- Attach a Grab/Carry Handle to an Inflatable Kayak | GoPlus -
Having watched @thecockneykayaker2239 attach extra carry/grab handles to his GoPlus kayak, I realised it was about time I did my own. I took a few lessons from Lee's video added to my experience of attaching D-Rings to The Brent and set to it...

Thanks... I just finished putting a handle on my GoPlus... I did it just like you, just one handle in the middle of the floor. Works great.
Glad it helped 👍😁
I have just done this to my Goplus kayak thanks to you, Works a treat , so much easier to carry. Great videos karl . Keep them coming cheers .
Good stuff, I'm glad it helped 😁👍
That was a good idea that’s where my paddle board Handel is and when I went to pick the go plus up that’s where my hand when to but no Handel . Good job
Cheers Tina :) Although as I said in all honesty, it was only because I'm a doofus and thought I'd ordered a pack of two - it was just having the one that made me think about it this way :)
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner I use my paddle board strap over my shoulder but it would be good to have that handle. I have been looking at cascade for my husband buts a lot more money it’s got a lot of good points
I've not heard of cascade.

Ah gotcha, yes. Pricey though!
💖👍 Love the idea of the middle handle.
To be honest I'm glad things worked out the way they did. Carrying it that way is much easier than carrying my other boats with handles on the side 👍😊
That glues seems really good…👍🏽
Yeah Stormsure is pretty good 👍
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner thanks
I did it your way last year, in the middle of the floor. Works great for me.
I'm glad I'm not the only sensible one :D
I added mine to the right hand side..because I'm left handed 😁 I added 4 d rings to the rear and bungee
Good stuff 👍 it all worked ok?
hair removal cream ??? think Im glad I missed that video lol
Haha well oddly enough it is quite a popular one 🤣🤣🙄
Nice one, always more than one way to skin a rabbit 🐇
Absolutely bud :D
Have you reviewed the “steam 312 from aquamarine. ?? It look really good but I think you could do an awesome review of it..👍🏽
I haven't. However that boat has been on and off my purchase list 😁👍
Love your reviews! One question, if I may; is the full kayak drop stich or only the sitting floor? Thanks and keep on doing a great job
Thank you so much for your kind words :D
The whole boat is drop stitch, you can see one here if you're interested amzn.to/3zhhOic and for the money they're amazing. This one has continually surprised me. Have you seen my kayak camping or bike kayaking trips with it? Or the review I did when I first bought it?
😂 The ONLY reason you're doing it like that is because you only got one handle! Bet you a pound!
I put D rings on the Sneaker Pimp - but only after I had FINISHED and set them to dry did I realise I mis-aligned one of the front ones 😭 I'm such a plumb! I don't think it'll matter too much and it gives my boat a little of its own personality 🙂
Another great video, big man, I'm sure loads of people will be using these for their own boats 👍🏻
I did actually say that in the video 🤪
Good work on your own mods, but I bet the misalignment is annoying 🤣
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner VERY annoying but I'll live with it. Not re-positioned the bungy cord yet.
@@molsi01 crack on lad 😁
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner This weekend, that's the plan. Then all being well, out again for a paddle on Sunday
@@molsi01 good stuff 👍😊
Karl what handles did you get for the dropstitch kayak rubber or pvc
Then the glue as well

If you look in the Kayaking list you should find it all.
Not a particularly well designed placement but like the craft.. have you used it as a sup board if so how did you find it as I wanna get a sup but like the idea of a dual purpose craft🤔 love the hacks btw👌
It wouldn't really work as a SUP cos your feet would be too close together. The Brent has been designed more dual purpose with a wider cockpit to stand in.
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner that's what I thought hence why I asked thanks for the confirmation 👍🏼 🙂
Would you say this is a good starter kayak for someone wanting to try a bit of it?
Absolutely! It's great value for money and really stable so it feels really safe. But as a kit it's a bit crap cos the paddle and more so the pump are lacking.
Great video thank you. I'm picking my Gumotex Twist 1 tomorrow, same problem as you had there's no middle grab handle! Could you stick a grab handle as you've done on the floor of the Twist, it's traditional ribbed type same as the Twist 2 which you've reviewed.
With it being ribbed I'm not sure it would be so straightforward to do!
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner That's what my partner said, I guess I'll have to glue it to the side. Thanks a lot
@@paulinecrowder6058 Let me know how you get on :)
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner will do thanks Karl
Hi I've now been out a few times in my 9kg Gumotex Twist 1. I've managed, so far, with just the end ropes getting the boat in an out, because it's so light. I can also just about lift it up on my shoulder, using the seat straps to get it up, and carry it from one side of a lock to another. I've just found a nice place to launch with free parking very close by, but it's a high bank with no rings or poles to tie to. I'm going to give it a try, the boat is much tippier than the Twist 2 so wish me luck🤞
