Pretty cool tutorial. That first overhead umbrella lookedd pretty cool. I use overhead all the time but your method looked better for some reason and it totally inspires me to test it out myself.
A joy to watch the thoughtful use of your experience about lighting. The "magic" happens - sometimes by accident - but more likely if you know what look you're after. Thank you Lindsay. Btw: would be an idea for a future video to talk about accidents - positives and negatives.
Thanks Lindsay, loved the first setup so much!! Is that an Issey Miyake piece Rose is wearing? It strikes me as one but I wasn't able to track it down. Could you point me to where to find that dress, please? It is gorgeous.
Excellent video, thank you. I already have several umbrellas, cheaper ones to be sure. So, is there someplace where I can buy diffusion material for the specific sizes I have, without having to buy a complete setup?
Will definitely get your Umbrella Guide. Use of the collapsed umbrella is really interesting. Not only are umbrellas cheaper but they pack down so small compared to soft boxes ❤️
What's the point of using these in the studio rather than soft boxes? The only advantages of umbrellas is portability and cost, neither of which applies here. I'd rather have seen you use $20 basic umbrellas, personally, not everyone has $200 umbrellas and boom arms
Lindsay does it again! Just when you think “what else can we do?” Lindsay brings the heat…or in this case…makes it cool.
One of the benefits of teaching is that I have to keep 'reinventing' myself and learning new things.
Amazing job Lindsay!!! Your ability to master light is impressive and a constant source of inspiration 🥰

Love the setups and explanations. Beautiful work as always.
Stunning, Lindsay. And, as always, such a great step-by-step breakdown. Cheers, Charles
Light Queen! Thank you Lindsay!
So good and inspiring!!
Amazing video Lindsay. The shoot looks just unbelievable!!.
Watching GENIUS…at work. Incredible portfolio. Love this video and the results. Per usual.🎉
awwwwww. you are so sweet.
i never thought of narrowing the umbrella down 😮 thank you!
the B&W images are absolutely stunning ! - great video altogether
Love this video.Outfit #1 and #3 are real killers. Wow. Thanks.
Right! stylist did a wonderful job
Great class, great for specials projects or personal work. Thanks.
Fabulous, very interesting. Thank you.
I'm just in awe! I want to try all of them! For the second one, would the closed umbrella create a problem with heat?
As long as it doesn't close down so that the edges are actually touching the flash head or the modeling light, you are fine!
i loved every single second of this video
Awww thank you.
Amazing as usually!!!
Great Video!!
I really love Lindsey Adler...she is amazing!
Fab video loving your styling 👌
Thank you for this and thank you for introducing me to the work of Victor Skrebneski.
My pleasure. My significant other first introduced me to his work... some really timeless pieces there.

Will get something in the mail. Will do testing on myself and do other photography. Thanks for jewelry examples.
Best of luck with the testing and the photography ✨ Glad the jewelry examples were helpful. We are looking forward to seeing what you have created!
Hope next year workshop is a great success and great work on filming this episode. Take care.
Wow! Thank you for this video!
Thank you Lindsay!
Thank you very much for that Video. ❤
Phenomenal lesson. Thank you Lindsey. Where can I purchase the dresses?
You would have to ask my wardrobe stylist-- The cannon media group
The model has a stunning facial structure
she is so inspiring!
@lindsayadlerphoto and you as well. Really love your work
Always fun watching how Lindsay creates light!! Thank you!!!
Couldn’t agree more ❤
好棒的解說!謝謝!

I wish... it isn't but I still LOVE it. You can ask The Cannon Media Group (stylist) for the link!
Amazing!
Amazing light set up.
Thank You so much.
Very informative and great use of lighting
La mejor

🔥
Very cool video. Thanks. Could you have used a grid on the front of the diffusion instead of closing down the umbrella to produce a similar effect?
Most systems don't have a grid for it, but yes it definitely would help!
I really liked this shoot. Wondering what the number on the gel's were.... I wish my studio had higher ceilings....
I usually use Rosco Creative Effects kit !
as usual amazing content! Lindsay, where can I get this dress in set up number 1?
If we are voting then mark my votes for those first images with the flowing dress in black and white.
Are the strobes flashing ?
Why are the shadows on the subject
not getting harder, when you close
the umbrella? Isn't the light getting
much smaller by that?
I'll have to go back and look -- its probably is a bit.
Great Video. Thank you. But.. 5 Profoto D3s 😮 I have to sell my car.
same.. .legit worth more than my current car. I only spend money on my gear hahahaha.

Or... you can just use the cheap umbrellas yourself-- whatever makes you happy.
