This is how a modern pop ballad is made: also bringing some electro beat and a Bonnie Tyler like voice. This is the best ballad of the year by far, well done, Sweden!! 😱😱
I would say it's closer to Sia
@@mondaygarbuz Yep, good point as well, but of course Ukraine had to win...
It’s more Kim Carnes than Bonnie Tyler
Mix Cindy lauper and bonnie tyler
Bonnie Tyler exactly! Full 80's spirit! I love it!!
Her voice, those strings. Someone really arranged those strings to just rip your heart out. Wonderful song and performance.
Yep. The whole instrumentation here is perfect.
Someone being Cornelia herself and her current bf David
Still one of the most impressive Eurovision performances I have ever watched. Easily my favourite Eurovision song ever
when shes belting her heart out around 2:54 i get goosebumps every single time. so good
VRAIMENT ELLE A TOUT DONNER. ELLE AURAIT MÉRITER DE GAGNER
You should have won. The best song and best singer. If Eurovision were the musical competition you would win for sure... Regards from Poland.
In my opinion, your song from Poland was as good as the one from Sweden. You should both be very proud :-) ! Greetings from Norway 🇳🇴
Poland top 10, sweden got too many points IMO. Romania should have gotten a lot more along with Moldova. also -Give that wolf a banana before that wolf, eats my grandma
This year, Ukraine had to win. An important message to Putin. I'm from Sweden and I don't like the Ukraine song, but it doesn't matter this year. Ukraine in our hearts = Ukraina i våra hjärtan.
@@semipalatinsk1 jag vet...men är det inte en musik tävling?
@@amelieswedishgirl13
Nej. Inte i år. Låten var obegriplig, en rap, men budskapet till Ryssland är vad som räknas nu.
Swedish performers are usually among the top performers of Eurovision.
I consider this song a winner, I would love to hear it on the radio. I think more viewers of this contest feel the same way. I believe that the performer will be noticed by managers of private music stations in Western Europe, USA and Australia.
She is already long forgotten!!!!
@@seandomhnallosullivan2544 The S countries😁😁 All were great, but Sweden and Serbia were my one and two, Ukraine third. Also just realised the other two in top5 were U countries - sus?🤔😄
The difference at 2:56 is just amazing - she carried it soooo well. I wish this had won!
Everything about this is flawless, especially that 2:56 variation - it gives me so much serotonin 🥹🤍
I was really surprised, and now I put in loop this part 2:55
Pointing at her head and heart when she sings (1:50):
“OH IT KILLS ME,
I found a right one at the wrong time”, gives me goosebumps.
Yes, i just see the same ☺️💔
One of the mot beautiful eurovision songs of all times.. is on my top 5. I watch eurovision since 1996 ❤
It sounds like a lullaby
From Canada and have seen a musical number here and there from Eurovision in the past but this was my first time checking out all of them. There were a couple I'll listen to again but this is BY FAR my favourite. The song, the vocals, the staging, camera shots, everything was incredible and I've watched this video many, many times already.
❤❤❤
Unique elegance and refinement👏👏

Go Sweden🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
🌹
I'm always going to remember the face of my mom when she saw Sweden, she was so sure Spain was gonna win but after that last high note she said "That's it, she's the winner, Sweden is the winner", and after Ukraine won she was so mad because she really thought it was gonna be between Spain and Sweden... They were so robbed. Yes, two months later and I still can't get over it.
Your mom has great taste!
the best song for sure ! my favorite in all ESC histoty
UK
Spain
Sweden
The real top 3. Ukraine doesn't count.
I was sure too will be between Spain and Sweden, what a great 1st and 2nd could be...but that's it, this year was not like others and we all know why😐🙄
And one of the two really should have won ...
Its almost 3 years but i still listen to this masterpiece
This, for me, was the best performance of the night. You just gained a fan here in Brazil, Cornelia Jakobs. 🇧🇷❤🇸🇪
Thats far away 😅
Glad you also watch
Me as a swede and a eurovisionfan watching the finally from brasil am very happy to hear support from brasil. Many brasilian watching esc?
@@lajnajkalasdill1059 From what I saw on Twitter, there were a few more Brazilians who also watched. Me for example, it's the first time I watched Eurovision. Really enjoyed!
@@lajnajkalasdill1059 me too. Brazilian and Cornelia's Team! The best song!
