This eBike review is unquestionably the most complete and helpful of any bike review on the web. This is also a tutorial that includes a how-to set up, a how-to fold and un fold the bike, how-to pack folded into a sedan trunk, plus tips and operation suggestions as the reviewer is on the bike. You get the sense of what it’s like to be actually riding! The commentary and quality video merit a special mention and my thanks.

With all this talk about component shortages and shipping delays, thank God I ordered mine back in July and for only $1599. Also, there are 2 versions of this bike, "Throttle on Demand" and "Throttle After Pedal". If you had the On Demand version, you would have made it through that intersection! Excellent video...as always!

I have throttle on demand. They don’t make throttle after pedal anymore. The issue is that I had PAS set to 0, and the throttle is disabled completely at PAS 0 on Aventons.

Thank you for doing the review. Your review is one of the main reasons I purchased the rig. I needed a foldable E-Bike for the back of the Ambulance/Camper I am building. I received my Sinch last week. I have nothing but good things to say about the rig! I know my ownership is in its infancy stage, but I enjoy the Sinch for what it is. I live six- and one-half miles from my work. I wanted an option for work travel on non-summer months (I live in the South, USA). I am six foot tall and 215 (on my way to 185) lbs. I have the seat post up to the minimum line (maximum height), to get proper leg extension, and I barely make it. People above six foot (183 cm) may have a problem with proper leg extension. The handlebars are shorter than average, so the turning radius is sensitive! I will be replacing with a standard handlebar on a future date. The forks bottom out sometimes when I travel on a dirt road near my home, but this is not a huge issue. I upgraded to the color screen (which should have been standard, in my humble opinion) and I was able to go from 20mph to 25 mph. I know there are other options for altering the governor, but I did not want to void the warranty. The screen was fifty bucks. The motor is a beast. I live in a second story home and if you have not started bicep work at the gym. I suggest you start! This rig is beefy. Much health, happiness, peace and blessings everyone. Cheers...

I recently got the Sinch. I love it, and most hills feel the same as riding on flat ground. It has replaced my car 2-3 days a week, as long as it's not raining, but I do have on big complaint: It is HEAVY. I didn't think this would be such an issue, but I find that it can sometimes be difficult to handle because of the weight (notably when doing tight turns and needing to move slowly, and especially when navigating multiple intersections where I have to come to complete stops), but I'm sure as I get used to the bike that'll be easier. I just know that with this bike I can't use hand signals as easily. Otherwise, I love everything about the bike. Especially the way the battery is well hidden, because it lessens the chance that passerby's will know it's an e-bike and try to steal it. I hadn't touched a bike in 18-20 years, and never understood why people would choose a bike over a car in this day and age, but not only does my new commute range anywhere from 10 minutes longer to 5 minutes shorter depending on the time of day (being able to use bike trails and other paths that cars aren't allowed on really beats being stuck in bad traffic) , my commute is more enjoyable and I can actually fit exercise into my day now.
End note: I'm glad you showed yourself putting it in the back of a sedan. It's NOT easy to get in, and it definitely fills the trunk, but I don't have a bike rack and find it to be a nice option, even if it's one I seldom utilize.I hadn't touched a bike in 18-20 years

Unfortunately, after agonizing about doing it, I canceled my order of two weeks ago for a Sinch.
I have heard that the company has extreme difficulty replacing parts, such as batteries and motors. Also, if you have a problem you cannot speak to anyone! You must either send a message through the Aventon website, or chat inside their website, where queuing to do so takes at least a half hour to an hour to finally reach someone.’

There is no one you can ever speak to in customer service because they do not offer that service. I heard directly that one store cannot get Aventon basic parts and supplies and is discontinuing carrying the line for that reason.
No one to speak to in customer service. Delay in delivering bikes. Difficult to impossible to get parts in delivered bikes.
This review confirmed that my interest in this terrific bike was justified. That alone is not enough to spend over $2,000 with no direct customer support or available supplies for delivered bikes.
Until this is resolved, I will pass and look elsewhere. Customer support matters.

I received an (unprompted) email from Aventon on the 17th of this month regarding an order I placed at the beginning of September.
"A big THANK YOU for being so patient and supportive with Aventon during these times. We apologize for the delay in shipping your order. As you may recall, we gave notice in August of a price increase across the board for all our E-Bikes that was to begin September 1st. We anticipated it would drive an increase in orders but did not foresee the volume of orders that did get placed, this has created a backlog that we have been working hard to get through. Many orders that were placed have yet to be fulfilled due to this demand. We are anticipating getting all orders out by the end of September on a first-in-first-out basis. We understand the excitement you have to get your new bike or accessory and appreciate your understanding regarding this delay. Please if you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to reach back out to us."
      Hope this helps.

    GETTING THROTTLE WITHOUT PEDAL ASSIST
Here is what I would do to get a Throttle without any Pedal Assist. Install an aftermarket switch in the cadence sensor circuit to stop the cadence signal from going to the controller. Then when you want Throttle without any Pedal Assist you can select the PAS Mode you want (Except PAS 0 of course) and switch the Cadence signal off. The controller will think that the pedals/crank assembly is NOT turning because the cadence signal is zero even though it might be turning. The controller will not provide any power to the motor as a Pedal Assist but the controller will allow the Throttle to apply power to the motor. This modification is something that must be done by someone who knows their way around electrical circuits but is not really that difficult to accomplish. Also the warranty could be affected if things go badly for you. The cadence sensor is located around the shaft that connects the pedals to each other and the wiring for it is probably hidden somewhat depending on the bike design. You may have to do some disassembly to get to the wiring from the cadence sensor to the controller. A switch somewhere between the two will work. Good Luck!

    • @TheTechofTech
      @TheTechofTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Sounds like you have this thought out. I'd rather manufacturers simply supply the bikes with controllers programmed to allow throttle at 0 PAS than have to do everything you mention to trick the controller.

It also has an 8 speed Shimano altus shifter as well as a headlight and brake light and it weighs 10 pounds less than the Sinch. Don't get me wrong love the look of the Sinch 1 but 1.7k???
