He is one half of, arguably, the best backcourts of in d1 ball, him and Jamal Mashburn Jr combine for 36 ppg, 8 rpg, 8 apg, 4.5 stpg and are dynamic to watch. If they aren't the best duo,I guarantee they are most entertaining

Idk. It’s one thing if they THAT athletic to recover well off ball fakes. Breaking them is pretty simple, it’s more about whether the coaching staff trains their team to break them
I never heard of him before, but I'm a Lobo fan so my first time watching him play was a few weeks ago but he's been ballin for New Mexico! I didn't even know he had this much hype for him he looks like he's gonna have a great career here though.
I personally like defense as a sports fan because every can do good on offense but not everyone is good on defense that’s why it’s so entertaining to me
@@VENENOSEASON every player when they first start learns offense, and adapt quickly. Offense is simply easier to play the defense. It’s more to defense than there is to offense.
Your a little off about his dad. Early o. He was a 3 point specialist but was better known as a defender who helped lead teams to long playoff runs with he defense.
Come on Matt you gotta tell the WHOLE story. He played behind upper classmen, one of which is an ASU legend. If he went somewhere that he could start, he definitely would've put up better numbers. I agree the system wasn't a great fit, & as long a he finds the right fit he will be a star
I think he has a high floor, but already maxed out. My guess his peak is a better defending Fultz. 12 ppg, 6.4 apg, 3.2 rpg, 1.8 spg, 0.7 bpg, 4.8 bpm, are his highs in my guess
At first I thought he was a bum but if you watch his college highlights you can see flashes of greatness if he went to a different school he would flourish
Most of the time he plays his aggressive defense the bigger player just gives him a quick move and take it all the way to the basket or just shoot right over him
Matt, your breakdowns are great, however High School is very limited to the talent you play against. There’s a reason so many of the players you highlight don’t pan out when faced against better competition.
He still plays good defense but sometimes the offense is just better. Also, he is not really a threat to score the ball like he was able to in high school
@@blakehoule6698 the same reason that you think you can do something......he's confident and he's competitive. He didn't want to wait his turn. He's only a sophomore. The next 2 years was his to lose.
Alabama went 11/25 from the free throw line, turned the ball over more and the SEC player of the year literally scored 8 points... but you tryna pin the L all on Quinerly ?
Well here is a hypothesis, he is playing 18minute a game and taking less that 5fga which means he is primarily a defensive stopper, so he is never in rhythm and he is also his legs are usually tired from what he does on defense. His game probably suffers based on how they use him rather than his actual skill set. His second year he is transforming into a 3 and D guy
Sure he did have good stats in high school, but his play style and his team’s game plan imo harmed him as a basketball player. Shadow mountain did not play good basketball, they would run a full court trap all game and jump at every pass or drive to try and get a steal, similar to how club basketball is played, no real defense is played and no high level basketball sets were ran. They also played in one of the lowest divisions in AZ high school basketball so his competition was never very good. I think that’s his biggest problem at the college level, he simply doesn’t know how to play high level basketball and his coach imo (Bobby hurley) is not a good coach so he doesn’t have anyone to teach him the next level effectively. Not trying to hate, I would love to see him succeed as I go to asu but he’s very overrated imo
