      In my opinion: Yeah, it's best to take your time. I typically like picking up old used parts because they're cheaper to fit. Anything new will need some work that makes new parts look about the same. The frame to slide slop helps overcome bad fitted extractors along with rounds getting over the cam lock style feed that's iconic to the 1911. They changed the front link to a sideways bushing in development making the bushing both link & recoil spring retainer that functions as both lending to each feature while adopting the loose tolerance interlocking part ideal (word to all the fake experts out there). It's so simple & so many people would rather tighten it up not knowing how it actually works & experience problems they blame the magazines for. Most of this will come with experience. Both extractor & feed cam over tend to create most of the 1911 problems because very few people understand how these features interact with a round. It's a hard baller at best, but if you really learn, you can run most ammunition that the high dollar big name stuff chokes on.

    Agree with you on recoil absorption. Even though I have a small hand, I still hate skinny revolver grips, like the type of skinny wood grips on many S&W revolvers, I want something a little more substantial to hold on to. I had larger Colt wood grips on my Colt Python, but when shooting full power 357 magnums, I could feel the vibe in my hands. OMG, what a difference the Pachmayr grips made in absorbing any the felt recoil of .357. I also have them on my Rossi 38 Special snub nose, feel so comfortable. I don't care for Hogue rubber grips though, as I find the rubber to hard, and grip to fat. Took the uncomfortable Hogue rubber grips off my Sig P229 .357 Sig and replaced with E2 grips.

    You totally lost me when you arrogantly proclaimed that S&W revolvers are "JUNK". So you're a Colt "fan boy". Ok, got it, but pretending to be doing a semi-serious demonstration with the very firearm you claim is junk is just juvenile. Grow up and be professional in reviewing a product. You're reviewing Pachymaer grips - OR - was your real goal here to just slam a gun manufacturer? If S&W's are all junk then why are you demonstrating with one? Why aren't you using your Colt? As for much of the other nonsense you proclaimed, I'll let others address that if they wish.

      In my opinion: Keep watching & reading comments.. Show me a good one & I bet there would be obvious discrepancies. Got a few here aboutr over crushed barrels & bouncy cylinder J frames. Seems a Smith& Wesson factory exclusive. Most of my videos would be based on experience & not fan boy anything. Experience means it's consensus formed on the job, or in acidemia.. Criticism is the contrasting justification to academic discussions. If someone doesn't understand what "professional" is, they'd be seriously lost to the swear words of a Marine, mechanic or truck driver. Like how you really haven't said anything here. Character attacks don't hold up to proper inference for discovery the eyes can obviously see. Not to worry, I'll leave your comment so others might see the word salad.

    My 60-15 was sent back due to a canted barrel. After it was returned, groups opened up and it leaded badly after the frame. There is a line in the barrel where the frame meets the barrel when I shine a light down it. Slugging it with a soft .36 round ball varified what they did. My "cheap inferior" Taurus revolvers never had these issues.

    • @opinionsvary

      Thanks for your addition. In my opinion: Anything with a thread would like to relax opposite to the square surface. Square simply cannot be achieved with anything threaded. The compression of the angular pitch to its radius of contact would lead to an eventual non-concentric squaring of related conjoining of parts. No such thing as a consistent 100% zero in anything. Sights should be checked every 5 years even though not in use. There's no such thing as a AR-15/M16/AK/Drakenov "sniper rifle". It's what someone can accomplish with it that makes the sniper, not the rifle. Fair to say you may be a sniper, but there's no such thing as a "sniper rifle" without its accomplished operator. Old Molsen Nagants of WWI tend to have barrels way off the center line simply because of the bore twist to its sectional density. That's just the way metal is. It wants to relax. When manufacturing things they really should pay close attention to the thread pitch to help offset - correct the relaxation of the barrel. Some barrel shapes tend to be resistant, but that's not even a modern/post modern factor in manufacturing now. It tends to be all market hype & hysteria. Adding a shot gun rib on a Colt Python or a bowling alley style gutter sight of a Ruger Security Six does absolutely nothing for accuracy. Sometimes the barrel comes short of the sight alignment & instead of adjusting the shoulder, they over torque it so it "looks right". Going towards shrouded barrels would help eliminate the assembly Gorillas out of all the wrench monkeys. What might've happened was the manufacturer might've hired a bunch of assemblers to fulfill an order. Not having necessary aptitude to synthesize hand, eye & thought would lead to having to accept discrepancies or otherwise rework the entire lot, rendering them as seconds. You don't see seconds being offended outside LE/Military contracts. We have to realize with the lack of experience social reform creates there really is no telling who assembled them considering they could've been tax break incentives for federal subsidies or for "favorable contract consideration".

