They have like 4 people backstage doing backing vocals(and some of them also wrote the song). When they are doing their winning performance, you can see them coming out on stage.

I love that Sweden has a Eurovision Song Contest, to enter the Eurovision Song Contest! Large arena, thousands of people, huge production value, EBU fans from all over coming to witness it! Just brilliant

The most strange thing about national selections is the fact that Italians select their entry through the Sanremo festival while the Eurovision Song Contest was inspired from the Sanremo festival!
Its all financed by tax payers, thats why. Every swede has to pay public service tax to make this happen.

Melodifestivalen always has excellent sound production during the live shows, you can compare any song from the Swedish competition with live recordings from other countries, and any Swedish song is gonna sound better than most recordings from elsewhere.

I don´t think I ever has been so disappointed after Melodifestivalen as I was in 2009. It was just such a travesty, people were like "Let´s send something different that will stand out!". Yea, 0 p from most countries and a 21st place. Not a surprise.
I was rooting for Sarah Dawn Finer with "Moving On", or Måns with "Hope & Glory". Agnes and Alcazar was also great that year. They would have done so much better that that ridiculus joke opera entry.
The song is so different and original ! It isnt one person playing a piano or singing a ballad- it's about 3 strong women empowering and electrifying the arena ! Deffo a winner

It must be quite confusing as an American. To understand it one must understand Eurovision, and the Swedish selection show Melodifestivalen, I think. Melodifestivalen goes on for weeks, it´s a tour, and people get very attached to certain artists and songs, think of it as fans of different sports team, and then the day after the big game, there are a lot of disappointed fans. Especially when it was a very even game, The Mamas won with 1 p over Dotter. So it´s like if you´re rooting for a team, in say basket ball, and you think they´re going to win the most important game of the year, and then in the last second the other team scores. That leaves a lot of really disappointed Dotter fans, a lot of them very young, that are frustrated and bitter, and they then dislike the winning team. That´s the first part of it.
Then it´s Eurovision. 41 countries battling it out. A lot of national pride and people wanting their song to be the winner, or at least in the top 20, top 10 or top 5. So then there are some who go around and dislike and troll on all the other countries comment section, trying to take them down, and make people dislike those more than they dislike their countries entry. The countries that is percieved as the most threats often get the most of it. Sweden has been quite successful for the last decades, with 2 wins, and a lot of good placements, which annoys some people, so whatever Sweden sends, there will always be haters.
In addition there is of course the usual trolls, who will critizise and bully people for their looks,their skin color, their gender, their weight, their nationalites and so on.
That´s about it. Sorry for the essay....
TL;DR It´s a part of a big game, and there are a lot of frustrated fans of the losing entries.

This is why I choose not to follow selections, everyone gets agressive when their favorite doesn't win, it makes you not see the potential of the winner and keep overjudging them, seriously this is soo good, 3 amazing professional singers giving some happy and positive vibes, come on ! Stop being salty and appreciate this beautiful performance.

This is one of my favourite Eurovision entries from Sweden. So good amd such pity that it was canceled! They should have done a virtual one😢
may I just add that the costume designer did a really good job here.
It's official that the mamas got the most votes in the melfest finals. The mamas got 1610446 votes and Dotter got 1489636 votes. Can this whole drama be over now so we can appreciate these two masterpieces.

If Eurovision 2020 happened, I have a strong feeling this might've been Sweden's 7th win. With Loreen 3 years later, I wouldn't be surprised to see an 8th win on the table! Sweden doesn't just play in Eurovision, they make history!
