I had a similar birthing experience as you. I was full term when I went into labor. When I was pushing my baby’s heart rate dropped and after he came out the nurses and midwife said he had aspirated meconium. So I got to hold him for maybe 2 minutes before the army of nurses took him to the NICU. They had pumped so much meconium out his little body. I told my husband to follow the baby while I stayed in the room. Turns out I had a 4th degree tear and I had also hemorrhaged. Blood everywhere. I got about 30 stitches in total. My baby had to be put on oxygen for a day and a half and had to be under the blue light as well. He was there for a total of 5 days. When I was discharged without him I sobbed so hard. And I sobbed everyday until he came home. But like you, I also had a toddler at home and had to put on a smile while I was in pain physically and mentally. I was really upset and sad at the fact that I didn’t have that beautiful after birth experience with my baby. So I completely understand where you are coming from. It’s been 3 years and my baby is now a toddler that is so playful, silly, and a daredevil 😂. Hang on there mom. You’re doing great! I hope you and your family are forever in great health. ❤
Don’t apologize for anything! Your experience does not need to match the worst to be valid. So glad you have your sweet baby home now💘
Thank you so much 🥹 I appreciate the validation and your kind and encouraging words ❤️