    If I understand correctly, you did it wrong. If you did it through the pcv, thats incorrect, either directly into TB or the air intake. Also, after you finish the can, you are suppose to rev engine (not above 3500 rpms). Then let idle for 1 minute. Shut off car and let ot heatsoak for an hour (important!). Then drive for at least 10 mins highways speeds

      In my opinion The PVC port on the air box intake duct presents the throttle blade for direct spray when the straw is bent facing it. Any other place causes vacuum leaks messing with the air/fuel ratio. It helps clean the throttle blade & ventura. The octane of the cleaner wouldn't be consistent with it's directions for use.

    • @opinionsvary
      @opinionsvary 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      😂 If that's what you call it, yes. Saves hammer hooks from the hour glass wear pattern & takes lazy mush feel out of the pull. Hammers with weight set behind the pivot pin cause lighter feel across the hooks & because more mass is behind the pivot. When it hits the firing pin plate repeatedly it can cause the hammer to break off at the neck. This is a make shift speed hammer. Should check out my other videos with the Cylinder & Slide Warp Speed hammer if you think this is a stick that will look like a paper clip. 🤣 th-cam.com/video/GEeeKuvJd04/w-d-xo.htmlsi=YBpOYu_rmxs5SVPO Directs full contact control over the hammer hooks while minimizing pin todder so the sear, hammer & frame pin holes last way longer. That being said, light mainsprings cause more wear to the frame pin holes, hammer hooks & sear. Every time you cock the hammer with your thumb it puts a lot of stress on the pivot pin, pin hole. Along with the sear chatter, it produces the hour glass wear pattern on the hammer hooks. Pins are supposed to rotate under 24lbs (OEM) of spring pressure. Rotating reduces drag like a bearing. When the spring pressure goes less than 15llbs, the hammer weight does most of the work causing excessive wear to the all those mentioned parts. It's like cheating on the pull because mass is way behind the hooks. Got another video on the way, so don't forget to like & subscribe. Thanks for watching. ~Cheers.

The impact surface of the shell on its way out would need to "peel" off the expended shell from its it's holding seat of the extractor claw. It has nothing to do with the extractor regardless of whoever they think they are or how much experience they have or who they'd work for. Someone really Bubba'd up that poor Colt. A thousand dollar gun that gets angry remarks now.

    • @opinionsvary
      @opinionsvary 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It wasn't a thousand dollar.gun. And it's no Colt now. Slide is still too heavy for the caliber, but that's what happens when people caliber down. Colt pistols really aren't that great. Nobody wanted one until the 1980s. Smith & Wesson was the go to pistol then Beretta caught up. Most LEOs then trusted their Colt or Smith & Wesson revolvers more than any Colt 1911. One of the main reasons was they didn't know how to correctly fit the barrel hood or how the thing recoiled with the mortis lug system of what would loosely pass for locking. 🤭 The other was they didn't know how to fit the barrel link or what it actually does. Many gunsmiths still don't know either. Then they all had improperly fit extractors. Yeah, they can keep their delicate safe queens that cost so much for terrible performance, not to mention have the world's worst reputation for magazine issues. They were called "the jam-o-matics that couldn't hit the broad side of a barn".