One more from Ukraine😁
Goosebumps. She didn't won Eurovision, but my heart. Tack Cornelia
Best song of the night. My 12 points from Portugal. Just beautiful 🇵🇹❤️
seen a comment some other time and i couldn’t agree anymore… it said: “right song, wrong year”
she should absolutely have been 1st
That "tonight" in the end was perfect.
Me and my family all agreed that this was the most beautiful song this year. Love from Portugal 🇵🇹🇸🇪
Me and my family toooo❤ Love from Romania 🇹🇩
Sweden is a winner for me. Greetings to Sweden from Poland 🔥🇵🇱🇸🇪🎶
Mi ganadora sin duda. Que suene, que suene mucho...porque es una canción para siempre.
This will always be the uncrowned winner of Eurovision 2022. It is on the same level as Euphoria. Simply a masterpiece. ❤
For me the uncrowned winner is Spain
I'm from Poland, for me it was the best performance of this year's Eurovision. Let's not forget that this is a music competition. Of course, with all my heart with Ukraine, but she was the best for me. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
It's very good but I think the Dutch song was superb and she sang it beautifully.
Pięknie to napisałaś, podpisuję się pod Twoim wpisem w 100% 👍🥂
@@keithbate9405 Everyone has their own tastes so I will not deny it 🙂
Okay Cornelia, you absolutely blew everyone away with that masterpiece. Do your work europe
What the hell do you want us to do?!?!
@@fredrik1984 my guy… maybe vote last night, but in general admire this masterpiece.
I have to say that you HOLD ALL THE WORLD CLOSER when you sing. Love you Cornelia. Congrats to Sweden from Greece!
This is it !
The true winning song.
Greetings from Macedonia 🇲🇰
Cornelia nailed it. Her voice is unreal. 👏 🇸🇪
I just cry every time I see her performing, this song touches so much my heart!! Love you Cornelia, go for the win!! 😭❤️🇸🇪
felt the same. Lots of love and congratulations Cornelia from Greece ❤🇸🇪
Me too is cry to it !
I voted for her, zero regrets. She has won over my heart ever since Melodifestivalen and I am so proud..💚🇸🇪
It says a lot when the live performance is better than the studio version. Absolutely love this song, she will always be my winner ❤️
One of my favourite all-time Eurovision entries. Beautiful lyrics, sentiment and musical composition - an overall stunning performance and a modern day ESC classic. Still listening to this on a regular basis 2 years on and probably will do for a long time to come.
I’ve been waiting so long for a song like this. There’s so many breakup songs about getting rid of a toxic ex and damming them to hell, but rarely any good ones about having to let go of an incredible someone for the better. My heart still aches but this song is making everything just that extra bit better💛
there’s no one that deserves more the crystal trophy than her, she’s amazing 💚
Agreed
Proponuję posłuchać bez uprzedzeń rewelacyjnego głosu i wykonania Krystiana Ochmana z Polski, choć fakt szwedka też przyciąga uwagę.
@@krysgola Poland was brilliant as well!
That note change from the original is just 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍2:56
Agreed was so amazing
She saved this for the finals😍
And the audience response on it as well! Goosebumps deluxe.
Yeah I know!!!!!! That part was just so out of this world!! It gave me chills and broke me😭... She just went better and better with her performances. I love her 💚
So fucking awesome !
This song makes me feel so much... 3 minutes full of raw emotion, pure joy and somehow a feeling of nosalgia
Last year when Maneskin won the Eurovision for about a month straight I used to listen to there song every day I was obsessed . Now I am listening this song every day to like I did with Maneskin I guess this song was my winner this year … I know she didn’t win the Eurovision but she definitely win my time . I spend such a huge time of my day listening to this song
She is magnetic! Her voice is so powerful, profound, spectacularly peculiar!! Since she hit the first note I had goose bumps! One of the best songs I have ever heard so far! She's the winner for me!
Thank you Eurovision 2022 for this amazing song! Hold Me Closer became one of my all time favourites! So emotional and beautiful!
This was the song that should have won the Eurovision song contest
Who should win Eurovision was Portugal that had the best music.
