      @@MoreThanJustaCleaner I would say both content and Delivery to be honest I'm looking at a lot of reviews on inflatables because I'm getting to old manhandling hard shell kayaks around . And then I get a notification of a youtuber telling me that he's going to loose the air out of his kayak at six pm on Bank Holiday Monday so tune in to see what happens in a word PRICELESS youtube vids don't come any better than that a lot of people would have been on the riverbank but not you .you stayed on it till the death once AGAIN WELL DONE I loved it .👍✊.

    i would love to know how the Aquatec Ottowa gets on in this situation too. Excellent and thought provoking video. when you are on a river or canal I think you could make it to the bank but at sea it might be different.

    • @MoreThanJustaCleaner
      @MoreThanJustaCleaner  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the sea is a beast - in crap conditions the best you'd have is a body board style float.

    Nice one Swampy 😎 Another good test on what could happen, and why we should always wear a PFD👍 I guess in reality we all take a risk when out on the water, hardshells included, knowing how our craft handles could be a life saver. Your dedication to the fine art of IK a should be recognised with an honour 😜

  • @molsi01

    I think the Brent will be interesting - the floor is supposed to be a boogie board so you’d hope you’d get a bit more buoyancy when the main chamber deflated. Great video Karlos, informative and useful 👍🏻

    • @MoreThanJustaCleaner
      @MoreThanJustaCleaner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah the Brent will be a good one. I'm also looking forward to the Pea Pod with just one side chamber left inflated 😳😊

  • @elizabethsumpter9129
    @elizabethsumpter9129 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    💖👍 This was good to see that it will keep you afloat enough to get to shore. Would like to see how the others handle with and without the drop stitch floors.

    • @MoreThanJustaCleaner
      @MoreThanJustaCleaner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's on my agenda 👍 I think it would be interesting to see what happens with a 3 chambered craft like the Pea Pod if the bottom and one side lose air, leaving just one side chamber. That would be a pretty catastrophic air loss in the case of that style of craft.

      Yeah, and the floor chamber was actually quite soft. It was only about 5psi at a guess.

  • @HurricaneMiltonsDad
    @HurricaneMiltonsDad 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do what I do and tow a cheaper fully inflated kayak behind for these kind of moments. It's a simple matter of pulling the thing alongside, lifting the gear in, then sliding in yourself, before towing the burst kayak back to shore/bank. It's how I am able to go for many miles along stormy coast lines. It's that peace of mind with such a back up.

    • @MoreThanJustaCleaner
      @MoreThanJustaCleaner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a cool idea 👍😊

      @HurricaneMiltonsDad 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MoreThanJustaCleaner It is a great way to stay safer out there. You can get a really good Sevylor Tahaa Kayak for 90 quid as a back up. It comes everywhere with me. Either inflated and towed or packed under my camping gear behind me - depending on how rough the sea/river/lake is.

    My Goplus doesn’t have the cutouts on either side, which I guess is for draining/holding water while you are paddling. Instead it’s just a smaller ironing board shape. I am guessing my version would be more buoyant. Btw, the version sold in the US says you can inflate to 13 psi, so as long as you keep it under 10 psi even in the hottest weather, you should be fine.

  • @ResQuetzal
    @ResQuetzal 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'd expect the seat part to float. And some air should stay in long enough to reach some shore...but not necessarily the best places to land. Some people carry a small pump. Not sure if that would keep the whole thing afloat long enough to instant patch with a repair kit. That is assuming it isn't a valve problem like you demonstrated. But certainly you would have time to make sure all things were put away and that your life vest was properly inflated.

    • @MoreThanJustaCleaner
      @MoreThanJustaCleaner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bear in mind this isn't a tear in the fabric, through the valve it's quite a slow release. For me it was enough to know the floor chamber would be helpful in keeping you afloat considering how small it is :) The Brent will be an interesting test!!

    Hola. Intento hacer paddle surf con mi kayak goplus por aprovechar los recursos que decían las especificaciones del kayak. La experiencia es que le falta relleno en la cámara del asiento para igualar el suelo con el resto de la embarcación. He buscado en costway si existe un suelo o similar que tenga esta caracteristica y no lo encuentro. ¿Tiene usted noticia de ello?. Muchas gracias y saludos
    Hello. I try to paddle surf with my goplus kayak to take advantage of the resources that the kayak specifications said. Experience is that it lacks padding in the seat chamber to even out the floor with the rest of the boat. I have searched in costway if there is a floor or similar that has this characteristic and I can't find it. Do you have news of it? Thank you very much and greetings

    • @MoreThanJustaCleaner
      @MoreThanJustaCleaner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Having said that, you could do a lot worse than an Ironing Board. Yes you'll have to buy a better pump and paddle, but even that's still good value.
