    Personally I don't think they have the evidence to say RA is the person. They basically put him in solitary confinement and threatened his wife and daughter to get a confession out of him. Very sad situation all the way around for Abby, Libby their families and everyone else involved in this.

      It's so outrageous and disturbing that they not only tossed him into a prison but also solitary confinement. He worked at the local pharmacy... no criminal record... no reason whatsoever to treat him like Hannibal Lector. It's absolutely no wonder he lost his mind... anyone would. It's sick that all it seems that this man did was come forward to help investigators. The FBI doesn't even think he was at the scene later in the day... it's sick whats happening here.

      To be fair I think there is is a lot of reasonable doubt at this point, but I wouldn't expect them to recover DNA from his home 7 years later. Especially if a killer made any kind of point to clean up. To me that piece of evidence is sort of null it means very little either way. The only exception is not finding any blood in his vehicle assuming he's driving the same vehicle. Blood stains stuff and in a crime scene this brutal it's hard to believe he could get into his car and not leave any blood stains.

      @jacksonjones3152 The feds thought the guy was 5'10". The SKIN DNA under both girls nails isn't his. The confessions are absurd, from a madman of prison forced drugs & daily fed info from the doc, per what she herself said, about telling him things from outside fangirl groups she was part of, & at least 2 doctors said he was psychotic, likely from long term solitary. The bullet is 100% COMPLETE junk science, if any experiment can't be recreated, it's dead in the water, & that goes for all scientific experiments since the beginning of time. The medical examiner CHANGED their opinion, to fit a false confession. Cops magically 'lost/ erased' interviews, so evidence wouldn't come out. 🙄 This isn't VCR tapes from the 80's, it's all digital with back up storage, so they're full on preventing a defense. You should be completely outraged from justice for these girls, & the attempt to thwart real justice. Don't you know, NOBODY can be convicted now, ever, with all the BRADY Violations? You should be outraged at the cops, & the court. Complete sh*t show. Demand better.

      I'd question why he's confessed sixty times to the murder and how he knew details about the case that hadn't been made public if he's innocent? That's the burning question. Could be the confessions were coerced. The police claimed he knew details about the case that hadn't been made public. Yet there is not a single shred of DNA linking him to the crime scene. Could be he helped out with the abduction of the girls. He didn't have to touch them for that. He could have simply threatened them with a gun and someone else killed the girls. Something is definitely off with this case.

      He isn't innocent. The sad part is that this investigation was so horribly done that he will now most likely walk free. THAT is the sad part. You don't confess over 60 times and use details that ONLY the murderer would have known like using a box cutter (that info was never given to the public BEFORE he made those confessions), admit to wearing the same exact outfit that is seen on the bridge guy in the video (he didn't know they had the video when he told them what clothes he was wearing, they matched to a T), he wouldn't have said "it's over" either. No innocent man says that. It blows my mind that people genuinely believe he is innocent now just because this investigation was obviously botched. That doesn't mean they have the wrong man, that just means they didn't dot their i's and cross their t's. He just so happened to park his car in a location that he didn't have to either? What about the round that was found at the scene that came from Allen's gun? He did it. He's just going to walk now because the police were horrible at their jobs and just expected Allen to take a plea deal.

May not be the same brand, but the same style of boot, even that color is sold everywhere around here. Same for the jacket. Men here wear Carhart, women too. It very popular. This happens quite often nowadays. Once investigators have a suspect, or lead they like, all focus goes to gathering evidence against them. Everything else will be disregarded unless someone competent is around to prevent it from happening. The percentage of cases that go unsolved, and people charged with crimes that bear no evidence against them is appalling.
      I've personally filed complaints about the way they investigate in my city. They wait for one lead and devote all resources to that lead. And the courts are so incompetent that people get indicted regardless of their being enough evidence. Bail is hard to get in high profile cases. And once you're locked up, you are under a lot of psychological pressure. The prosecutor's office is given an extremely unfair advantage. The process is, in fact, designed to favor them so they can get easier convictions.
      The heads of every component of that system are elected officials, and I feel like that needs to change

