You are one Classy Gun Master, works like a champ! Thanks for sharing! Your procedure also works on a Sig Sauer 1911 Ultra 45 - Happy New Year 01/06/2022

Useful in general, but this isn't the way a classic 1911 mag follower is built. IIRC those don't have any clip to pinch, you just tip them and slide them out. There is also a small notch or tang in the back that the top coil of the spring fits into. There are other types as well, but in general you follow this video and you can figure out the rest.
Interesting the design differences between the two. I suspect there is a large contractor who sells 191 mag bodies to various companies who assemble their own mags from them (or have them assembled by another party). They probalby get their springs and followers from different sources, so not all are totally equal. Interesting to see that Kimber found they can fit 8 rounds into the standard mag body; I suspect they had to shorten the follower, and used a spring with modern metallurgy that could be compressed slightly more without damaging it. I wonder how that effects reliability and life though.

The magazines shown in this video have anti-tilt followers, a common feature of 1911 magazines manufactured since the end of military-contract magazines. You can immediately see this distinction because the patent number is stamped on the top of the follower.

I just got a brand new Colt 1911, and the mag spring is really tight. Its hard for me to load 7 bullets into it. Is that normal?

Yes. 1911 magazines have very stiff springs. Have you tried a magazine loading tool? Uplula is by far the best on the market

It’s normal and be happy that they are that stiff.

Good info but when you are talking about a certain area or part you take it out of frame of the camera.

I liked this video, but you occasionally get the magazine off camera. It still gets your point across, just is not always totally clear what's happening.

Is there a different between the magazine of COLT 45 MARK IV series 80 , government model and other the 1911 ,45 caliber , because the other 1911 caliber 45 magazine is not fitted to my pistol , COLT 45 MARK IV ,.. please reply to my problem ,thank you ..

Not familiar enough with colt mark 4. 1911 dimensions are typically pretty standardized, and mags tend to interchange with ease. But there's no guarantee that they made their magwell standard on them.....

There are 3 variations of the colt 1911. Government, commander, and officers model. The officers model is the smallest, uses a shorter magazine. Said magazine will not fit in the other two models, because it’s too short to engage the magazine catch
