Owned it a year now, put 24k on it so far and no issues besides the 8spd transmission shifting hard every now and then and the exhaust sound. I average about 24mpg and I've towed 5k with it a few times and hauled over 1k regularly in the bed, no issues at all. that turbo sound is addicting too lol great engine/truck imo

Its the Chevy Cruzearado. It's neat truck and it has plenty of power and I bet it will tow fine too. If you force enough air and fuel in anything you will get more power. The problem is there is a trade off in future repairs. My problem is I keep my trucks forever and use them to do real work. I don't want to have to deal with dead turbos, plastic intake manifolds, and oil blowing out of every seal because of a screwed up EGR design. I want a more traditional overhead valve, non-turbo engine V6 or V8. These may turn out to be great reliable trucks without a lot of problems, but I don't think so. I do have to give Chevy credit for trying something new though. Time will tell. Lets see how much people love them 5 years from now.

I don't know about the 1.4l turbo but the Ecotecs don't die. I've got a 2007 2.4L that's really in too heavy and large vehicle for the amount of torque that it produces, and even under that added load of a 3600 pound Saturn Aura mid size sedan, the engine sounds and runs like new after twelve years and 160K plus miles. Whoever said GM can't make 4 cylinders has lost his or her mind. The first two are good options for longevity...the last one is not. I don't care what Chevy says...adding a turbo is a terrible idea in a truck that's expected to actually "work". I can't wait to see some of these trucks once they hit the 120k mark or so. Whereas I've had 5.3's last 250+k I highly doubt you'll see the same thing from these little turbos. These are meant to last for the duration of the original owner who will buy then sell before 100k. The USED market will see the brunt of the issues for sure in this truck.

Well that just goes to show you what Chevy people know. Anyways. This 4.3 has no power till you really get into the gas. And they front load the peddle so even with a light foot it will get up in the 5000 RPM range. It drops down to V4 mode but that is only going downhill and with out touching the gas. So with my best attempts to get the best MPG I have gotten 20mpg. My take on this. The 4cly turbo would be great for the guy that only need to carry people and get ok gas milage. The other side to that is. Are company 2016 f150 3.5 4x4 crew cab with 20in rims and 35s gets 25mpg is the fastest truck in our fleet of 9 other Chevys and is the only truck we have kept over 60xxx miles. The technology has been around for a while. Rally cars have 600hp turbo 4 cylinders, and go from 0-60 1.9 seconds. But they do not last long at all, because of the stress that has to be put onto the smaller engines. Like, the rally cars engines have to be rebuilt after every race.

I tried one out , and no shit it is probably a little quicker than the 5.3. Pretty impressive. Would I buy one no way. I went with the 5.3. Good lease option for someone that just wants truck for dump runs or home depot runs

It's a very smart engine if you think about. You don't need cylinder deactivation and things making it brittle. It's just oversized pistons and cams doing some few big bangs. Very clever concept that I didn't expected the americans to bring first.

He should be able to get it for tens of thousands of dollars less then a new truck since it isn't a new truck anymore. It is now used and has miles on it and use by the dealership for whatever errands they have been running in it.

I just bought a 2021 Chevy Silverado Custom with the 2.7L in it I’m very impressed with the engineering behind this engine. This will be the 2nd Chevy I have ever owned and I’m very happy with it so far and so is my wife when she drives it. Definitely has a lot of power I’m a hardcore Toyota and I’m glad my wife talked me into getting a Silverado very happy so far Please tell Devin Davis that Jay said hi I bought an equinox from him many years ago when I was stationed at Fort Knox.

Bought this is in a 2021 in 20 gmc elevation crew cab and the 2.7 turbo. This engine amazes me, it is quick you don’t really notice the difference between the v8 as my work trucks have the 4.8 dogs lol. I tow about 4 or 5 thousand pound triller 2 or 3 times a years with zero issues. Being here in Canada the mileage is amazing for a truck. I am getting just under 25 mpg as my life time average. Highway I have seen 28 to 31 mpg which the i speed so far so good lol has been flawless. I have about 14 thousand miles on mine now and I would definitely get another one. My lease is up in just over a year and barring anything else in the market I will be getting another 2.7.

@@kennordsfan1494 I love what Chevy did with the engineering behind this engine I love how they put more torque behind the 2022 2.7L engine I surprise a lot of people when I tell them that it has a 4 cylinder engine honestly when me and my ex wife test drove my truck when we bought it we were both like holy shit
