IPS has better colors and angle view with no ghosting, but i'll never use it because its bad contrast is the most noticable /annoying thing to me choose IPS only if you're hard fps gamer because VA has terrible ghosting, otherwise go for the VA because contrast is too important and i will never put 800 bucks in an OLED monitor... because i don't have them lol
For me it's OLED and it's because I understand it's technology however if I want to advise in purchasing a monitor I would tell em to go for a IPS Black monitor, but right now there isn't one with at least 120 hz, although you can game fine at 60hz, 120 hz is the sweet spot. I game with Dell UltraSharp U3223QE @ 60hz and it beats any monitor because it has deeper color accuracy and deeper blacks like an OLED. This monitor was meant for creative designers but I use it for gaming and it's perfect. There are future OLED monitors coming and they will be better than IPS Black and QD-OLED and will even beat WOLED too.
get the pg27aqdm when you ok with a bit lower brightness but youll get awsome contrast and if you want it bright go with the Pg27aqn in motion clarity they are kinda similar
The Asus OLED... IPS has terrible backlight bleed and in dark scenes you will notice this. I have an IPS monitor from ViewSonic that is just sitting in a corner because of backlight bleed and ill just wait till someone here at my work needs a new monitor and change that out for them. OLED is the way to go and the new OLED's coming out this spring/summer will be even better. 4K OLED's will be priced the same as the 1440p 16:9 and 21:9 ones now, so you might want to wait a bit longer and get that 1440p for less.
@@IceWarrior341 I have all OLED and have light leaks in the corners of one of my screens, the other seems fine though. I am considering switching to IPS though because I have heard as far as actual blur OLED is superior, but because of how our eyes work IPS motion blue will actually appear to be less motion blur. The higher refresh rate ends up canceling out the minor ghosting. Or at least that is what I read.
After OLED with ALLM, G-Sync and VRR. 7ms response time for gaming, with hardly any motion blur. I can never go back to VA or IPS. Sure the brightness takes a hit but I play in a dark room which is more than bright enough.
I'm happy with my 1440p 75Hz 10 bit PLS 2.0 monitor... The ASUS PB378qv monitor utilizes a Samsung PLS 2.0 pannel. I had a VA panel and boy did it have a lot of light bleed. For me OLED monitors seem to dark. Never had any dead pixels with my monitor. Plane Line Switching is the Samsung version of apples In-Plane Switching by the way. I will never go back to TN or VA panels again. This is one of the most color accurate monitors I've owned. The Contrast is great as well. Two Panel types I would never endorse are TN and VA. TN panels tend to look very bad when viewed at an angle and colors look really dull. On the other side VA panels tend to have a lot of backlight bleed through like I've said. As for OLED I would recommend them to anybody who wants or needs higher contrast than an IPS can provide. Otherwise IPS is a great option. As long as you stay away from LG, Dell, Alienware and ACER. Those brands have too many dead pixels and the build quality is not the best.
IPS is the best because it has better viewing angles so you can see it even if you're not head-on. And since you'll likely have a white background during the day, its flaws (blacks glow) are minimised.
If I play fps games, do I go for a 165 hz ips or va model. Im going for good response times but also rlly good colors (doesnt have to be anything top end tho, fps over resolution for me)

I disagree, OLED burn-in is a major issue however, owners that are aware of this issue can easilly avoid it. In gaming OLEDs tend to have the fastest response times whilst having amazing colour accuracy and of course, deep blacks.
As a VA owner who has used an IPS screen before, I hate the contrast of IPS, it looks too bright or glowy and while the colours are great, it sometimes makes things look washed out, it can be fine for gaming but it isn't great for watching movies/videos. While VA is slower and has weird colours, or ghosting, it still pretty much looks better besides in media work such as photoshop. Next time I buy a monitor I will go for OLED and not buy IPS no matter what, OLED is perfect and the burn in is easy to avoid.