    Thanks man good video. I had this problem with a 1911 and it really detracts from the experience. Its probably a safety issue as well if you imagine a less experienced shooter have a hot case down the shirt while holding a loaded gun

    • @opinionsvary
      @opinionsvary 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In my opinion: Yeah, gunsmithing is a craft & they came up with a lot of mythical hysteria surrounding 1911 improvements through modification. The slide todder can cause erratic hits on the brass along with a ejector that's loose. When ultra compacts first came out they thought it was a great idea to use 38 super/9mm parts so the legs would wobble left to right. Many firing pin stop plates had the classic crack that 38 super/ 9mm had. Just follow the direction out of the ejection port with your impact radius & you'll be smarter than the average gunsmith or manufacturing engineer. Thanks for watching. ~ Cheers

    These Glock videos are truly awesome! I don’t know why you don’t have more views on these. I’ve been working on Glocks for many years, and have done quite a bit of research trying to make my Glocks as reliable as possible. I thought I had most aspects and issues figured out until I saw your videos. This one in particular was eye opening so thank you! I wish you would make more Glock videos. You confirmed my suspicion on keeping the polymer trigger instead of “upgrading” to metal. I seem to recall Johnny Glocks alluded to this on his channel as well in one of his earlier videos. Although he now he has his own line of flat faced metal triggers, because that’s what his customers wanted. Can’t blame him for listening to his customers, and I think he likely does have the best metal trigger out there in my opinion. Anyway, I just wanted to know your knowledge and opinions are very much appreciated, thanks again! Edit to ask if you have a preferred metal recoil rod brand?

I got to get around to more videos when I have free time. Appreciate your support. ~ Cheers

      In my opinion: It most likely is used to bond titanium to other metals being aluminum & steel don't do it. It's not a durable metal contrary to the mythical hysteria used in commercial marketing to justify higher cost of otherwise common goods. Yeah, my original Eco Drive titainum watch band wore loose in short order & its lithium battery seemed more durable at the same rate. After 3 years it rattled like a 20 year old Rolex. Mind you when that photovoltaic solar system came about lithium watch batteries were in their infancy. Lithium on a side note wouldn't be all that eco friendly either especially when they catch on fire & have been well known to kill infants & toddlers who swallow them. I wouldn't waist my time or money on anything titanium unless it would be a stabilizer plate used in orthopedic surgeries. Titanium surgical tools don't last very long either as statement of fact that speaks to this topic of concern. Thanks for watching ~ Cheers!

    Hey guy's, they work beautifully in low light shooting with both eyes open. Didn't think all that much about them & my video being as informative as it is wouldn't do the X-Ray 3 U notch sighting system full justice. You can score hits on the run & with both eyes open so much easier.

    I’ve been carrying & shooting a light weight J Frame since 1968 and never had a problem. About 10 yrs ago I picked up a no-lock 340PD and took it to the range. Five rounds of .357 was all it took for me to switch my carry rounds to +P. The little gun remains in pristine condition and works well as an EDC in a pocket holster.

      Thanks for watching. Yeah, the J frame would be extremely comfortable to carry in all regards. The 357 magnum load is very punishing. It would help getting past recoil sensitivity in very short order. If taken seriously, the 357 cartridge would need some thought inorder to be successful in a snub. Like fast burning pistol powder, shorter than standard 357 shell length & a very heavy crimp. Magnum loads used to be slower on the burn rate, but now there's no telling with short barrel technology. Hornady 125 grain hurts more than the 158 grain from my experience. I just like the added shank of the 158gr being used in a revolver. ~ Cheers.

      Oh, still if you did rev the engine 2-3 times and didn't let it sit for an hour, that would possibly be the reason why you had issues.