She was incredible, probably the best of all her performances. I was hoping she would do the "GIVE ME THE NIIIIGHT" like she did in her winner performance in Melodifestivalen, AND SHE DID! I got goosebumps❤️I think the winners deserved to win, but to me this sound like a winner song, it's just so powerful! Grattis Cornelia till en fjärde plats, Sverige är så stolta!❤️
@realgabriel gdc Her opinion is valid and so is yours, we all have different taste. But you’re most likely going to have people disagreeing with you since you’re here😊
Yea that almost primal scream was awesome. She made a good delivery: for many of us it was the lyrics, for other the simplicity in the performance. Took me 3 months to like it; then the lyrics hit me
I'm British and although spaceman was great, this is by far my favourite of 2022. Sweden have had 2 great songs 2 years running. Can't wait to see what they produce next year. 11/10.
Yeah it's great, my favourite aswell this year, no doubt. But spaceman was awesome too, I was fine with us losing to that song (Not Spain though, god no), but it was a bad year to participate with great songs.
Spaceman and this was my favorite by far.
Answering in 2023 and It looks like were sending LOREEN again. Can't wait. But hold on to your thumbs since our selection isnt over. Loreen got easily to the finals and has by far the best song in the selection.
Yeah I think sending Loreen again worked pretty well lol😊
This comment aged well 😂
The one. The only. The most beautiful person, song, performance, message, music, everything I’ve ever seen. I love her so much I started crying rn.
June 2024, still one of the best eurovision songs
THIS SONG FOREVER MY WINNER. iam from INDONESIA . And the biggest fan of this Song and new fan for Cornelia
This is a masterpiece, I loved it from the first time I heard it. It was the first program of melodifestivalen and when I heard her and the song I said to my friends, She is going to win melodifestivalen this year. My friends was like No it’s just the first program there is 4 more but I said, remember I said this the day of the final. And she won and my friends was mind blown. I was right all along. My favorite song of all time has been el diablo since last year. And yes I’ve watched eurovision from the 80’s even though im 17. But Cornelia just turned my world upside down. My favorite song of all time and my favorite artist. She is just simply amazing at everything.
The only song from this Eurovision, which stuck in my head.. so good..so melodic..so emotional..and the lyrics..wow..!
I have been watching Eurovision since 2003… this is my favourite entry so far. I absolutely love it
Thanks ❤❤
She may have not won but she still earned Sweden their best result since Mans' win in 2015
But also the highest score for Sweden. She broke Loreen's record
@@ionbalan7425 It was a complety different voting sysyem back then. You can't compare them
you can. She broke loreens record. Different systems don't matter. So what, when Alexander broke anne Marie's record you couldn't compare it? Or when sam ryder broke Katrina and the waves record? 🤔 don't cry about it.
@@nicoledickson6099
Lol, of course the different systems matter. They have *doubled* the number of points that can be awarded. If more points are available it's just dumb to compare them. When you do that you assume that they are competing fairly but they are not.
I don't generally care much for the ESC but I think this song and performance was the best we (Sweden) ever participated with. It's a real shame that she didn't win, she really should have, but I hope that Cornelia is damn proud of her performance.
Euphoria ?
Hey , i'm not Swede but that was really best of the best . you all must be so proud of her!
Yeah agree. Took me it took 3 months, then the lyrics hit me. So its understandable not every viewer voted for it. Who cares really, so many people like it.
Og hvad så hvis den ikke vandt. Sverige er fantastiske til Eurovision, men i mange år - synes jeg - I har valgt kedelige udgaver af det samme. Og så kommer det her. Så fantastisk - denne dansker støtter Sverige igen :)
Wow, this was just so good, especially that final vocal flourish, she got my vote from the UK! Loved seeing Sweden being something raw, my new favourite Swedish entry
She is my winner!!!The best song in 2022.
Still listening to this...even better than the studio version....love her voice!!!!
this is one of the only songs from this year’s eurovision that i still listen to, it was my favourite by far
Halt die fress

She was simply the best! She was robbed of her victory . 12 points from Poland, beautiful lady😍😘
My all time favorite, perfect voice amazing song! I will hold you closer to my heart forever Cornelia you are amazing! Stunning!❤❤❤❤
I’m actually crying
She takes my breath away

Definitely my winner together with SloMo!! Two completely different styles for two completely different situations, and co-winners!!
To be honest, I did not like this song at first. But after I been through a heartbreak I feel every word in this song down to my soul.
