    3 issues
1- couldn't you clean the laptop?
2- Why bother letting us listen to the fans if you're gonna put music over it????
3- You should have compared an i7 with an i7, not an i9

Why didn't you compare it to a 7590 that had the i7 9th gen processor? Seems that would be a more even comparison as the i9 processor is more expensive, and it's throttling issues have been already well documented.

Nice comparison...I have the older Dell XPS 15 (9560)...but only has 16GB of DDR4 Ram and lately with all the video editing I'm doing (in Premiere Pro) I think it's time for an upgrade. Also, with all these new Adobe Apps being released (i.e. 2020 versions) my hard drive is getting bogged down with only 512GB SSD. Seriously, considering buying the 7590 with 32GB DDR and 2TB hard drive..I really need the extra storage space. I'll sleep on it but unfortunately...I think it's time for an upgrade. Bought my older 9560 back in Nov. 2017...not a bad run I guess....

That is the SAME model I just retired to my wife (also a content creator and video editor). I now use a ConceptD3 Pro - geni.us/AcerConceptD3Pro - as my daily laptop. I actually just picked it up a few days ago. On my 9560 I noticed those same things. Premiere Pro was starting to crash on me with big 4k video edits, which was annoying. But overall still a great laptop for PS, ID, and AI.
Looking forward to hearing what you decide to do as you move forward.

how do you think whether buying second hand 9560 with exact same specs as yours is worth for a price of ~830$ (~700 euro) for student who works with data, word, and occasionally plays games. I'm planning to upgrade from Macbook air 2015. Is it still worth it or better to look at hp envy x360 with ryzen 5 2020 models which are new and have higher price?

As major of a difference that the WiFi card makes between models, I was wondering if with owning the order model that you have looked into wifi component upgrade that can be purchased and create a similar result to the newer model's signal strength? That can possibly be great video comparison for the future, I think. Thanks

To this day y daily laptop is the Dell XPS 15 9560 for editing 1080p. I don't shoot in 4k, because for TH-cam it is unecessary for me. I use Premiere Pro and Photoshop on the daily.
I think it is still a good buy. I would go for this model. It has a generation newer processor than mine and it is nearly the same price. - amzn.to/2SAgBNU
If that is still too pricey then you can get a model with 16GB of RAM.

Great video, really good job explaining everything!
I hope I can get your opinion however, I want to get an XPS 15 2 in 1 (core 7, 16 GB) my use it for office work but I want the convertible feature for personal use too. Do you recommend these specs? And do you recommend buying the one available or waiting for a possible new release of the 15 2 in 1? I hear current models are facing issues and have many flaws in design (speakers, camera..)?

    • @BenGKaiser
      @BenGKaiser  4 ปีที่แล้ว

For an office use case this laptop will perform very well. I will say that you are right. The Webcam points up your nose and the speakers are not that great, but other than that it is a great laptop!
I don't know if the new updates reflected in the non 2-in-1 version (better speakers and the webcam on the top bezel of the screen) will make it to the 2-in-1, only time will tell. So if you can wait, then it may be worth it.

    • @BenGKaiser

What dell laptops are comparable to these two laptops (battery life, price & performance) that comes with a numeric keypad? If not on a Dell, then what other brand would be a good pick?

Ben you never mentioned a word about user experience while video editing for example:, render, playback, dropped frames, scrubbing, number of programs, multi tasking, computer load to name a few. This is where the 7590 or i9 is much grater then the early versions xps. its an 8 core cpu! he show a the bench mark stats here, the problem with this is & other people is what are your computer settings or navidia settings to get these numbers theres a ton of them!!!!

The Dell XPS is fantastic, but if if you are looking at around $1000 then I would consider the ConceptD 3 with an i5 processor. It is the H series processor putting it nearly on the same level at the i7-8750H processor in the benchmark tests. The ConceptD 3 is also 100% color accurate and has a SOLID gpu.
Here is the one I would recommend - geni.us/ConceptD3-i5
