  • In this 2nd video of the series on a 1974 Honda CB550, we take a look at the process of removing the rear wheel, cleaning rear wheel, cleaning and inspecting rear brake drum, mounting new tube and tire, as well as cleaning the main drive chain.

    What about lining up the coloured dot with the valve to balance it?

    Should have put some air in the tube before installing it on the rim

    Probably a silly question, but would it be easier to put the tube inside the tire before cramming it onto the rim? Or would it make it harder to get the tire on

      It’s a good idea, but unfortunately it won’t work like that. It’s tough to explain why, basically it would likely cause a puncture in the tube, the valve stem won’t be where you need it, and it’s not really big enough. The tube goes in like a tight rubber band around the hoop, not all loose.
