Excellent video. Good closeup filming and verbally walking through each step while showing how to do it.

Thank you. Don't forget to like & subscribe so you'll be sure to learn a lot. It's very important to see what is said being there's a lot of "professional disinformation" out there. In this way you'll save lots of money & be happy with the stuff you already have after some simple alterations.
There's these old sayings: "Believe half of what you see & nothing that you here." And of course, "Chrome don't get you home." Both hold a lot of relevance in the firearms industry & you tend to see a lot of that in social media.

The final inspection should then be on the spring plunger itself. In fact, I've found that it may be the biggest problem of all. Great tip on elongating the slot for more travel. Thanks!

Colt 70 series here releases, but release button is stiff and hard to push-in. I'll try this. Thanks

In my opinion: There's your spring pressure, keeper track slot & machining of the button exterior that contribute. The old way of breaking in a pistol probably won't improve the mag release much no matter how hard you run it. I think you'd be pleased following this video. If anything, your magazine tube should last longer & the follower won't catch on a bur from having to slam it in.
      Thanks for watching.

Mags having to be bumped in is pretty normal on a 1911

In my opinion: The underside of the mag release might not be tapered correctly so the mag tube hits it in such a way it wouldn't push it out of the way as so to click into the holding notch.

In my other opinion: The mag release may not have a clean slot for the retaining lock to slide freely. Or you might have a rough cast part hanging up on the frame. Some hang up at the push button side & need to be made smooth around the outer button diameter.

Is this Stick your Hammer 🤔🤔😂😂

😂 If that's what you call it, yes. Saves hammer hooks from the hour glass wear pattern & takes lazy mush feel out of the pull. Hammers with weight set behind the pivot pin cause lighter feel across the hooks & because more mass is behind the pivot. When it hits the firing pin plate repeatedly it can cause the hammer to break off at the neck. This is a make shift speed hammer. Should check out my other videos with the Cylinder & Slide Warp Speed hammer if you think this is a stick that will look like a paper clip. 🤣

Directs full contact control over the hammer hooks while minimizing pin todder so the sear, hammer & frame pin holes last way longer. That being said, light mainsprings cause more wear to the frame pin holes, hammer hooks & sear. Every time you cock the hammer with your thumb it puts a lot of stress on the pivot pin, pin hole. Along with the sear chatter, it produces the hour glass wear pattern on the hammer hooks.
Pins are supposed to rotate under 24lbs (OEM) of spring pressure. Rotating reduces drag like a bearing. When the spring pressure goes less than 15llbs, the hammer weight does most of the work causing excessive wear to the all those mentioned parts. It's like cheating on the pull because mass is way behind the hooks.
Got another video on the way, so don't forget to like & subscribe.
      Thanks for watching.
