    • @ForestNinjaZero
      @ForestNinjaZero 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mardan Plays They can't afford it because there aren't enough educated enthusiasts who understand the industry value of cutting-edge architecture. All consumers are interested in is whether or not they can save five dollars and raise their frame rate by one FPS with pretentious tweaking apps. If you support ultra class products, the price will fall and industry leaders such as EA (they're actually a respectable company despite the rumors) will invest more in advancement of ultra quality world development and character modeling.

The GTX 980Ti has been delayed until 2016 so it may be awhile before we see the 1080, and then however long it takes to release the 1080ti after that... Based on the gap between the 980 and the 980ti... it doesn't seem like it'll be a short wait. That's my point, lol.

      Nonconformist 02
      Amd is coming out with a 390 x that should be a bit faster and will be cheaper in 2-3 months. You will get a whole bunch of nvidia=finsihed when this happens.
      Price to performance will never be the best on the high end. Spending more than $400 on a gpu at anytime ever, you will not be getting the best price to performance ratio.

    • @BalubishTech

      True, I bought a GTX 780 Hydro copper last year for $700 bucks, and that was couple months before they launched 980. But it was alot of money but I am really happy with the card though.

    • @skymooov132
      @skymooov132 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michael Angst I still blame AMD for lack of sufficient competition for Nvidia high prices. The original GTX Titan should have never cost $1000 but because AMD had nothing that could compete at the time Nvidia was able sell the first $1000 single gpu graphics card. And this coming from someone who has 3 way SLI GTX Titan.

    • @BalubishTech
      @BalubishTech 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope the regular Titan was to high. Atleast for gaming i have oc my card so much that i have better scores than that card. And yes AMD should push out more to lower the prices more.

    TBH, I'm not that impressed with the Titan X offering.
    If it was in similar price range as current 295x2 which is around 700~750USD I would get it. More VRAM, less power usage than 295x2 but 20% less FPS on most games.
    999$ price range is a bit too high given that despite whatever is in the video, performance indicated by the benchmarks isn't the most amazing and the display interfaces are still old which is another bottleneck in 4K gaming.

    • @johnkang2000
      @johnkang2000 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-titan-x-gm200-maxwell,4091.html
      TBH, I am biased though as an owner of 295x2.
      The disadvantage of 295x2 is the latency issue when using AFR technique. However, forcing supertiling SFR via RadeonPro on most games drops the FPS by 10~20% compared to the AFR method, however removes all micro stuttering and latency issues associated with AFR. Now with this frame drop, 295x2 still outperforms the titan.
      Titan X IMO is a bit of confused product. 12VRAM is great for GPGPU, but for gaming... Put it this way: high resolution gaming with higher textures and resultant higher textured mip-maps, other assets can really chew up the VRAM. On the other hand, if you are game developer and you are chewing more than 4GB VRAM, I think one should really take advantage of current DirectX 12/ Vulkan APIs that allows access to lower level memory management and split up the memory asset for multiple GPUs.
      Summary:
      -If you are running a game that will need more than 4GB VRAM, I don't think a single GPU solution is good enough, even with GTX Titan X.
      -If you are mirroring the VRAM so essentially SLIing Titan X is 12 + 12 = 12GB memory, it makes sense since there is enough memory even after being mirrored.
      -However, if a game dev is seriously using so much VRAM, they are pretty much obliged to take advantage of latest APIs and implement more efficient non-mirroring memory allocator. This in turn renders extra VRAM in Titan X somewhat a null point.
      -So far, there were no games that required that much VRAM, Shadow of Mordor came pretty damn close.
      One huge major disadvantage for 295x2 is the heat and electricity. For me though, I'm running custom water loop with 4 peltiers cooling the water, electricity consumption from cooling set up is more than the GPU, but I have solar panels and electricity bill is pretty much negative at my residence.
      Another possible advantage is getting a waterblock for Titan X and overclocking it. 295x2 is already clocked higher than the 290x, and they are from seperate higher quality bin. That being said, I could only OC to 1100MHz, and even then I get minor "snowing" artifact- also because SFR Supertiling sets the load on GPU 100% most of the times. From the way 980 overclocks with decent water cooling, the titan could probably do it very well.
      Oh here it is:
      www.anandtech.com/show/9059/the-nvidia-geforce-gtx-titan-x-review/17
      With the OC, Titan X is 1fps behind the 295x2 which is pretty good.
      Update:
      Regards to using supertiling SFR, this is pretty much worst case scenario where the game does not have optimized crossfire profile and also have stuttering problem with AFR.

    • @wilsonlim5343
      @wilsonlim5343 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to understand that the Titan X wasn't solely created for games. The original idea behind it (the first Titan) was to help create scenes like what you saw in the video hence the huge VRAM. I don't think running a game on 3 4K monitors could even reach 10GB. R9 295X2 are 2 GPUs in one card, while this has a single GPU. Comparing the both, like you said the R9 295X2 gave you 20% more FPS than the Titan X. Imagine 2 Titan X in SLI. Unbeatable performance.

    • @wilsonlim5343
      @wilsonlim5343 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course Nvidia could've fit 2 GPUs in a single card, but they wanted to air cool it with a higher heat TDP. Sorry I did not just edit my previous comment, I am not on a PC right now

      Wilson Lim I'd like to see a 2 295X2 vs 2 Titan X's

    • @johnkang2000
      @johnkang2000 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wilson Lim Yes, that's the big appeal of Titan X, GPGPU performance and DCC. However, I am hesitant for now to comment on the Titan's performance in non-gaming area as I've personally seen very little benchmarks regarding them yet.
      Whilst not a most professional digital artist, I do few minor DCC like Blender, FX editor in UE, and few minor photoshop/light room works. To me though, my current set up works just fine. I feel that only bottleneck in my current workflow is the compilation part-since UE tends to have slightly slower build time compared to Unity and others.
      TL;DR: Yes, I agree with you, the above post was regarding the gaming performance. That being said, 295x2 is not a poor performer in rendering areas.

    Not much of a difference it's close to GTX 980 but more Vram and 1000 more CUDA Cores lol. i just brought myself GTX 970 Why should i bother buying another Card.. NVIDIA should at least wait couple of years before realising anything like this or even upgrade the card Further why not 20 GB Of vram why not 10000+ Cores it'll be a beast

    If it's render in real time, show me a framerate/frametime counter, resolution, operating temperatures and number of video cards.
    No one wants to see a cheesy animation, which apart from it's draw distance - is far from impressive.
