    This video series features the complete restoration of a 1972 CL350 Honda Scrambler motorcycle. The videos should help anyone whether working on a cafe racer build or a full-on original restoration. I'm definitely not an expert so please refer to your manuals for proper disassembly and assembly instructions. Please leave comments if you have any questions. I'll be happy to help answer questions if I can confidently provide solutions. Again, I'm not a professional. This is my 2nd Honda motorcycle restoration and I'm learning every single day. I'd love to hear your tips if you have better ways to do things. I hope you find the series useful and entertaining. I strive to show as much detail as possible so that the videos can be used as not only a how-to resource but also a reference for the placement and original set up of parts and systems.
    If you don't have one already please get a manual for your specific project. There are many available online for download for free.
    Common Motor Collective, from which I source many of my replacement parts, has a fantastic resource on their website: bit.ly/CBManuals
    You can also join groups on Facebook and get involved in the community.
    Keep on wrenching, Friends!

    I just bought a 71 CB350 this week that needs tlc. First motorcycle for me in 50 years. Your videos are both very informative and therapeutic; I'm in a classroom again! Amazed by how thoroughly you video document every detail of what you're doing. Great work!!

    Thank you. It really helped me figure out how to install the 'towbar' of the rear drum brake on the drum. My NX125 trail has a similar setup but the previous owner installed the tow bar incorrectly (fixed tight). It should be able to sway a little, with the rear arm/suspension. Thnx again.

    Loving your channel. I bought my first motorcycle about 3 years ago at age 46. I wanted something old that I could learn to do the maintenance on, so I picked up a 1975 Honda CB750 I stumbled across on Ebay It's become a bit of an addiction. I've made a few of upgrades and done a bunch of maintenance...some of it I probably didn't need to do for another 5 or 10 thousand mile .but I wanted to learn. I don't think I would have attempted half of this stuff without TH-cam videos walking me through the process first. I haven't gotten into it as deep as you have with the full tear downs. Not yet anyway. I just picked up a 64 Triumph 650 a couple months ago. I'm enjoying learning how to work on that one as well.

    Yessuh!! Diggin' seeing it on wheels! I feel like the kids in "Twas the Night Before Christmas": ...while visions of sugarplums danced in their heads...", i.e., I'm envisioning myself doing exactly what you're doing as I progress through the build of my own CB350. Thanks, Brian!

    So good video, but the hard part is showing how to get the chain on. The trick to it is to put the chain on before putting the axel through. You need to block up the tire so that it aligns with the holes perfectly I use a couple blocks of wood. Then once in place I push the axel bolt through. If you put the axel in 1st you will not have enough slack to get the chain on.

      I’ve never had an issue with too little slack. Just have the adjusters all the way out. I suppose it depends. Thanks for the comment. Good feedback.

    I think your lock is backwards, I think it's supposed to fit on the brake bar, also they make gel type lock tight

    • @KeepOnWrenching
      @KeepOnWrenching  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ll take a look at the book again to make sure. LockTite is expensive. Good lord.Thanks!

      The locking tab, D Tongued Washer to be precise, is in-fact installed backwards in your video.

    hello the 2 wheel spacer have the same size on both sides ?

  • @benjaminroot3093
    @benjaminroot3093 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    So, on your disassembly video, you show that washer being on the inside of the frame stay, between the frame and the inside of the tensioner. Here though, you assemble it on the outside, of the outside, of the tensioner (next to the castle nut). Hmmm

    That stiff arm for the brake backing plate You don't need Loctite on the bolt, there is supposed to be a cotter pin that goes through a hole in the bolt

    • @KeepOnWrenching
      @KeepOnWrenching  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did put the pin in there. I’m addicted to locktite.
