Thank you Nathan Wallis for your ‘up the guts’, no nonsense approach. I am looking forward to attending one of his seminars tonight in Hamilton

I found the part about food interesting as I have been looking at our gut and how it contains bad bugs and good bugs but most of us have too much bad bugs which brings about an imbalance causing sickness, moods, etc I have always heard it said that the body can heal its self but I just didn't know how it does that, but now I get it and I think a good part of how our body looks after its self is by being balanced eg: just the right amount of bad bugs as there are good and the way to do that is to feed the good bugs just as much as we feed the bad ones and this is done by eating prebiotics (eg: raw or cooked onion, garlic, dandelion, asparagus, Jerusalem artichoke, green banana, chicory to mention a few) something I have just discovered!! In the past, I had never heard of prebiotics but just recently I started researching them and using them and have found that situations don't affect me like they used to and I am feeling really good its quite a weird thing as I never thought that the body talked to the brain I always thought that the brain talked to the body but I think that by me bringing a balance between the bad bugs and the good bugs in my gut has had a ripple effect and is causing the gut to talk to the brain and is what is making me feel stressfree, happy, well and healthier the most strangest of things that I have noticed is that my ability to bypass sweets such as cake, biscuits, desserts, chocolate, chips etc has diminished and I don't have to use willpower to stop myself from wanting to eat them (its really weird) as this is something I never expected would happen. I have always thought it was from a lack of willpower that we eat too much of the food that doesn't really do anything for us but now I realise that its actually the imbalance of too many bad bugs saying "feed me, feed me" that causes us to eat that extra piece of cake or get another biscuit because that's what the bad bugs live on (sugar) and because we aren't eating anything that feeds our good bugs the bad bugs have free reign, I now wonder if there is a connection with this and cancer, heart disease, strokes diabetes, etc and just what might happen if we started to bring about a balance between the bad bugs and the good. food for thought.

There was some good info in this one even for the adults dealing with anxiety issues and the use of Mindfulness!

Awesome livestream Nathan, always making sense and easy to relate to. Kia ora. The brain believes everything you tell it (self talk) - (placebo effect) being in the now (mindfulness) and acknowledging emotions bring you into the now. so true! Also children are very intuitive so maybe the environment isn't right for them and they haven't formed an attachment to a teacher or peer. (attachment theory) Interesting, yes the pokemon cards worked (maybe an incentive) or maybe the child thinks, (oh you know me, taking an interest in my interests and the child was distracted towards the positive (incredible years). Children need some control (autonomy) so behaviours can stem because they are not getting noticed so I'll misbehave to get any attention. Lots of great thoughts for the mind. Thanks
