    Great video and exercise set. I have suffered from chronic neck issues all my life due to being blind in one eye and holding my head slightly off centre to compensate for lack of sight (my C2 likes to rotate). I have learnt to manage my neck as best I can but I have struggled to find an exercise programme where I can monitor what my neck and shoulders are doing without having someone watching me. Being against the wall and floor in this workout gives me the sensory feedback and support I need so keep my neck and shoulders relaxed and in alignment. I also really appreciate the reminders to relax the shoulders.

    I have a lower back injury, it’s over 20 years old, and recently it’s hurt so bad that it impacts the way I walk until my back lose a up. Bridges are really hard at the top because the pain makes me
    Feel as if I’m not strong enough to push it. These were great movements as I had the wall to stabilize me and I was able to do movements that have caused me pain for years. ALSO: I normally turn the volume off when I do video workouts … but something about you, I kept it on the whole time I felt like I was in a class with a friend.

    Thank you so much! I've been struggling with long-covid since a year, not being able to even walk more than 10 minutes. Now things are getting a little bit better but I still can't do everything I was used to do before. Exercising is really really hard for people with this disease and we have to be really careful to not over do anything as it will increase the symptoms and erase all progress. With you wall exercices, I can move, using the wall as a support, and adjust the intensity according to my limits. I sure hope I'll be able to get back to my previous body health!

Be proud of yourself and thank you for sharing your experience xx 😘

      @PilateswithDonnaFinnie  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good Morning … thank you 😊! Always listen to your body. Generally 8-12 reps. If you are feeling strong and energised you could do more however the most important thing is to focus on control and connection, find stability in your core as you move. It is of more value to do 6 reps correctly than 12 reps without the stability x x
      I’d repeat this a couple of times a week and layer in 1 or two or my other workouts for variety and to challenge your body in a different ways x
      Enjoy 😉 xx

    I am old enough that when I was a teen, I followed young Jane Fonda’s workout (I had her book and I think video). In retrospect, it seems like she was doing (non-wall) Pilates (a word I never heard of), but faster. Are you familiar with those old exercise routines? (I know you aren’t anywhere near that old!) if so, is that how you would describe Fonda’s routine? Is the Pilates that you are demonstrating normally done at a fast(er) pace? Thank you for taking such care in explaining how to do this.

    • @PilateswithDonnaFinnie
      @PilateswithDonnaFinnie  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good Morning … I really appreciate your kind words and taking the time to get in touch. Wow have you seen Jane Fonda recently she is looking amazing, she has aged with grace and radiates the benefits of exercise and taking care of yourself.
      Pilates isn’t about speed and that’s one of the reasons I love it. The magic happens in finding connection with your mind & body. We move with control creating stability in our centre & when done correctly it is challenging 😅. You can feel the ‘work’ as I am sure you are aware doing my workouts. Thank you once again for your kind words. I look forward to seeing you on your mat again soon xx 😘

    I really enjoy the wall pilates, I am currently experiencing movement challenges and find using the wall really helps me maintain proper alignment, I would you consider a multi day wall pilates series/challenge?

    I get excited when I see a video for a 30 min workout. Unfortunately it’s so slow that there’s probably only 20 min of work.

      Thank you for your feedback . You can work at your own pace, maybe add more reps. Speed doesn’t necessarily mean more work … slow and controlled can be so challenging x x

    Donna how do you keep your body so ripped? Are there any other exercises you do outside of Pilates?

      Hi 👋…. I love pilates and have found that through this amazing method my body shape has changed. I also enjoy running 1-2 times a week, 5km distance and weights again 1-2 times a week x
      As we age our bodies really benefit from body weight exercises such as Pilates and weight training to aid bone density. I’m a great advocate of …. strong body = strong mind x

      Hi Karla , I am loving your enthusiasm 💯♥️. I would suggest mixing things up weekly … do this video and 2-3 of my other workouts and you’ll really start to feel a change in your body and the way your mind and body connect. Pilates will give you more awareness of how you move and that will feed into your daily life in a positive way x
      Enjoy 😉😘 xx

    First time doing pilates and loving it. I wanted to diversify my workouts so in addition to my weights training this is perfect. But i have a question, how many reps should we do?

    • @PilateswithDonnaFinnie
      @PilateswithDonnaFinnie  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wonderful! So good to hear you are living Pilates x
      Always listen to your body, do as many reps as you feel able to whilst maintaining good form. Think about the placement of your hips, connecting with your core, engaging your pelvic floor. Enjoy moving and listen to what your body is saying. It’s might be interesting to discover you can do more reps on one side. We all tend to have a stronger side , maybe try and work on o creasing reps on the weaker side x x
      Have fun 🤩

      The more we move the more calories we burn, the greater our muscle mass the more calories we burn. Our bodies love to move and I think when we move with more confidence and feel stronger in our bodies that will also encourage us to make healthy food choices x

    I am 13 year old who wants to lose weight. How much weight can I lose by doing this particular workout every day for a month?

    • @PilateswithDonnaFinnie
      @PilateswithDonnaFinnie  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for joining me. I think the most important thing is to find a way of exercising that you really enjoy and can be consistent with. The more we enjoy moving our bodies, the stronger and more flexible we feel & the more comfortable we become in our own skin. Movement is key to a healthy life style, focus on getting around 8-10k of steps everyday, preferably outdoors, making healthy food choices, staying hydrated and plenty of sleep. Weight loss is achieved through a combination of the above but a greater goal might be to build a stronger body and the rest will begin to fall into place for you. Have fun 🤩

      Hi Kathleen, great to hear from you x
      Always listen to your body and if the movement and exercises feel good ( they may also feel challenging 😉) enjoy the process. I am 52 and my personal goal is to not be limited by my age , I know how my body feels and try to listen to what my body is saying. Our bodies love movement ❤️. As long as you don’t have any medical conditions that may prevent you from participating, go for it x

    How many reps of each one?

    • @PilateswithDonnaFinnie
      @PilateswithDonnaFinnie  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Liz … great to hear from you . Always listen to your body. You know how each exercise feels for you , what energy levels you have and what other activities you may have done. If you are feeling tired rest & then try and do a few more reps. If you’ve lots of energy and you feel strong , just go for it ! Count how many reps you can manage on each side, we are generally stronger on one side compared with the other. Mentally record your reps and if you keep repeating this workout and the number of reps go up, you’ll know you are building strength and stamina x

      Hi … thank you for your comment.
      Pilates is for everyone & that’s one of the reasons I love it so much. Regardless of age, gender, size , ability there are Pilates movements and exercises that will work for everyone. We all just need to find a way of exercise that works for us as individuals that we can enjoy and sustain x
