    You've been strong for so long Fey.... Just knowing a little about your story.... Damn, If the same happened to me, I would have given up a long time ago or may have been dead.
    I couldn't imagine enough what you had gone through and hence, I'm in no position to offer any advice to you. As much as I am helpless about it, I want you to be happy with the whole of my heart❤...
    It's my personal belief that you didn't deserve the bad circumstances you went through. I wish there was a magic word to say that could make everything sad or negative thing go away you know.
    No matter what, you are a treasure, a gem, your strength is admirable and you inspire me to be stronger even though you don't do it intentionally 🤗

      Thank you for your comment, Jay. I assure you that I am in the best position I have been in my entire life and I am largely much better for it. I am happy, loved, and cared for - things I never thought I would experience throughout my childhood.
      Despite all my struggles, I wouldn't want a magic word to take away all my pain and suffering - it is an essential part of who I am and how I have become me. It has taught me a lot about myself and the world around me, and I hope to grow more and more every day with them.
      I am that I am

      @@mozillafirefay I love this! I was so happy when I read that you are happy, you are loved and cared for. I was so worried about the depression, your past experience and other things leading you to a state that will break so many people's hearts that love you. I'm so glad that's not the case..
      And yes, you are right. Our stories are an essential part of who we are and it shouldn't be taken away because the lessons and the wisdom may be taken away also. Good to know... Thanks Fey🤗

    This was extremely informative because i really wanna get help myself. I have been dealing with depressive episodes that have become unbearable recently and i really want a professional intervention. Do you have any advice on how to seek them out and find a reputable source since u have already went through all that😅

    • @mozillafirefay

      Hi Fatima, thank you for your comment. It depends firstly where you live and how available mental health treatment is to you. I would start by seeing your GP or local doctor and explaining your symptoms to them as best as you can - they can advise you from here and possibly refer you to a service that will support you with your depressive symptoms.
      It can be really hard to find support, so try not to be discouraged if you don't like your initial therapist or if the first medication you try is not a good fit :) It took me many years to find the right help and the right medicines to get myself sorted.

      Hi Spooky, nice to hear from you and sorry to hear about your experience. You're welcome to connect with me via social media, but I generally don't meet people in person (I've had some really challenging experiences with this) :)
      Welcome to the community ❤️ I hope I've been helpful 🙂

    Is there a reason to be depressed or could it just be spontaneous like a chemical imbalance just occuring in your brain? Could it be both? Could it be a symptom of something bigger we don't know about?

    • @mozillafirefay
      @mozillafirefay  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Jay, clinical depression is characterised by chemical imbalances in the brain that don't allow serotonin (a happy chemical) to be processed properly.
      Depression, in terms of feel, strips all the emotion and colour from your perception. It's the emotional equivalent of watching paint dry while you experience your life.
      It can be a consequence of trauma in early or later life as well as genetic factors. There are both genetic and environmental factors that cause it to occur in different people.
      I hope that answers your question

      @JayFocus1 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@mozillafirefay It does, Is it completely curable? I wish it was. How well can it be managed if it's not? In the case of clinical depression, how effective are drugs in restoring chemical balance that allows the production of serotonin? So many questions...My Apologies 😇🙏

    • @mozillafirefay
      @mozillafirefay  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm not sure tbh if depression can be cured. It depends on the kind of depression and how it manifests in different people. There are people who have experienced depression for a short amount of time (while they are grieving, for example, or post-partum) but those with clinical diagnoses typically experience depression at length and so this would be considered chronic.
      Of course, always seek a professional for medicine and dosages - but depression is largely managed by the use of medicines like SSRIs or mood stabilisers as well as a talking therapy like counseling, CBT, psychotherapy and others. These medications allow for serotonin and other chemicals to be more balanced in the brain but usually takes some trial and error as the side effects can be difficult to deal with initially.
