didn't see the Bull
Thanks so much for giving a very detailed instructions on how to traverse via the New York City 🚇 Subway to the Financial District from Times Square! I thoroughly enjoyed it. The oculus looks so futuristic like Bicentennial Man and Star Trek, and it's amazing you can walk through there from the Subway Station 🚉 itself. That was also a pleasant short walk outside after you left The Oculus, through Lower Manhattan. 🏙️ 😎
Thanks AK!
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed the subway ride and walk
That Stand Clear Of The Closing Doors guy sounds like he's announcing a baseball game.
So that's how you get around Action Kid. Cool. Thanks for the show
What a great video guide we will be staying in Times square this month this is a great help.
I love your NYC videos ! Can you also do this kind of stuff in Berlin ?
Best Wishes
Shimon
I grew up in the country, so the subway is a tourist destination in and of itself for me. I love riding the NYC subway. I've seen some of the craziest things I've ever seen down there. It's a world all its own.
For sure! The subway is totally an experience.
I have a question, my family and I will be traveling to New York is there a way get a pass for all 4 of us? We are visiting there for a week , we’re Two adults two kids ? Would you recommend the 7 day metro pass for each or omny pay ?
The ActionKid with an educational video today. Proper subway 🚇 techniques ! Very informative. 🐼
Lack of OUT OF SYSTEM FREE TRANSFER, IS THE RESULT OF FARE EVASION! THE TORONTO TRANIST COMMISSION ALLOWS CUSTOMERS WITH A PRESTOCARD/TICKET ONLY THAT OUT OF SYSTEM FREE TRANSFER FOR TWO HOURS, REGARDLESS OF DIRECTION, & TRAVEL!!
I think the most important thing to mention here is to know the direction you're about to go. What happened to us, when we first visited NYC, we entered the wrong side of the Subway. We headed downtown but wanted to go uptown. So always make sure to know which direction you want to go. And we had no idea that there was an unlimited plan with the metro system 😂
20:28 That's an interesting history about the hats and other details you've shared! That's a lot of information to absorb about the subway map and all the lines, but you're a pro explaining everything. Your public transportation videos are always thoughtful, detailed, and informative. 🏆 Keep up the good work, and thank you for sharing this video, AK! 🤗
Much appreciated, there's a lot of information about the subway but it's important to know!
Good afternoon Action Kid,
Thanks for the infomration, as you speak on live, do you get reactions from people listening to you while you gives us viewers the stories?? Just curious?? I noticed a woman waving the camera as you go take the r train. Thanks for the insight because I take these trains the r, w, & j trains in financial district (since I go back & forth of work)
You’re a master of this video I love your videos keep it up I hope you see you in the future
going to new york soon, this will be helpfull!!! ❤
Hola excelente video. Disculpe q tipo de Cámara. Usa. Ud.
I have a question, why did you take the R train and not the 1 train ?
These videos make me less afraid now to take the subway next time I visit NY.
Awesome!
It's actually pretty easy to ride the subway, just need to pay attention to pushers when the train comes.
13:29 easy to tell that these people are tourists
I ❤ train
These transportation videos are so educational and informative 😎So i appreciate these , so helpful for anyone who pays attention to the advices and tips that you’re giving ! Thank you for sharing these golden tips and advices A K🙂👍!!!
You're welcome, I'm glad you found it useful!
The now abandoned Canal St station was really spooky/scary at 1:00 am in 1973 when I was there and also the only guy on the the train was high on something.
Thanks, this was great !
Great video I'm from the Bronx.n.y. and i do miss my home. B.X. baby 😃👍
Very helpful❤
11:03 You mean the Port Authority Bus Terminal where it takes you to parts of New Jersey, Newark International Airport, Pennsylvania, Connecticut (CT), and parts of New York everywhere
This is a very useful video guide for people on how to ride the subway system in NYC.❤ Great and concise, with a thorough explanation.😊👍🏻
Much appreciated, glad you found it useful!
Such a helpful video! Thank you for taking time to do this.
You miss the Bakerloo or Jubilee line? 😂
It seems that the doors only stay open for less than a minute is that really time enough to change cars if need be?
I love these videos it's so helpful! Thank you! Do you have a video already in your catalog that tells you how to read these Subway maps? Your explanation really made sense but I feel like if I was anywhere other than times square or one of the big areas with all the trains trying to get from upper Manhattan to lower Manhattan I would get lost. I've been to the city so many times but only have taken the subway just a few times because I am just so scared of doing something wrong. I know you can use Google maps now but even that the last time I was there in October I decided against just for my own insecurities. I feel like I really need to study with somebody to figure this out lol.
No, I don't have a video like that. I think the best thing to do is to study the map yourself. Google Maps is usually pretty reliable.
I may never get to NYC but if I do, I will use this video as my guide to the subway. :)
That's great!
where are you from friend?

Oh gosh l'm used to using the colors when traveling. Confusing can be for some tourists. But in this videos you explained quite clearly how to use the NY subway which is most appropriated AK thanks 😊.
Thank you!
This video is a fantastic resource that I'll be sure to share with friends planning their NYC adventures. Thank you for demystifying the NYC Subway and turning what might seem daunting into a manageable and enjoyable experience!"
Don’t forget your bulletproof vest and first aid kit!! 😎
AK, can you believe some kids think the subway train is a surf board? I've been hearing about this happening a lot lately on the elevated lines and a lot of bad injuries, sad mamas.
Yes, it's pretty scary to hear about!
This was more than helpful thank you! Very much appreciated AK cheers I❤NY
As a Chinese who loves New York City, I really enjoy watching your videos. Thank you
What an amazing video quality😳
👋🏽
Thank you AK , your so easy to follow along , and some background history is cool ( never knew about the hats on the subway walls hee ) 😊
My pleasure!
I take this train to work. I'm always amazed how slowly tourists move, but this feels like a POV! Haha
That's great
Happy holidays everyone. Cheers
Thanks ! 😊
Thanks for this informative video! Your explanation of the trains in the subway system is very clear, but I'm still not sure on how to pay the fare. Is contactless payment the same as a contactless credit card? If I were to take the subway just once, would contactless payment be the same, less, or more than a MetroCard? If I ever visit New York, I'll have to do some research first. You call the MetroCard "old-fashioned." I used to take the Boston subway all the time in the days when I'd buy tokens from a person in a booth and put them in the slot. That's the old-fashioned way, and I think less complicated.
My advice to you (from an old public transit hand who's been doing this for a while) is to get an OMNY card, buy a pass for however long you're going to stay (or fill it up with enough money for the duration of your visit) and use that; *_don't_* use your credit card, as the use of that for fare payment will add up to a lot of money you have to pay on your credit card bill.
As for what you said about tickets and tokens-those were got rid of due to impracticality and waste; it's better to have a card like the MetroCard or the OMNY to pay for transit (you can still pay with cash *_if_* you want to, although that'll be expensive, too.)
@brucesdahms I remember the tokens lol
Thanks for the information! It is much appreciated,@@Neville60001
Yes, contactless credit card is a method of contactless payment. It's the same price as a MetroCard.
The video is too long , thank you for effort anyway .
