    Anyone who's getting the OLED version, I suggest you to have your sunglasses nearby. The factory setting of the laptop's brightness is 100% and I almost turned myself blind. The 50% is equivalent to 100% of matte fhd's brightness.

      @Kamal Kristipati yeahh macbooks that overheat, are un-customizable, are 3* the price of an xps and stop functioning when bits of dust get in the keyboard - fantastic product! Could get a brand spanking new XPS every 2 years for the same price as a macbook - will you be using the macbook for 6 years in a row?

      The only thing I'm still on the fence about is whether to get the 4k Oled or or the 4k UHD touch. I'm concerned about any potential burn-in and bummed out that the OLED is not touch screen, but I want the best looking screen.

    • @chriscamm
      @chriscamm 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ajedi5654 I think the 4K UHD touch would be a better option, because you don't need to worry about the burn in and you get touch functionality and it's still an amazing looking screen. Just because the OLED might have those popping colors doesn't mean the touch option isn't good - Before the OLED was even introduced, the XPS was still praised for having one of the best displays on the market. Really there's nowhere to go wrong - but it seems like you'd benefit more by skipping out on the OLED this time

    Watching this from my xps 15 7590! Here's a couple thoughts:
    -If you want to game on it, buy the FHD. It improves performance tenfold and you may think you need OLED or touch, but you reallllly don't and it will just cause problems with your gaming experience.
    -The 7590 handles heating and cooling 10x better than the 9750. I would honestly buy the 7590 exclusively for that reason.
    -If you do any video conferencing regularly like me, the 7590's camera movement is worth it.
    -I HIGHLY recommend this laptop-- haven't run into any issues (and I mean ANY) after several weeks of usage.

Do you have to undervolt and repaste Dell 9570 for it to cool properly for good performance? I am not very good with tech (coming from MacBook) so want to keep it simple. In fact compared to the 9570, it was still cheaper. so that was a no brainier decision to get it. two days later they fixed the price higher but i already got mine cheaper lol

    What you are saying about Apple ripping off everybody equally is absolutely not true for Europe. Apple products are FAR more expensive in the EU than in the US, whereas Dell products are only slightly more expensive in the EU. Very strange that this is apparently the other way around in Australia. It's even stranger given that Apple's international headquarters is officially in the EU (in Ireland so they can avoid corporate tax).

    • @RoderikR
      @RoderikR 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TallyHoTech The price difference of Apple products between the US and the EU is far bigger than what can be explained by tax. Dell products (or any other manufacturer than Apple for that matter) are only slightly more expensive in the EU. That's about the difference you would expect based on tax. For example, a 15 inch MacBook Pro with 512 GB of Ram is 2800 US dollars in the US, but 3300 euro in the EU, which is 3800 dollars. The Dell XPS 15 with i7 and OLED is 1950 dollars in the US and 1999 euro in the EU, which is about 2250 dollars. So a 1000 dollar price difference for Apple and a 300 dollar price difference for Dell. The 300 can mostly be explained by tax differences between the EU and the US, the 1000 dollar cannot.

    Great video. Been hanging out for any sort of practical review / advice for this model.
    I've had an Inspiron 15 inch since 2013 and this laptop has served me extremely well. It's still going strong, but I'm badly due an upgrade and have been tossing up between all the new models of Dell since I've been out of the scene for ages. From my research and goals, I'm currently leaning towards the New XPS 15 7590-04 over the latest 15-inch new models of the G3 and G7. Seems the marginal trade-off for a slightly less powerful graphics card (not RTX?) is made up tenfold by the amazing battery of the New XPS.
    The main game I play is League Of Legends (will I pick up anything over 60fps? - from your video, it seems like no) and the occasional Steam midrange game (think things in line with Arkham City). I love youtube and having like 20+ tabs open, and streaming, and alt+tabbing in between my browser and league. On rare occasion I do use my laptop for modelling such as Fire Dynamics Simulator / Pyrosim but these aren't overly intensive programs anyway. However, I do plan to create music in the near future. Given this intended usage I'm hoping I'll still maintain fairly solid battery times and performance (i.e. no frame drops whilst playing LoL).
    At this time, I'm looking at the i7-9750H model with the 16GB of RAM, and the only configuration available to me for the i7 seems to be 512GB SSD. I wish it offered 1TB SSD, or a combination SSD with the standard harddrive. What are your thoughts regarding the Solid State Drive. Any issues booting or writing? I've not owned any products with this feature and I've read so many conflicting reviews. I'm thinking some people are overly picking on speeds.
    I don't want any noisy fans (hoping this isn't an issue given that I'm not running anywhere near the top of the range games) or bulky laptops (hence why I'm heavily leaning towards the XPS over the New G7 15). The bezels on the New G3 and G7 seem ridiculous to me so the XPS looks alot sleeker in comparison.
    Judging by the other answered comments on this video, it seems this model should cater to my needs sufficiently. Would you agree?

    • @TallyHoTech
      @TallyHoTech  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This will be the perfect laptop for you. LoL is not too demanding and it will play that no problems.

    Is the xps 15 good enough for gaming at medium settings 60fps? I want this laptop for good battery, screen and work but also would love to game such as Dark souls 3, Monster hunter world, Nioh and Sekiro.

      It should be good for games with medium graphics for new games. Older games should hit 60 FPS in high/epic graphics no problem
