    Also for anyone wondering, this process demonstrated in this video focuses on someone who has already imported their image, perhaps in .jpeg format (which doesn't hold transparency) and with it not yet set up as a linked image. This is essentially the starting point for the video, demonstrating the full process for how to get this imported image cut-out correctly and then back into Illustrator.
    A native one-click solution would be ideal. However, if you're working in Illustrator and need something cut out from a background - this is how to get the best result 😊

      It will be great if it relink that image in the process of making a PSD automatically. That we do not need to relink it manually.
      Actually, isn't it better just embed and then unenbed that image as PSD and you have automatically linked PSD.

    Just rename this video to: How to remove background with Photoshop then place it in Illustrator. The title is very misleading now (which may or may not have been your intention?)

      I would never intentionally mislead anyone, but will take this feedback onboard and try out some alternatives for the title 👍

    Hi! I think it"s better if we cutout in photoshop first since we're using PS, export png and use in Illustrator

    • @ForeverDansky
      @ForeverDansky  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sure thing, once you know the process this works 👍 The only difference for me is to save as a .psd file, as this format supports layers, so I can work on the image a bit more later in the process.

    Thanks fot tip but I think it's harder than the classic way, you can just clic on the linked image within Ai , and then there is an option on top where you can update link etc, you will have edit in photoshop option and it will open in photoshop automatically, all you have to do is remove the BG and save the file, and you will see it auto-update in Ai.

    • @ForeverDansky
      @ForeverDansky  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yea it's essentially the same technique! The main difference here is that the image is jpeg format (which doesn't hold transparency) and it has already been imported into the document as a non-linked image - this is intentional, as it's something a lot of Illustrator users will do. The process is shorter if it's already linked and in .psd format for sure, although this video aims to help anyone who hasn't completed, or perhaps doesn't understand those initial steps.

      @@ForeverDanskyIndeed. I think they should maybe add some more context to that tooltip to recommend linking images more often

    • @ForeverDansky
      @ForeverDansky  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BryceDriesenga Good idea! Personally I would also love to see the option to keep the graphic embedded, but one-click open it in Photoshop, make changes and save, and those changes are saved and updated in Illustrator, without the need for a separate file - this is how it works in Adobe XD 👍

    maybe it is just me but, no matter what quick selection method I use, photoshop never does a good job removing background. i alwayshave to revert back to the pen tool!

    Sorry but what's the point of all this method? Since U use PS anyway, just make cutouts + extra tweaks in PS, export to PNG or any other b/g-less format, drop in AI and go on working.

      This workflow is for those who are predominantly using Illustrator, eg. graphic designers, and who need a decent cut out.

    Almost reluctant to admit this but nowadays, I simply upload to a free AI (artificial intelligence, not Adobe Illustrator) site and it does it for me instantly. Yes. us graphic designers are about to be out of work by the end of 2024.
