I have one. On a Ford Raptor. Don't call it a gimmick or fake. Huge difference from with to without. I loved it at first. That being said, I've had it on for 2 years. I started noticing odd shifting, especially down shifting, or not shifting. Like to the point I thought something was f*cked up. I took the Pedal Commander off, and my problems are gone. I don't go by what people "say" ---- I go by what I actually experience, and that is what I've experienced.
People who like the pedal commander or any of the other clones have no idea how a throttle by wire system works. When you press down on the gas pedal your ecu sees the signal then sends your throttle body instructions on how far to open. The pedal commander attaches to the gas pedal and alters the signal that goes from the gas pedal to the ecu. The problem people are trying to fix with the device is the so called lag they feel when they press their gas pedal down and when the car actually starts moving. For some reason people think that the signal going from the gas pedal takes a long time to travel to the ecu and that is why they have a delay. The signal actually reaches the ecu instantly and the signal going from the ecu to the throttle body is instant as well. So why is there a delay? Because the automotive makers built it into the software. Its called torque management. If you slam your foot down to the floor what happens is the ecu says, nope, and gradually opens the throttle body not giving it full power right away because it doesnt want you to spin the tires and lose control of the car. Pretty much every modern car does this. So what does the pedal commander do? It lies to the ecu as to how far youre pressing the gas pedal. So if you press it 30 percent the ecu may see 50. So by the time youre at 70 to 80 to 90 percent the ecu is seeing 100 percent full throttle making it feel like the car is accelerating faster. The problem with this is that now the pedal resolution has been greatly lowered making it more light switch like and the 1 to 1 throttle pedal input vs output ratio has been thrown out which makes it feel less like the old throttle by cable systems which were 1 to 1 ratios. No matter what setting you have on the pedal commander the ecu will still slow down the rate at which your throttle opens since this product installs before the ecu signal and not after and torque management is still there. My opinion is that this product and all its clones are snake oil. These companies prey on people who dont understand how a modern throttle by wire system works. It doesnt get rid of any lag because there is none to get rid of. It will do nothing to how fast your car accelerates to sixty. Dont waste your money on this huge rip off. To get rid of that delay you have to get a tune which will remove torque management. Also, a tune can alter your throttle to output ratio to whatever your want making the pedal commander totally useless. Yes if you have both a tune and a pedal commander at the same time you have literally just flushed 300 bucks down the drain. This pedal commander is worth 30 bucks at most. My RC radio controller can do this exact same thing except I get to totally customize what my throttle does with a visual graph and lcd display plus I have atleast 20 more functions and its wireless all for 40 bucks. So please dont waste your money on this garbage product.
jayer 1981 Most tuning companies will lower the values by a noticeable amount. Some tuners like Lund for example will lower the amount plus adjust the throttle input vs output slightly. These two things combined will greatly change the feel of the car. I suggest you use a tuning company that will allow you to customize these settings. Also most of these companies will customize a lot more other settings like rpm red line limit, rpm hanging, engine braking and so on. If you have an auto tranny they can also totally customize how fast it shifts and at what rpm and so on.

Lets say approximately 1 second. Again, doesn't matter...it takes the same time to press whether you have PC or don't. *Without Pedal Commander - after 1/3 second you are at 33% throttle. With Pedal Commander - after 1/3 second you are at 70% throttle. *So now imagine....at 1/2 second in to the process of pressing the pedal in, will your vehicle will be FURTHER ahead on the road if it is at 70% throttle vs only 33% throttle? * I had a pedal commander. It works. For the reason I stated above. To understand my reason...you need to be able to read and comprehend. Many can't do that. I'm not saying it adds HP... doesn't do that. @@darrrenbetker4266 Chevy didn’t design the pedal commander. From the perspective of the designer of the vehicle, there is no problem. It’s exactly how they want it.
@@darrrenbetker4266 because auto manufacturers have to balance fuel economy, safety, performance, and other factors. A relatively mushy throttle response means a safer vehicle that uses less fuel, at the expense of a little performance. People who buy pedal commanders (and I am one of them) want to have control over that balance themselves, and to be able to shift their priority towards performance or fuel economy as it suits them.

Because of vehicle dependability. It bypasses the ECU witch could cause problems with valve timing, knocking sensor, and so on.
These comments have to be some of the worst attempts at English grammar I have ever seen!!
thatkyleguy 1...........The mentality of the millennial morons ranks close to bird droppings. Wait until these idiots start breeding.
Dumbing down of America continues!
Bob Smith I kinda hope they keep leaving out words to shorten their statements to where they eventually just don't talk anymore.
When installing this device does the remote have to be 30ft away from the truck? Or only certain car do that
400$ in Canada 🇨🇦
Why wouldn’t you just spend a little extra money and buy a legit programmer?
Because none of the programmers I know have that ability. This isn’t something in the tune, it’s a mechanical/design issue. Your programmer can’t boost the electric signal from the pedal to the TB.
Is Adam
looks like its made by Tonka
why doesnt chevy just fix the problem?
It’s not a “problem.” It’s how they designed it.... intentionally.
@@ClericalConsequences IF ITS NOT A PROBLEM THEN WHY DIS THEY BUILD A DEVICE TO ELIMINATE IT? i OWN ONE AND YEAS ITS A PROBLEM.
@@darrrenbetker4266 Chevy didn’t design the pedal commander. From the perspective of the designer of the vehicle, there is no problem. It’s exactly how they want it.
@@ClericalConsequences so.....why did they make it with a delay? and why then do people pay allot of money to get rid of it?
@@darrrenbetker4266 because auto manufacturers have to balance fuel economy, safety, performance, and other factors. A relatively mushy throttle response means a safer vehicle that uses less fuel, at the expense of a little performance. People who buy pedal commanders (and I am one of them) want to have control over that balance themselves, and to be able to shift their priority towards performance or fuel economy as it suits them.
um none of them are under 200 bucks as claimed
He didn't say under 200. He said just about 200
Where is the review?
I am the throttle commander for my truck. Not this gadget!
Talking without actually moving the vehicle for testing.
Pedal commander sucks. Had nothing but issues with this one. Puts truck into limp mode. They fixed it 2x third time they told me I had to pay for everything. Junk keep away
This will void your warranty.
No
Daniel Smith That wasn’t a question, it’s a statement. I’m a service tech at a dealership and if I find one of these on a vehicle I’m servicing I’m required to report it for a warranty void. You better remove it before you go into service.
@@RealSuperRando Oh! Thanks. I was just going by the manufacturer's statement. They said to hide it also because the dealership would try and void your warranty, but the law is on my side. You would be in for a fight which if you would ultimately win if you were up for a fight. The problem would have to be directly attributed to the aftermarket device.
Dont get this! I got it for 2016 silverado it was working good for like 2 yrs and and after a while my engile light turn on and the reduced power engine, it was telling me to replace my acceleration pedal sensor so i took off the pedal comander ,and the problem stop i just did a restart on the truck and now it’s working nice than ever . Didn’t need to replace anything.WASTE OF 300 dollars
No make sense install the device
