The car accident 2:05:07 (and yeah, they were probably scammers) actually reminded me of one I almost gotten into. I was driving at around 4:30-5 AM to work and I was going like 80km on a straight road in my shitty old car. Vision was relatively good, it wasn't really dark cuz it was more late spring/early summer, and the road seemed mostly empty. Suddenly some other car rushed past me driving like 140+ km, went a bit further forward and out of nowhere started to hit the brakes until it almost went to complete stop. Luckily I had good enough reaction time to swerve left and not crush into it, and nothing was coming at me from the other way on the road as I was passing him, but damn, definitely left me wide awake. And yeah, I honestly think the other car driver was fishing for an accident, cuz saw it in my mirrors that nothing was on the road to make him stop so suddenly and he started moving faster soon after I passed him, didn't try to approach me again and disappearing down the next side road that came up.
I'm listening to the VOD in the background, while doing battle preps in Vision Quest, just as it got to your opinion on it. I couldn't agree more. The maps are bland, and stealables are spread out in a way, that I'm practically forced to run double thieves, and that's with deployment slots that are already strangling me out of a bunch of units I wanted to use, and then the army merger happens, and makes the issue even worse. The story is also rather shonky, starting with an impressive premise, and then slipping into the most basic bitch plot for any FE ROMhack with a non-noble lord, which is "we're freedom fighters now". Also, I'm in part 4, and so far, "Lightning Arvis", who the game really wants me to look out for as this dubious machevelian schemer, commits complete foot-in-mouth roughly every 3 sentences for no good reason, and his motivations, unless there is a huge haymaker of a plot revelation about them in the last few chapters, are underbaked as all hell. This is not my all-encompassing opinion of it for sure, but this hack is more of a 6/10 than God's gift to the community, and I can only think of two hacks I enjoyed playing less, both peing beginner solo projects, and I'd still say one of those had a better character driven story, and more novel ideas.
I'm glad Kelik survived that crit but if he wouldn't have survived then the stream would have ended earlier and your computer would have never exploded ;)
Also, sorry for posting a second comment, but two things. Bunet is indeed bad from an oversight/ design decision that was later walked back on. Bunet and Rosado are shite, and Kagetsu dominates, because the roster was likely designed and finalised at a point in development where the consensus was either no, or very limited reclassing. Bunet and Rosado come in really strong classes, and so their personal bases are dogshite (Rosado has the same personal strength base as Amber, you know, the cavalier who joins with Diamant) while Kagetsu is in the single worst class in the game, but he can be moved over into anything else (likely what R&B start in at base, ironically) to break the game in half. In terms of worst ROMhack you played, trying to look at it from your perspective, there are two candidates it could be narrowed down to. Either Road to Ruin, which you gave up on after the first chapter (tho I played it, and in my opinion, it is far from bad, and the character drama part of the story is handled well enough) or Elibean knights, if you remember, it was a very janky mid-quel hack of FE6 and 7, and while it had a bunch of interesting ideas, it executed just about none of them competently enough to be fun. (You spoke relatively positively of it in your review of it, but if someone looks over the live footage, it is mostly just jank from the game and annoyance/rage from you, with the occasional aknowledgement of good ideas)
Chapter 25. This was where I forgot to get heal staves, saved, and said "eh, screw it. I'm cheating now" The difficulty spike is real on this chapter. Not even kidding.
1:24:10 If that's what you mean, then you're using the wrong word, Mangs. Wonky and weird is not bad. Wonky and weird can just as easily be secretly OP aswell with a matching wonky and weird build. Also modern FE doesn't miss out on bad units at all. Just look at how unusably bad some of Engage's units are (Citrinne, Amber, Bunet). Or some of the awful personal skils. Are you a fan of those units? Because those would be bad units. They are however not wonky and weird. 1:49:15 Yeah, but US food quality is also poisonous garbage making them #1 in pretty much all degenerative diseases. You pay in part with your health.
