One of the most under rated song writing examples of the hard rock or metal era. Civil War by Guns N Roses brilliantly delviers a social commentary without sounding preachy. An epic song and Alexis loved it. @gunsnroses

Not many people realize how deep this song really is, which is why I'm so happy you do
It does make quite a few political statements that parallel some other songs I know that came before it.
Agreed
It's about all war@@TheStormblooper-100
Love This Song, When Guns N' Roses Were The Best Band In The World In The 90's, The Use Your Illusion Albums Are Brilliant.
A friend of mine wrote in my school yearbook that I listen to Use Your Illusion I and II too much, and that I need to get some new albums to listen to!
I still disagree. I listened to them just the right amount or maybe not enough, even though I had them playing all the time.
There was never an official video for this song.
That is correct
Better
Axl made a very profound statement in an interview with Circus magazine regarding this sound. He said "The only thing that separates a civil war from a revolution is the victor". That line has stuck with me to this day.
this is one of my favorite song by Gun n Roses
i used to be a heavy metal/rock dj & i always played this song very loudly!!!
Estranged will always be my favorite.
Absolutely incredible album. So many songs that are just in leagues of their own. Civil War, Locomotive (Complicity), Don't Cry (Alternate Lyrics), You Could Be Mine, and Estranged along with other amazing songs such as 14 Years, Yesterdays, Breakdown, Pretty Tied Up, and Knockin' On Heaven's Door, not to mention the hilarious Get in the Ring and the masterpiece to rule all masterpieces, My World. Some throwaway songs, just like any album, but overall powerful, well-made, and just plain rock. 9.5/10. Epic album.
Locomotive is so underrated. All time banger. Still my go-to if I need to get amped up.
Let's not neglect Don't Damn Me.
@@cmr8er8 thats use your illusion 1 goofball
Rocket Queen is my favorite guns n' roses song ever
Yeah, I loved that he brought up Rocket Queen. Also my favorite GNR song. Appetite is just such a banger of an album, but ending the ride of listening to it straight though with that as the last track is just awesome.
For me, GnR is one of the great rock tragedies. With all that they accomplished if they had been able to get over their interpersonal sh*t they could have been gods with an unrivaled discography. The albums left unrealized, the concerts left unseen, the Rock left unrolled . . . fills me with melancholy for what should have been.
No Izzy, no party. He's the unsung hero of the band and a great co-writer with Axl. Since he left the band, just the one album (of original material).
@@TheTruth-pl3mkI'd argue Duff was more important, with Izzy being #2. Of course Slash gets all of the glory...but he's (Axl) is still hanging on. Voice is shot, but he's giving it the college try. The tribute to Lisa Marie should have NEVER happened...that was a travesty. I'm still rocking out to them - re-living my childhood.
@@TheSpud1129I think it was the ac/dc stuff that wrecked his voice but he enjoyed working with them too much not to do it.
The last song featuring the original 5 members.
Don't forget forgot when this song first came out it was in 1991 during the year the first gulf war . It's a great song from Guns and Roses .
There is no GNR approved video for this song. Any video you have seen with song was done by fans
This song brings tears to my eyes...
My favourite GNR song
You should show her live version from paris '92.
Nah this is better. Has Izzy on guitar and Steven Adler on drums.
I love love love this song!
That intro is from a Paul Newman movie, "COOL HAND LUKE"
This song is proof that artists back then were much more than just 'one sound' like most artists today. They were known for living the rockstar lifestyle but they were artists, playing a part and this song shows the depth
Bless their hearts they are all still alive.
The line that said the bloody hands of the hypnotized who carry the cross of homicide has such just a deep meaning from the Civil War and every war, since definitely my favorite line in this song👍🎶🎶🎶🎵
Nobody better than Guns N' Roses or Axl Rose!!!
"What so civil about war anyway?".. Timeless song because is, unfortunately, more and more actual. Love your reaction. Believe me, i know, i am from Serbia.History here steel have scars of our civil wars in former Yugoslavia. As humans, we all have so much to learn from this song. Thank you for reminding me on this legendary song. ✌️
I remember the day this song got released... But I can not remember that there was a video for it.
Extremely Erie and unsettling this song like Queensryches Revolution Calling is so relevant to what is happening right now
[XG TAPE #2] GALZ XYPHER (COCONA, MAYA, HARVEY, JURIN)
Axl did use to have a humongous range - I've heard it said of over 4 octaves (that's at least 52 of your piano keys, including the black ones).... One of the most impressive singer appearances, like Bach, Gillan, Dio, Coverdale, Page, Joplin, Streissand - a jaw-dropper, a to-the-knees-bringer, an amazer.
Axl has a 5 octave range, which he shows off. One of GnR's best.
I love GnR. Great reaction to a profound song.
This is my 4th fav song by GNR. Grew up listening to them! Under-rated song...but it still hits home after almost 30 years. That's the sign that it's done correctly!
I've always loved this song, thanks for reacting to this. I remember the video to it being pretty heavy as well, it's a shame many people won't have the opportunity to see it anymore.
A good GnR song. It's certainly politically charged and contains some poignant verses. It contains an entire verse about President Kennedy's assassination. It also deals with the Vietnam War and the battle for civil rights in the US. The line "And history bears the scars of our civil wars" reminds me of Iron Maidens 2 Minutes to Midnight - "Go to war again, Blood is Freedom's stain and the lines "It feeds the rich while it buries the poor. You're power-hungry, sellin' soldiers in a human grocery store" reminds me of Black Sabbath's War Pigs "Politicians hide themselves away They only started the war, Why should they go out to fight? They leave that role to the poor.
