      Wait for Navi 14 which will come in the next couple of months. That is AMD's low end graphics cards it will, just like the 5700 and XT cause a big price drop for the 1660 and ti. I'm telling you everything Nvidia has released that doesn't have a direct competitor to it's performance is severely overpriced.The reason they have not already moved to 7nm is because it is more expensive to produce and Nvidia's share holders want those profit margins so they won't move until 7nm gets cheaper or AMD produce something better than the 2080 ti.

    • @_Jayonics
      @_Jayonics 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@realsemig Don't take what I say as fact. It's just my opinion but I think it's close enough to fact that their hardware is overpriced and we need some competition from AMD to sort it out. Intel is also joining the GPU game and already put ray tracing on it's cards that work in DX11 and DX12 unlike nvidia's which only works in DX12. Intels does not need specialised hardware for it either.

    I forget who said it but here's a quote regarding one of the largest hurdles with modern self driving cars "Even if the autonomous car can cut down the accident rate in America from 40,000 to 20,000 then that's twenty thousand lawsuits heading straight to the car company's door." People are obviously going to blame the software, and even the best software is never perfect.

    • @MattHoffmannn
      @MattHoffmannn 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Well, we can assume it wont make it out the door unless it is far safer than even that. Not to mention, a lot of the main reasons accidents happen (drunk drivers come to mind) will be gone. Heck, just by eliminating drunk driving you'd probably cut 20k deaths.

    • @BaseCu327
      @BaseCu327 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not saying it won't happen, what I'm saying is policy will be years behind the technology to actually accomplish it. I really hope companies like Tesla can pull their PR punches when the time comes.

    • @JM-fp3gf
      @JM-fp3gf 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +The Addiction 2 The thing that's wrong with that line of thinking is that the self driving cars will be covered in cameras, and in court it will be obvious which party was actually at fault, and with googles early prototype cars, its been other, human driven, cars at fault 100% of the time.

    • @Vylkeer
      @Vylkeer 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +The Addiction 2 Right. And I don't care what the statistics say but most of those collisions / accidents are mainly being caused by idiot, incapable of driving people, elders, drunk people and so on. Skilled and passionate drivers account for like 4% of those and that number could be lowered with new technologies like ultrasonic sensors, auto-steering, auto-braking and so forth.

    I can't ever see driven cars being outlawed in the UK. Not ever. I'm all for autopilot, but you can NEVER take away the driver's ability to take control when necessary. Elon Musk might have been joking when he said you might see driven cars outlawed, but I think he was deadly serious.
    Our island nation is simply too populated; our roadways were designed originally for horse and carriage, and therefore the vast majority of our roads are narrow, very twisty, and our residential areas too packed.
    It's not like most of the USA where you've got masses and masses of open space, really clear and obvious lane markings, and long left and right turn lanes.
    What we Brits have to contend with on a frequent basis include but are by no means limited to:
    - Cars parked on both sides of the road in a zig-zag fashion, causing you to slalom up the road
    - Situations where the parked cars carry on for so far that an autonomous car is going to have to make very intelligent decisions when to go, so as to not block oncoming traffic. Even if you've got right of way because the cars are parked on the other side of the road, sometimes you have to yield instead because the oncoming vehicle has nowhere to pull in to.
    - A great deal of blind corners that require you to 'peep and creep' into the junction until you're ready to commit.
    - Single-file hedgerow lanes with very few, often far apart passing places. Most of these passing places are muddy, slippery or potholed and require cautious navigation.
    - Terrible road surface quality, creating ruts and potholes that could potentially force an autopiloted car to swerve onto the other side of the road unexpectedly to avoid.
    - Very strange traffic calming measures including narrow choke points, swerve-gates (with no lane markings, or lane markings that continue in a straight line despite the fact the traffic calming measure forces you to change lanes.
    - Poor road works, sometimes without temporary traffic lights, or just a workman telling traffic when to stop or go.
    - Sometimes a policeman can diirect traffic, but I've only seen it a handful of times. We also have 'lollipop ladies' who hold up a stop/go sign to help children cross the road.
    - Sections of two-way road that have no lane markings at all. Would the autopilot software accidentally treat it as a single lane?
    - Sections of roadway where lanes unexpectedly narrow to the point where two cars trying to squeeze past at the same time would collide.
    - Hazardous cycle lanes that aren't marked very well and unexpectedly merge with the roadway.
    - Certain traffic-light-free junctions that are so busy at certain hours of the day that the ONLY way to get out of them is to aggressively push yourself out forcing oncoming vehicles to slow down for you.
    - Situations where traffic lights fail and it's a free-for-all where nobody has right of way, and it turns into a circus of people pushing into the junction at once.
    - Traffic lights that for some reason stay stuck on red, forcing you to eventually jump them anyway. Would the autopilot do this?
    - Tiny 50ft slip roads joining onto 80 MPH A-roads (freeways). These slip roads are so stupidly short you'd need a supercar to reach the speed of traffic using them, so you're usually forced to slow people down during rush hour, or you end up waiting ages to join on.
    - Roundabouts. Including some very dodgy roundabouts where you can hardly see what's coming due to line of sight, or where the lanes are a complete mess (markings vanish and reappear in different locations) and would confuse an autopilot system.

      Will Davis You make some excellent points, these situations are going to be challenging in the early days of autonomous cars. It'll take smart software, connected cars, and advanced sensors to navigate through all of those hazards. Thanks for sharing!

      @joeya5438 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Will Davis I think he meant that given the commonality of collisions now; In the future the self driving cars will be so much safer humans that it would be considered reckless to drive a car manually. My guess would be that by the time this level of safety is achieved the normal speed of traffic will be considerably higher.

    • @Vylkeer

      +Will Davis That will never happen because driving is like an art. It's a pleasure, a journey. At least here in Italy and almost anywhere across the World. Is like a Human Right. I'm also in for innovations also regarding safety and autopilot, as long as it remains an option to the driver. A fully-automatic vehicle should be used by people incapable of driving really like elders, people that drink a lot and people that just isn't good at it. Then all the other vehicles need to be manual by default with the option of autopilot (which could come in handy to take a nap etc ...) and just carry over some technologies like ultrasonic sensors and such to help the driver avoid accidents.

    • @aaron4820
      @aaron4820 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vylkeer Driving is like art for people who have the leisure to enjoy driving, there is nothing enjoyable about having to commute to work every morning tired and stuck in traffic. Your analogy is like saying painting is art, without realising 99.999% of the people that paint are just decorators / painters who paint thousands of walls one colour as a job, not artists who produce work of art. As autopilot becomes better and better, and more and more safe, manual driving will become more and more regulated, essentially to be allowed a manual car, you'd need to have special exams to prove that you're safe, like getting a pilot license or a gun license. You can do it for fun, but only if you are willing to take the extra steps.

    In the future I hear that they are creating a new space aged type of transmission system that automagically changes the gears for you, negating the need for a human being to change gears and operate the clutch which, as we all know can literally damage the car if done improperly
    I can't wait for these "automatic" transmissions to come out so that they can rid the world of these deadly stick shifts which are constantly prone to human error. I imagine that once it is shown that the automatic transmission systems can change gears safer than a manual transmission that they will outlaw manual transmission cars.
    It's only logical. I mean, why would you not? I can't see it going any other way really. Nobody enjoys changing gears after all, so what's the point?

Plus, I have a car with manual and never had a problem with it, it depends on the driver. And changing gears is like the most beautiful thing ever, you're not a really passionate and skilled driver if you think it that way. Btw it's incredible you don't know that cars with automatic transmission have been around for decades.
