`For the impulse line, I've taken a piece of 14-gauge bare copper wire, push it through the rubber line and insert the wire into the nipple. It's perfect fit. Just slide the impulse line down the wire and onto the nipple. Makes it easy on those that have go through a tight or curved space.
Taking that exhaust assembly out makes working on that bushing more manageable. I used a big pair of "water pump" pliers to press it back in with the help of a little lube after i got the exhaust assembly out of the way.
@stihlhead, this was two years ago. The clients' name is Mr. Gross. He was back about 6 months ago, but not with this saw. To my knowledge it is Stihl running....thank you for watching....
I notice it looks as though you're using the smaller ID hose from an aftermarket kit that's half the ID of the oem hoses. Have seen that these smaller ID hoses collapse on themselves and restrict fuel.
Hi Tempesttree, actually since the filming of this Stihl has upgraded/replaced the fuel line with one that is in-line and top-loading. The filter and all goes in the fuel line hole in the tank. Thank you for watching and commenting in a fine way.
How do you feel about the cheap aftermarket carburetors and fuel line off ebay,vs rebuilding the carburetor and buying oem lines? I know my carb needs rebuilt and my vent tube line is leaking like a sieve. Its a 2009 ms310,so id say ill replace all the rubber lines while ive got it apart.
I recommend OEM. STIHL'S new replacement fuel line and filter top load. It is really easy to do. For dependability there is nothing better. As for the carburetor/ kit, the same, I wouldn't buy aftermarket. Thank you for watching...
AVOID aftermarket fuel lines, they are flat out JUNK! Mine kinked and got a permanent Fold at the elbow, Right away!......useless junk! The scumbag seller lied and said it was OEM too.....just go to the dealer!
Claim Shell Cove.r Removal is part of the repair but not shown . Its stuck Im stuck. I will not change Impulse Line. Your other instructions are very good. If your your going to do something do it so the dumbest person in the world [ ME] can also do it...

Not to sound pretentious but it's not 100 percent you won't puncture the line with a screwdriver or something else like it. Myself,I'm looking for other methods. So far the best I've come across is use Vaseline, pressure and patience. Otherwise good video. Good camera work and information
Right on man. Fuel lines are my Achilles heel. Im down about four saws because I keep poking holes instead of taking advice and being patient. The tinman @tinmansaws says it takes him a half hour of just putting steady pressure and being patient.

Just a dab of grease or a couple squirts of silicone spray will help that rubber bushing go back in a lot easier

Silglide brand is the best that I have found, will not hurt rubber or silicone lines or grommets.
