  • How To Change Honda CB750 Wheels - Front & Rear | Avon Roadmaster Tyres For Motorcycle | Part 20
In this Honda CB750 motorcycle project episode, I remove the front and rear wheels so that I can get new Avon Roadmaster tyres fitted. I am building this bike to be a road-going runner, not a full restoration so I was keen to get some fresh rubber on the old spoked wheels in preparation for its first ride.

Frequently I buy part used tyres for my project bikes. They usually come from a country where they have to be changed for their equivalent of the UK annual MOT test so it's rare that they are anywhere near the end of their lifespan.
I always look to buy ones that are only a few years old. The manufacturers of tyres seem to say that they only last 10 years. I am not quite convinced of this unless we're talking about high-performance bikes, but I do take it into account when I am looking.
This time all of the tires I could find seemed to be at least 15 years old. You can tell from the DOT number on them which gives the week and year of manufacture. So I decided to push the boat out and get new. And while I was at it, get what is considered a decent pair :)
I decided to buy Avon Roadmaster Mk11s. These have a nice tread pattern, good rubber, good reputation, and they are British! My local bike shop will supply these with free fitting, so rather than do them myself I decided to get them from there this time. They are cheaper online, and I have put a link to them, but the convenience won the day for me.
It all went pretty trouble-free, but I spotted a couple of other problems I will need to address. The main one being the swingarm bushes, so watch out for my video on them.

Nice to see your progress on the 750! I like the small frame jack! I’ve got my 98 750 cafe racer on the road. Lots of fun!! Take care!

You won’t be disappointed, I have AvonRoadRider on my 68 T100T Daytona and it handles like a dream, just wish I fitted them to my 76 Honda 400 four instead of the Dunlops K82, they look period for the bike and handle ok, but not has good as the RoadRider. Cheers from a Yorkshire man. ⚙️🔩🔧👍

Look like Avon Roadriders to me, will be fitting a pair of these next year to my 1980 Kawasaki Z500, also need to replace the 25 year old inner tubes too. How times fly. Good content, enjoy you content, ta. Regards from sunny Co Durham

I've been really enjoying your videos! I'm just getting ready to start building a workshop for myself and I'd love to see more of yours, for inspiration - can you do a workshop tour video?

On the electric impact drive is there a torque setting that you use for tightening nuts. Or is there just technique for gauging when to release the trigger. What make is yours? Although I guess for my limited use it will be a Chinese cheapo copy, probably off EBay. Could be a birthday present suggestion for my other half, beats pants, socks and aftershave😊

I just got a pair of Avon Roadriders for my 75 CB750. I'll be attempting to put them on myself sometime this weekend. This will be my first time trying a tire change. Seems like a bit of a pain in the butt without a tire changing machine. What sizes do you go with? I did a slightly bigger than stock 120/90-18 on the rear and 100/90-19 on the front.