      For what it’s worth (and while it’s obvious there was a sexual component to the crime… does TH-cam allow me to say that word?) repeatedly testimony has stated there was no sign of SA with either girl. The theory is the killer was interuppted or who the heck knows what goes on in such a twisted mind. But if there’s anything even vaguely good to be said (god, especially after the details shared here. The tears detail. I had to stop the video for a bit. Ugh) they weren’t SA’d to the degree you’re implying. This we know. It’s god awful either way but just wanted to point that out.
      That’s barely a comfort given the details shared in this very video but just struck me as a weird thing to be saying given we know that wasn’t the case.
      Most infuriating is wrong or right guy (I still lean towards logically speaking there’s a considerable chance they got the right guy) we will most likely never even know because LE screwed this up so bad over and over and over again. That’s the part that gets me. Small town blah blah so some initial mistakes, this is somewhat understandable. But that the state police played a considerable role in things and have no excuse not to know better and both they and local LE continuously botched this case and mishandled all sorts of things from start to finish for over 7 and a half years?! Hole man is a liar from hell he knows Richard Allen had nothing to do with the murders. It saddens me to think some people think Richard Allen is a killer. He was as innocent man trying to help out that is all. It could have happened to any of us. Start looking at the odinist, they interviewed them after patty german pointed her finger their way.and that was a few days after the murders . Does that not say something.? Or does everyone that has no idea want Richard to pay for they’re doings?

    how the hell did LE feel confident arresting him with this evidence (or lack thereof)? They had nothing. The so called "confessions" happened long after he was arrested. So again, what evidence did they have to arrest him? It's not illegal to go to a park or to resemble someone.

    • @X3AmySarah

      Seems like they arrested him just to appease the public and he’s the scapegoat. I dont think he did it and they needed someone in custody, which is so gross

      @@NWI_Steel Do you normally spend 2 years in solitary confinement? I'm surprised he didn't confess to being the Easter bunny. Solitary is torture. One of the reasons torture isn't used in questioning (beside it being abhorrent) is that people will say anything to make it end, including things they just made up. They'll keep telling you different things until they hit on whatever it is you want to hear. In any case, there is a wealth of material out there on false confessions you should acquaint yourself with.

    • @NWI_Steel
      @NWI_Steel 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Libbathegreat oh I've seen plenty of false confessions on dateline during interrogations. Key word being during interrogations. Richard confessed to his wife on the phone. That was not coerced whatsoever, that was on his own accord

    • @Libbathegreat
      @Libbathegreat 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@NWI_Steel The prison's own counselor said Allen was in full mental collapse and delusional. Again, after being in solitary for an extended period of time, that is no surprise. In fact I think it is very intentional. They had nothing on this guy that they could hang their hat on, so they put him in prison rather than jail (highly unusual for someone who hasn't been convicted of anything) in hopes they could sweat him out, and they succeeded. I can promise you would not have held up any better.

    39:01 "that's how much interest there is in this case" ....i mean people are having to line up 12 hours ahead because that's the only way to bring SOME transparency for a matter that is appropriately of high public interest....some MONSTER of a person heinously took out the most innocent of victims and there are huge questions of integrity and whether there will ever be justice. I don't understand the judge's moves here...and her audacity to be upset that folks are falling asleep. I'm sure they'd rather be home watching on court tv not camping out overnight and having to stay up through technically dense testimony

    Please 13 WTHR we are requesting you do an interview with Kathy and Liggett
    "Kathy and Tony - Heroes"
    Kathy Shank, a former DPS worker who began her career in 1971 as a receptionist, has achieved something extraordinary. She claims to have found a critical tip in the Delphi case among a box of tips. Given her likely age, possibly in her 70s, her involvement is nothing short of remarkable. Together with Sheriff Tony Liggett, they brought resolution to what was once considered Indiana's largest unsolved murder case-the Delphi Murders. Yet, where are the accolades? Where are the parties in honor of these heroes? Why hasn’t the media, including outlets like Dateline, celebrated their monumental achievement?
    The public is asking for a statement from Sheriff Liggett and Kathy Shank, sharing their thoughts and feelings after solving a case of this magnitude. They deserve recognition for their role in changing history. Their determination and effort, amidst a case involving the FBI, CIA, ATF, ISP, and approximately 25 other state and federal agencies, are truly astounding. Despite the use of advanced systems like Orion and the involvement of unified command, it was Kathy, with her diligence, who discovered the tip-not on a computer but in a physical box.
    How did a 70-year-old woman accomplish what some of the most advanced investigative systems and skilled professionals couldn’t? Is Kathy Shank magic? This question isn’t meant to belittle her work but rather to highlight just how incredible her contribution is. It’s difficult to imagine the level of determination it took to sift through that box and uncover a tip that would ultimately crack the case.
    The public believes that Kathy Shank and Sheriff Liggett should receive the recognition-and even the reward money-they deserve. We are calling for public acknowledgment and speeches from these heroes. Kathy and Tony, even if you are humble and shy, you have changed history. You are both heroes, and we want to hear your story.
    Please, step forward and share how you did it. Let the world celebrate your achievement.