Great pick ! I grew up in the 80s loving the metal picks, you should find a few ACDC videos from river plate, she would definitely experience the wow ! Factor! My favorite band I ever saw in concert!
There was never an official video made for this song.
There are fan made videos & live version videos.
One of the most distinct voices in rock. One of their best songs. Power lyrics.
Let’s get Whitesnake In The Still of the night up for Alexis.
This song first came out on a benefit album for Romanian orphans called. Nobody’s Child.
Great song!😊
Unfortunately, this is a song that hits the world hard, today more than ever. GNR had some very deep lyrics.
Check out this song "Live in Paris", so much better. also “Live Tokyo”. GNR were absolutely amazing live during this time
I don’t recall there being a video for this song.
Amazing!!!
Strother Martin giving the speech at the start of the song. From the movie Cold Hand Luke. The intro and outro whistle by Axl are the old American Civil War song When Johnny Comes Marching Home. The interlude quotes a Peruvian Shining Path guerilla officer. This song are the only one that featured the original drummer Steven Adler. The rest was done by Matt Sorum.
@Flickering Box Burch yur correct all i could fined was the live version.
"What's so civil about war anyway.....?"
Their best song in my opinion. 🤘😎
There was never a music video for this song. They released the live performance of it from Tokyo but thats it. There was never a video for this song.
If you do their live version, they have all kinds of videos. I just saw one 15 minutes before I went to you. Love you guys.
My favorite G n R song!
I am from malaysia🇲🇾 like icon band 1984 night of crime 1985
Great white -1983
Great white -1985 shot in the dark
Twisted sister
Motley crue - theatre of pain 1985
Motley crue- girls girls girls
This song was released on Use Your Illusion II, but technically it was released on GN'R Lies first.
More GNR 🔥
You should do Patience to show her the differences in his voice.
Masterpiece. 🤘🏻
You made the right choice. Rise Against is not good and neither is the cover. It isn't terrible, but in no way is it better.
That was magical when they were here in colombia.. (Bogotá 1992) (Medellin 2015)
Hi there ! and thank you for a very good channel..! to me this song is one of the best songs all time...!! and i gotta say Burch ou´re the second luckiest man there is you got to sit next to her and talk and analyze music.. Alexis husband is number one luckiest... God She´s so straight up beautiful!!
Yes in the day the song It's So Easy" people thought it was another band member singing it, but no it was Axl all along...
0:35 - Maybe it's a Mandela Effect.
3:22-3:27 - That's my voicemail notification ringtone.
Such a great song... And, I believe you are correct there was a video for this song. I remember seeing it many times... Unless you and I are having a Mandela effect here.
I remember it too. It's out there somewhere.
I don't know if you've already done this, but if she wants to hear another song with his voice changing like that, you should do Rocket Queen❤❤
LMAO! Great song!! Edit, just have her agree. Edit, just agree
Probably Guns N Roses best song.
I started recording videos off of Headbanger's Ball on vhs back in the day. I still record them (though digitally and on DVD now). Approximately 138 hours worth of music videos after all these years. I have the video for this if you want it.
Guns n roses rocket queen live Tokyo plis🙏
great song, great reaction video ... but I think she is heavy breathing not because of the song ... Baby is doin' "rock n roll all nite and party every day" in her body!!!!
Lyrically, Axel at his best IMO
gotta do "Coma" next!
Powerful message put to some fine music here. Their best along with Rocket Queen to me. Poisons-Something To Believe In is the best by them as well. My Op. of course.
Thank You
❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤
🎉🎉🎉🎉
Excellent reaction, I would like you to react to more Guns n Roses songs, thank you. Good vibes. 💚💛❤️
Estranged is also a great song
My favorite song ever
Such a great song from Guns !
I think you really should react to "Stay" from Giant. Dann Huff is a guitar beast.
Thank you
Just at the right moment! 😢
Axl's singing voice spanned 5 whole octaves; 6 at his absolute peak. While some might dispute the veracity of this claim, there is no serious individual who denies he had an octave range of at least 4, which is rather insane even by itself.
Appropriate song for these times.
"What's so civil about war anyway?"
Nothing
"It feeds the rich while it buries the poor"
Always has, always will.
Good choice.
Cool Hand Luke intro
Fantastic film
I googled for the video and some came up so not sure why you can’t find it
Do k
ot believe they ever made a video for it. Some video company did one for the song, that got a lot of views but, I don't believe the band made one.
Please show her a live video of Guns N Roses
i would like too see yo do WASP - Chainsaw Charlie original album version from 1992
The Cure Picture Of You Pleeeassseeeeeee....❤❤❤
Do Rocket Queen please
Vocês poderiam fazer um react da música ESTRANGED do Guns n roses ao vivo em Tóquio 1992 please
The line i like is you can't trust freedom when it is not in your hands long live 2nd amendment
Matchbox 20 Push. And 4 Non blondes what's up. Reaction ple ☺️👍
Check out shotgun messiah
Do the live 1992
I found it on youtube but it is violence restricted
Only complaint I've ever had with this song is the overuse of the wah pedal
LA guns and roses
There wasn't a video so i don't know what your talking about
please react to rocket queen
Boa tarde
Listen to Patience or Don’t Cry.
Y’all need to react to Metallica covering Elton John
Great song, great react. Alexis, you look like a super model.
Yea his lower octave vocals are way different
AC DC
Very similar to War Pigs
Just watched the movie Civil War, it's alright...could've been much better
It needed Slash
Theres no video but this live version is awesome th-cam.com/video/KuBD8qm6rMI/w-d-xo.html