    • @opinionsvary
      @opinionsvary 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheSokodelic In my opinion: Apparently there was enough residual to cause idle problems. That's the problem. In order to remove carbon, steam would be the primary element. Soaking helps a small portion with burnt in residue. When you run fuel system cleaners they would offer little benefit if you do not run the engine at least 2,500 rpm for 20 minutes (55mph - 65mph) highway idle speeds. It would be why manufacturers do not recommend any additives in the fuel being they can cause harm to the O2 sensors & further glue the cud down in undesirable places. The operating temperature, rpm & duration would be where it's at. More soaking causes issues with the air/fuel mixture. Seems this stuff wouldn't be an octane booster. It's something inconsistent with the octane so I would say they'd need to revise their directions for use. Basically it doesn't completely burn fast enough & fluttering the throttle blade would theoretically cause engine temp to rise, even though suction from the throttle blade being almost closed would suck larger amounts of cleaner into the combustion chamber. Not being an octane booster, shocks the air/fuel mixture causing all those problems until enough cleaner is removed enough from the intake. Heat soaking can present a problem if the cleaning solution washes down the cylinder wall to piston ring oil. Modern 5W-20 or 0W-20 oils wouldn't have such a safety margin as SAE 30/SAE40 products. That's why you're supposed to run idle high & long to prevent that. Under no circumstances should the vehicle load the engine. Yeah, about that test drive... 🤪 They should reformulate or revise their directions if they'd want the stuff to work as advertised. Seems like a good way to ruin piston rings.

    I have a Sign 320 and it sure doesn't shoot as good as my Beretta M-9. Maybe I need to shoot it more ,The Beretta is real accurate.

    • @opinionsvary
      @opinionsvary ปีที่แล้ว

      In my opinion: Yeah, it takes some getting used to. Beretta unfortunately has an external draw bar & open slide that would make it less desirable as a "combat weapon". The Beretta has the shorter service life being their frames love to crack on the left side to where the barrel lug is around 22k rounds or so. I would say Beretta seems to have better made barrels & I really like the tool chrome lined ones that makes cleaning so easy. It's just too bad their prices have gone up so much & it's hard to find used ones in shops. Cylinder&Slide made a really great fire control group in the past you might want to check out.

    Why do you keep saying “in my opinion” in every single comment. It’s dumb and annoying. Also, why wouldn’t you shoot with both hands? And you site Keanu reeves for a reason to shoot with one hand. He acts in fucking movies and exaggerates every thing possible, not to mention how unrealistic most of that shit is in the real world. I don’t think he’s a good source of training information…

    I've always disassembled and polished my new 1911's. Your pretty safe with a carbon steel or stainless frame putting a mirror finish on it. But be very careful with an "alloy" frame feed ramp, you can eat material off it very easy, not good. The trigger bow, disconnector, rails, chamber and mag release will make the gun run smoother with a little polishing. stay away from the sear unless you know what your doing.

    • @opinionsvary
      @opinionsvary ปีที่แล้ว

      In my opinion: Jack, you're right about alloy ramps. If you really want to distroy a ramp made of titanium, aluminum or scandium (titanium & scandium tend to contain aluminum for added durability as both will not last for bullet feed bearing surfaces in their purest forms) feed ramp, polishing it will do the job without a doubt. Fusion Firearms would offer a barrel throat hone that can clean up a chamber mouth fast. It's best not to polish the chamber. The mouth would be as far as you want to go otherwise you'll go through a lot of recoil springs form the hard recoil of a slicked chamber. This would be why I prefer non nickled brass inorder to get the most out of the internal bullistics. Don't mind the patina there as it helps. Thanks for watching. Stay tuned more content is on the way. ~ Cheers.

      @@opinionsvary My Ronin 45 has a feed ramp on the alloy frame. That's pretty smart of Springer, just wish they would quit making their thumb safety feel like a "spring" in the off position.

    You can just push the slide lock pin from the other side of the gun and then it pops it up enough to grab. No need to grind a groove in it.

    • @opinionsvary
      @opinionsvary ปีที่แล้ว

      In my opinion: I have another video on slide lock/release issues you might check out if you really want to know everything that happens with this part. Without a groove the part slides around & drags on the slide. They can pop out during shooting too. Some custom shops reduce the length of the pin to prevent that making them counter sunken or flush to the frame. It's a known issue to those who rest their trigger finger out of the ring. In high stress situations the operator can pop the part out of the frame causing a malfunction. Thanks for watching, stay tuned for more. ~ Cheers.

    water does not hurt your gun. letting it sit in water will but washing it in water is fine just dry it as fast as possible
